HARRIS SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

The Club is delighted to announce that, following his 18th birthday, Luke Harris has signed an extended contract until 2026, with a Club option for an additional year.

Our young attacking-midfielder made his first senior start for Fulham in our Carabao Cup game against Crawley earlier this season, and has since appeared a number of times under Marco Silva.

His quality was soon spotted on the international stage, with Rob Page including Luke in Wales' squad for their UEFA Nations League matches against Belgium and Poland.

Harris was delighted to extend his stay at Fulham: "I'm really happy with all of it. I've been here for a very long time now, so I'm pleased I'll be staying for even longer.

"Ever since I arrived here, I've settled in really well which was really important as I moved here on my own at the age of 13. At first it was difficult, but looking back now I can see that it was all worth it.

"It feels like home here and I'm loving my journey at Fulham. I'd like to thank my mum and dad who have sacrificed a lot for me, often coming over on weekends with my brothers to watch me play. I couldn't have done this without all of them."

From coming on as a substitute against Manchester City, to making two senior cup starts, the Welshman has already enjoyed experiences he'll never forget.

"My debut was really special, but starting in the FA Cup against Sunderland is the memory that I would say stands out the most. It was a brilliant experience because the FA Cup is so historic, and to be a part of it and help us progress was a great feeling."

On earning Marco's trust, Harris added: "It shows that if you keep on working hard in training, you'll be rewarded, so I just need to keep working every day in order to hopefully get more opportunities."

Tony Khan commented: "Luke has worked hard from a young age, developing under our tremendous Fulham Academy staff to earn his opportunities in the First Team and make his Premier League debut this year.

"Under the great coaching of Marco Silva, I expect that Luke will continue to develop and that he can be an important player for us at Fulham for many years to come. Congratulations, Luke.

"Come on Fulham!"

Head of Football Development, Huw Jennings, said: "We're absolutely delighted, and what's really important is that Luke has already been here a long time and he's showing commitment to want to be at Fulham."

On his speedy journey through the age groups, Huw added: "It's not about age, it's about your ability to demonstrate how you grow and progress.

"One of the key elements to my role is to see players transitioning from the Academy towards the First Team. Luke's getting a really high-class apprenticeship working with Marco every day, whilst getting his games through Steve Wigley and the Under-21s.

"Hopefully, as he has demonstrated through his long-term commitment, we're going to see him grow to become a considerable asset for Fulham in the future."

interesting - especially after Silva's outspoken comments regarding the farce surrounding Carvalho whose career seems to have somewhat stalled - lesson for all our young starlets.
