Bringing back this old familiar and friendly face to the forum as he got promoted with Sheffield Wednesday today, albeit as their backup GK.

He stepped down a few leagues after publicly stating he was slightly disenchanted or disengaged with tip level football and wanted to focus on having fun..

One of Sheffield Wednesdays fans credits him with doing a lot of work behind the scenes to bring along their number 1 GK.

Aside from the fact he was a top bloke and it highlights a reality that's rarely addressed, which is the lows or journey of a professional footballer (cavaleiro in Turkey just to play football having once been the standout player at Wolves for example), was the extra curricular stuff he seems to be doing with his career which make him stand out.

Seems he's a director of football at Darlington on top of mentoring and coaching younger goalkeepers (successfully Wednesdays promotion would suggest)

Thought I'd just bring this us as it highlights a former fulham man doing well on a number of levels, which is always good to see. Plus, it rounds off a successful playoffs this heat for former fulham players with Cody Drameh, Elijah Adebayo and Cauley Woodrow being promoted with Luton too. Perhaps others have too, but just highlights the quality the club has nurtured and associated itself with in terms of academy staff, but also playing staff, even if it has been a while since Stocko played for us.

Amazed he can have an interest in two relatively high teams but whatver.

His linkedin says: Director of football Part-time Darlington fc · Part-time Feb 2023 - Present · 4 mos Part time volunteer to gain experience.

Presumably its to make sure he has a role for himself when he hangs up his gloves.
