Just want to wish our boys the best of luck tonight, have a great game and bring home those winners medals.

filham

Yes ,well done Iwobi and Bassy hope you gain a winner's medals and that you get home early in the week, injury free and fully fit ready to face Villa at the Cottage on Saturday.

Steeeeeeeeeed

Definitely cheering them on, would be fantastic for them, come on the boys in Green 💚

SerbianLad

Hope they win it, it would be a huge boost for them and then consequently for us as well, but I also hope Seri has a good game for Ivory Coast, I still have a soft spot for him.

Baszab

Let's hope it's not fixed - like Qatar have done in the Asian Cup

Curiosity, how have Qatar fixed the Asian cup, first I have heard this, just wondering where that has come from.

Sadly she wasn't

Bassey and Iwobi both start. And so do our former players, Lookman, Aina, Seri and Fofana.

There are I believe 7 players with FFC links in the AFCON Final.

NIGERIA

Bassey and Iwobi, current FFC players; Lookman and Aina, former FFC players; and Troost-Ekong, a former FFC youth player.

IVORY COAST

Seri and Fofana, former FFC players.

And Victor Osimhen, future FFC player (in my dreams).

I'm watching this at a bar on the Dinokeng Game reserve in South Africa not many other Nigeria supporters here,
Will be back for the Villa, hope our boys stay safe 🙏🏻

Seri getting stuck in! with Liam Rosenior speaking very well of him.

Hope he's on the losing side today, though.
Come on you whites wearing the green!

Such a poor quality game matched by a referee who clearly favours the home team.

Half-time. Ivory Coast looked much more dangerous imo, but Nigeria leads. Good corner and excellent header, hardly created anything apart from that though.

Iwobi pretty quiet. Bassey had some errors, but that header to prevent Kessie from scoring was superb. Lookman looking like the most dangerous Nigeria attacker. Seri has done pretty well. He stole the ball before that biggest Ivory Coast chance.

Edit: Forgot about Aina, he's been pretty quiet as well.

Iwobi is having to play a defensive/supporting role for Nigeria since they have so much attacking creativity but lack steel in the midfield so that's why he hasn't really been able to show his quality much in this tournament, but also credit to him for accepting that and sacrificing personal glory to do the dirty work and do what's best for the team.

Agreed. I didn't mean that in a particularly negative way, just stating how I saw that first half. Nigeria in general has been pretty poor going forward.

Keep a clean sheet 2nd half and it's happy days for the boys from Fulham...  ::thumb::  ::wine::

Troost-Ekong has performed very well throughout the tournament and looks a leader of men, I note from previous
message that was on FFC youth recruitment books and looks like another we have missed out on.

He was very poor at Watford in the PL whenever I've seen him play. Judging by Watford fans comments, he was poor in the Championship as well. Granted, Watford isn't a great team, so could be down to them, but maybe he's just having a good tournament now. Or maybe the back 3/5 suits him better than a back 4.
