Fulham 'enter bidding' for Aston Villa man in 'last few hours'
Fulham have become the latest club to be credited with interest in Aston Villa's Jhon Durán.

That's according to Colombia's Antena 2, who say the striker 'would leave' Aston Villa in the summer window.

The Colombia international's game time has been limited since he joined Aston Villa from MLS side Chicago Fire in January 2023. Fulham and a few other clubs are ready to open their doors for him.

Over the past week or so, the sports media in Colombia and England have stated Durán is set to join Chelsea.

Antena 2 say the negotiations with the Blues have stalled, and this has allowed Fulham to 'enter the bidding' for the 20-year-old in the 'last few hours'.

As well as Marco Silva's side, Manchester United are interested in the Aston Villa player. It's to be noted claims from elsewhere have stated the Red Devils are keen on signing Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee, and that seems likelier.

Coming back to Durán, the report states Aston Villa won't make it easy for Fulham or another club to sign him. It's claimed Unai Emery's side will need €40m to sanction the frontman's sale this summer.

There's no mention whether Fulham are willing to meet Aston Villa's demand to sign Durán.

Three Arsenal players Fulham could pick up this summer

Cameron Donaldson looks at the trio of Gunners we've been linked with in recent weeks.

With attacking options Willian, Bobby De Cordova- Reid, and Carlos Vinicius all at risk to depart this summer, Fulham are going to have to roll the dice when it comes to reinforcements.

Although it's early days in the window, the Whites have been linked with a trio of Arsenal academy products to try and fill that potential void. But would they be useful investments?

Emile Smith Rowe

The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour this past season at the Gunners, managing only 13 appearances and one assist, due to the quality of his competition, including Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli. As a result, Arsenal are looking to offload the player and Fulham could be an ideal location. Smith Rowe already has potential suitors in Aston Villa and Newcastle.

We've seen the player's quality at the Cottage for Arsenal, and also Huddersfield, when the youngster proved to be problematic for us when we faced them under Scott Parker. With his tendency to cut inside onto his stronger right foot, as well as taking on his man and driving his team forward, the player could prove to be a long-term replacement for Willian and should fit comfortably into our attack.

Eddie Nketiah

Nketiah has also fallen out of favour with Arteta, with his last start coming at Craven Cottage when Fulham, of course, won 2-1. Nketiah proved very ineffective in that game, neutralised by the strength of Calvin Bassey and the lack of fluidity in the Arsenal attack. Although he still has five goals and two assists this season, the 25 year old has largely proved ineffective when he has played in the Arsenal team and although a move to a team lower down in the table could unlock his potential, Fulham may not be able to offer such comfort.

Marco Silva has proven he likes to be on the front foot with a combative, big striker who harries and hassles the opposition backline. Nketiah contradicts this, playing closer to the style of Bobby Firmino, by dropping deep and remaining close to and linking up with Martin Odegaard to allow the likes of Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka to express themselves. This is contradictory to Fulham's system and although they may adapt, current indications suggest that the striker may not be a shrewd investment for the Whites.

Reiss Nelson

The most recent rumour linking an Arsenal player with Fulham has come in the shape of Reiss Nelson. The 24-year-old has been unable to provide any goals or assists for Arsenal this season and has had limited game time, leading to his desire for a move away. The player should be available for around £15-20m and has been linked with multiple teams in the lower half of the Premier League.

Nelson is often famed for his last-minute goal against Bournemouth to secure a vital win in last season's title race for Arsenal, however he also offers pace and skill, making himself a tricky winger for defenders to deal with. Although he has lacked playing time recently, Nelson is young and there is time for Silva to coach the quality into him, should he look to seal the move.

Although each of these players could cost a sizeable fee, they are all young and have potential. And while they're unlikely to all join, links like these indicate that Fulham hope to invest in young Premier League quality players, which is encouraging.

Everton and Fulham keen to sign Lamine Camara – Fee close to €10m for summer deal
Everton and Fulham have included FC Metz's Lamine Camara in their target list, according to a report from France.

Last season, the midfielder made 35 appearances for the French club, who have been relegated from the Ligue 1.

Camara has two years left on his deal, and Jeunes Footeux state he's unlikely to stay at Metz for a long time.

The Senegal international is 'coveted' by several clubs in the market, including Everton and Fulham.

It's claimed the Premier League duo are keen to sign the player, who is also being chased by an unnamed Bundesliga side. There's also rumours of Galatasaray wanting to sign him.

Camara is valued at €10m by Transfermarket, and the report says Metz are expecting a fee close to that figure to sanction his sale this summer.

This should be affordable for the two English clubs, but it isn't clear if they are willing to convert their interest into an offer. Everton and Fulham could take advantage of Metz's relegation to try to sign him for a lower price.

That way, there may be a bargain deal available.

Club Prepare Final Effort To Land Fulham Man
Bayern Munich are prepared to make a take-it-or-leave-it final offer for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha this summer.

Palhinha's proposed move to Bayern Munich collapsed on deadline day last summer when Fulham failed to secure a replacement for him.

The German giants are again trying to sign the midfielder this summer but they do not want to leave it late this time around.

Fulham have already rejected two bids for Palhinha and Bayern Munich are growing frustrated in their efforts to sign him.

According to German magazine Sport Bild (via Fussball Transfers), the Bavarians are now prepared to make one more offer but it will be their final bid.

Bayern Munich are ready to table an offer worth €45m to try and take Palhinha to Bavaria this summer.

If Fulham decide to reject the bid, Bayern Munich are not ready to raise their offer anymore.

The German giants have reached their pain threshold and are prepared to walk away from the negotiations if their next offer gets knocked back.

How Bayern Munich and Fulham are now feeling about Joao Palhinha move after second bid turned down
HITC understands that Bayern Munich are now confident of striking a deal for one Premier League ace this summer.

A new midfielder could well be high on the list of targets for Bayern Munich this summer with the future of Joshua Kimmich uncertain.

HITC reported last month that Manchester City and Barcelona were ready to fight it out to sign the German midfielder.

As a result of this, the Bavarian side are looking at potential replacements and HITC understands that the player they are keen on is Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha and sources have explained that the German giants are confident of striking a deal.

Deal moving closer but Bayern insist on asking price
Despite confidence from those at Bayern that a deal could be struck, sources have told HITC that they will not meet Fulham's asking price for the Portuguese midfielder, believed to be £60 million.

HITC has been told by sources close to the deal that Bayern's second bid worth around £40m has been turned down by Fulham.

This followed Bayern's opening offer for the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder, which was understood to be in the region of £35 million.

Fulham are open to allowing Palhinha to move, as they gave their word to him they would consider a fresh bid from Bayern after they failed to get him last summer.

Last season for the Cottagers, Palhinha was excellent as he remains one of the club's most important players.

Fulham could be open to negotation for Palhinha deal
Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is seemingly keen on pushing the boat out to land the Portuguese midfielder but there may have to be some wriggle room for a deal to get done.

Fulham are said to be standing firm on their £60 million valuation of the midfielder but it is our understanding that there is room for negotiation with this deal.

The West London club may be willing to accept less than the £60 million valuation on the midfielder but it is highly unlikely Marco Silva's side would accept any offer less than £50 million.

With the German giants £10 million short from the £50 million fee, they will have to increase this offer if they want to get a deal over the line.

From Brazil: Player decides to walk from Fulham, waiting for offers to arrive
Willian is set to leave Fulham this summer, according to claims from South America.

Website Premier League Brasil reveals that the player decided not to renew his contract with the club, and is set to become a free agent.

According to their sources, Willian believes he can help clubs with bigger goals, and with Fulham set to see some stars go in the summer, he's lost motivation to stay there.

It's said that the player already has received approaches from clubs in the Premier League and abroad, and he's now set to sit and analyse the offers with his agent Kia Joorabchian.

Not long ago, PL Brasil had another piece about Willian, saying Manchester United made an approach for him last summer. Erik ten Hag asked him to hold on for other market moves, though, and the player chose not to risk it, choosing to stay at Craven Cottage.

This new story says Willian will wait longer for offers this time, as a stay at Fulham is said to be ruled out, at least for now.

Willian joined Fulham in the summer of 2022, and in two seasons at the club, he's scored ten goals and contributed seven assists in 67 appearances.

Now it's a case of waiting to see who comes in for the 35-year-old.

Southampton and Fulham join race to sign Sheffield United target
According to a claim in the Turkish media, Southampton and Fulham have joined the race to sign Besiktas attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

There have been recent reports the former Liverpool player wants a return to England, leading to claims Sheffield United were looking to sign him.

Sabah today report on the latest developments regarding Oxlade-Chamberlain's future at Besiktas, and they say Southampton, Fulham and Sheffield United are all interested in the 30-year-old.

As previously reported in the Turkish media, and mentioned again by Sabah, Besiktas are looking to offload the midfielder this summer as they want to get him off their wage bill. He arrived last summer on a free transfer after his contract expired at Liverpool, but failed to make a real impact in Istanbul.

The competition may come as a blow to Sheffield United in their pursuit of Oxlade-Chamberlain, given both Southampton and Fulham can offer him an immediate return to the Premier League. Recent reports had suggested the Blades were in the lead to sign him.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 appearances for the Super Lig side last season, scoring 4 goals. He's contracted to the club until June 2026.

Report: Fulham begin looking at replacement for Bayern-linked Joao Palhinha
We're going through the same song and dance again...

On deadline day last summer, Bayern Munich were ready to present Fulham FC's Joao Palhinha as a new Bayern Munich player. The contract was signed, photos were taken and the player was in Munich with a big smile on his face.

However, Bayern Munich had waited until the last moment to try and make the transfer work, which led to Fulham failing to find a replacement. Without a replacement and seeking survival in the Premier League, they pulled the plug on the transfer and Palhinha went back to Fulham dejected.

Ergo, it must be good news that Fulham could be looking for a replacement now. According to Peter Rutzler and Adam Leventhal, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, Fulham have restarted talks with Fluminese for midfielder Andre Trindade. More importantly for Bayern, it reported that the reason for the interest is that "the west London club are looking for a defensive midfielder after Bayern Munich renewed their pursuit of João Palhinha." In the case that Andre would be set to replace Palhinha, it could well mean the Portuguese would be free to join new head coach Vincent Kompany at Bayern in the coming weeks.

But caution is advised. Fulham were also heavily interested in Andre long before Bayern's pursuit for Palhinha was restarted and were heavily linked with signing the defensive midfield in January, though they were unable to seal the deal. Did they back out because they did not have to replace Palhinha? Were they going to sign Andre regardless of Palhinha's future, thus rendering Andre an imperfect replacement for the Bayern target? Bayern will be hoping the former scenario is the motivation behind the collapsed deal.

So...what should Bayern Munich fans think about this? Well, per Fabrizio Romano (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich could be making strides with Fulham on getting a deal done:

Negotiations between Bayern and Fulham for João Palhinha are advancing despite the initial gap in valuation.

However, Sport Bild's Christian Falk and Tobi Altshaffl (via @iMiaSanMia) are reporting that Bayern Munich is getting annoyed with Fulham's reluctance to do a deal:

Bayern's second bid for João Palhinha, which was rejected by Fulham, was worth €42m. Bayern are said to no longer have much patience: They want to improve the offer once more, but the maximum they're willing to pay is around €45m fixed plus add-ons.

Hmmm, interesting...

Club seem to be losing patience with Fulham – 'Pain threshold' already reached
Bayern Munich 'seems to be gradually losing patience' with Fulham in negotiations over midfielder Joao Palhinha.

That's according to FCB Inside, relaying information from Sport BILD, who say the Germans have set a 'pain threshold' for the Portugal star and won't be going beyond it.

A report last night from journalist Florian Plettenberg made it clear that Bayern would not pay over the top for Palhinha, despite him still being a major target for them after their efforts to sign him last summer.

Sport BILD continue that theme today, stating that after seeing a second bid of €42m rejected, the German giants are about to make their final offer to Fulham.

Their current pain threshold is €45m and those in charge at the Allianz Arena will not go beyond that point, which is the 'absolute upper limit' for them.

They have shown a willingness to talk and negotiate matters, but Fulham are still sticking to their asking price for Palhinha, which has been set at €65m.

Bayer Munich's upper limit is €20m short of that and Sport BILD make it clear that they won't be going beyond that point either. Indeed, their willingness to talk with Fulham, and their patience, appears to be running low.

Whether that means an end to talks is on the way and the transfer is cancelled for a second time remains to be seen, but with such a large gap between the two clubs are present, it's hard to see how Palhinha ends up at Bayern this summer.

Bayern Munich Closing In On Joao Palhinha
Bayern Munich and Fulham are closing in on an agreement to sort out the move for Joao Palhinha.

The German giants are long time admirers of Palhinha and last summer his move to Bayern Munich collapsed on deadline day.

This summer, Bayern Munich are keen on landing Palhinha and they are in talks with Fulham.

Fulham have rejected Bayern Munich's previous two bids, but the Bundesliga outfit are continuing negotiations to find a solution.

Now, according to Sky Deutschland, Bayern Munich and Fulham have made progress in their negotiations and they are closing in on an agreement.

The Portugal international is in favour of a move and has agreed personal terms with the Bavarian outfit.

It is suggested that Bayern Munich have submitted a bid to Fulham in the region of €43m to €45m.

The Bundesliga outfit have offered Palhinha a deal until 2028 and they remain optimistic that they will find an agreement with Fulham.

Club make approach for Fulham attacker – 29-year-old keen on return home
With few chances to play for Fulham this season, Carlos Vinicius was loaned to Galatasaray.

In his short spell in Turkey, the striker had two goals and one assist in 14 appearances, and once again has an uncertain future at Craven Cottage.

Now it seems that a return to Brazil may be an option for him. According to UOL, Grêmio have made an approach to sign Carlos Vinícius from Fulham.

It's said there's been an initial contact with the player's entourage to get more information on a potential deal, and no bids were placed so far.

UOL writes that Carlos Vinícius is willing to return to Brazil, as long as the proposal is seen as 'positive' for all those involved.

The story doesn't say what would be the conditions demanded by Fulham to let the striker leave in the summer. He still has a contract with the club running until 2025, and is valued by Transfermarkt at €4m.

It would be no surprise if Grêmio try a loan deal, and perhaps that could result in a contract renewal with the Whites.

Simon Jordan tips Fulham to hire former Prem manager when Marco Silva leaves
At this point, you have to wonder what one of the most high-profile managers on the market is waiting for.

What sort of an opportunity does he feel is the right one for him to kick-start his coaching career again? Not Ajax, it seems, the 49-year-old recently turning down the chance to take over at the Dutch giants who have fallen so far since the departure of Erik ten Hag.

Francesco Farioli, Roberto de Zerbi's old Sassuolo assistant, is instead taking the reigns at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Graham Potter, meanwhile, remains without a club. And after talks with Leicester City went the same way as those Ajax discussions – the Championship champions shifting their focus to Steve Cooper instead – there appears to be a very real chance that the 2024/25 campaign begins without Potter being situated in any dugout.

Leicester City go from Graham Potter to Steve Cooper
The Guardian now reports that Leicester are in advanced talks to bring Steve Cooper to the King Power Stadium instead. Cooper was a hugely popular presence at Midland neighbours Nottingham Forest before his emotional departure just before Christmas, and appears more a lot more willing than Potter at this stage to step into the chair vacated by Enzo Maresca following his appointment at Chelsea.

For one-time Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan, missing out on Potter may not necessarily be a bad thing for Leicester, insisting that The Foxes need a manager who wants them as much as they want him.

"I think Leicester is possibly a good job for (Potter)," Jordan tells talkSPORT (19 June, 11.40am). "If Leicester walked out of the room thinking they had got an agreement, it will be exasperating.

"The last thing you want to do is interview somebody, give them an opportunity, and then have to convince them to do the job in the first place. They are the ones who should be pulling your arm off at the shoulder, not the other way around.

"It is not Leicester's job to rebuild Graham Potter, offer him an opprtunity to redeem his reputation. It is to get a guy in who sees Leicester as his opportunity, not the other way around."

Former Chelsea boss tipped for Fulham job?
So what next? What is the next step for Potter, who's reputation took a bruising at Chelsea and was eventually overlooked by Ineos for the Manchester United job with Ten Hag sticking around?

Jordan feels Potter may have to build his standing up from the ground again. The former Brighton boss should not expect to conjure up interest from clubs such as Chelsea or Man United, but instead more mid-table teams.

"I can understand why he doesn't go to Ajax, because Ajax is a car crash right now," adds Jordan. "They are all over the place. Your manager doesn't often get enhanced by working in these places.

"When Marco Silva does his inevitable soft shoe shuffle somewhere else, then I could see him managing someone like Fulham. Most clubs are a step down from Chelsea (but) he is not, in my view, a top-six manager.

"I think that a Fulham – or someone like that – is where his level might be."

The famously flighty Silva has shown no real desire to leave Fulham as of yet though the excellent work he has done at Craven Cottage hasn't gone unnoticed. According to The Athletic, Man United's new decision-makers held talks around the FA Cup victory over Man City.

Rodrigo Muniz claim made as Tottenham transfer news emerges
John Wenham does not want Tottenham to sign Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose doesn't believe the Brazillian has done enough to prove he is a reliable long-term option in North London.

As reported by Goal Brazil journalist Thiago Fernandes via X (3 June), Tottenham and Chelsea have made contact over a move for Muniz.

But Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is not convinced by the 23-year-old.

"I don't want Tottenham to sign Muniz," Wenham said.

"He has only had half a good season, and it might just be a purple patch.

"It wasn't that long ago that he couldn't get a game or score a goal for Fulham.

"They were playing Raúl Jiménez instead of him even though he was out of form. Therefore, I would pass on Muniz."

Will Tottenham sign Rodrigo Muniz from Fulham to play under Ange Postecoglou?
Muniz enjoyed a positive 2023/24 campaign at Craven Cottage and has attracted interest as a result.

The forward scored nine goals and provided one assist in 26 Premier League appearances. However, this form is perhaps not enough to justify a move to Tottenham.

While Muniz is still just 23 years old and has plenty of room to grow and improve, there will be more high-profile number nines available this summer.

Ange Postecoglou will be keen to kick on, and Spurs would therefore be better off trying to sign a more established goalscorer.

Muniz could fail to build on his form last season, and it would then be back to square one again for Spurs this time next year.

Everton, Fulham vying for Lamine Camara
Everton and Fulham are reportedly interested in signing 20-year-old African midfielder Lamine Camara from FC Metz.

According to a report by French outlet Jeunes Footeux, Lamine Camara might leave FC Metz in the summer transfer window after the club's relegation from Ligue 1. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Everton and Fulham vying for the signature of the 20-year-old African midfielder.

Who is Lamine Camara?
Lamine Camara has made gradual progress since arriving in Europe a few years ago. A native of Diouloulou, he spent his formative years in his homeland, passing through the academies at Galaxy FA and Casa Sports before graduating from the youth division at Generation Foot.

The 20-year-old arrived in Europe by joining FC Metz in February 2023. Camara has been a regular for FC Metz in the last 18 months, and he amassed over 2,500 minutes of game time across 34 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with two goals and five assists. However, the youngster could not help FC Metz remain in Ligue 1.

With FC Metz suffering relegation from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2, the African midfielder might embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Everton and Fulham vying for the signature of the Senegalese international.

Premier League move on the horizon?
Everton's interest in Lamine Camara is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Amadou Onana. So, the FC Metz midfielder has emerged as a viable target for Everton.

As for Fulham, the Cottagers will dip their toes in the market for a midfielder in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Joao Palhinha. So, several midfielders, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, have emerged on Fulham's radar. However, Camara is also an option worth considering for the West London club.

With Everton and Fulham keen on securing Lamine Camara's services in the summer transfer window, a move to the Premier League might be in the pipeline. It will be interesting to see where the 20-year-old FC Metz midfielder plies his trade next season after the club's relegation from Ligue 1.

Manchester United, Fulham rival Chelsea in Jhon Duran chase
Manchester United and Fulham will reportedly compete with Chelsea for Aston Villa attacking prospect Jhon Duran, who will cost €40 million.

According to a report by Antena 2, Manchester United and Fulham have joined the race to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window. The young attacking prospect is a target for Chelsea. However, the talks with the West London club over a deal worth €40 million for the Colombian international have stalled, providing Manchester United and Fulham the opportunity to steal a march on Chelsea.

Jhon Duran and his Aston Villa journey so far
Jhon Duran has battled for regular game time since joining Aston Villa from Chicago Fire in January 2023. The 20-year-old has been impressive in his limited minutes on the pitch. However, that has not been enough to convince Unai Emery to make him a regular in the final third alongside Ollie Watkins.

The Colombian international managed only 1,103 minutes of game time across 37 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net eight times. Meanwhile, Duran's stock in the market remains high, with Chelsea, Fulham, and Manchester United vying for his signature.

A man in demand
Chelsea and Aston Villa have been in talks over a deal for Duran in the last few weeks. However, the discussions have stalled in recent days due to a few external factors. While the Blues want a striker, they have concerns about the youngster's attitude. Meanwhile, Chelsea's hesitancy has given his other suitors a window of opportunity.

Fulham's interest in Jhon Duran is understandable. The Cottagers are scouring the market for a striker this summer as they look to fill Aleksandar Mitrovic's void at the club. While Rodrigo Muniz stepped up, Fulham will look for another option, with several candidates, including Eddie Nketiah, emerging as targets.

As for Manchester United, their interest in Duran is somewhat perplexing, considering Rasmus Hojlund's presence in the squad. While the Red Devils need a striker, they should sign a more experienced attacker than Duran. Nevertheless, Manchester United will consider signing the Aston Villa prospect, who will cost around €40 million.

While €40 million is a sizeable asking price, Duran has the potential to justify the heavy investment. So, it will be interesting to see if Manchester United and Fulham steal a march on Chelsea for the 20-year-old Aston Villa prospect.
