Let's hope he stays injury free and really kicks on now he's back. He's hardly played a game in the last 2 years+. Will take time for him to get upto speed I imagine. May be wise to manage our expectations.

HV71

Love it — an impressive young man back where he really belongs .

Sure it was years ago... But allowing myself to enjoy and dream. Will never forget that assist at wembley. One of our own!

Twig

Absolutely delighted to have Sess back, a great feel good story.

filham

Suspect his first appearance will be off the bench. Important that we give him a big welcome.

Welcome back Sess!!!

He was an amazing player for us in the Championship. Of course things may turn out differently now in the Premier League, but the way he left the club, signing a new contract and allowing the club to get a decent transfer fee, he at least deserves a chance. Loyalty is such a rare thing with footballers these day.

I find it VERY interesting that the club specifically mentions that he played in a more attacking position on the left-wing during out promotion season. If this is the plan, rather than mainly a backup at LB, I'm actually very excited about this. Hopefully Silva will find a way to utilize his strengths.

A total no-brainer on a free. ::thumb::

Woolly Mammoth

Yes i agree, he should be a good signing for our benefit and his benefit also.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Agree with all of this. As others have speculated, I wonder if he will be the BDR replacement across the front line.

Surely that would be Iwobi? He can play LW, RW, AM and ST. I've not seen Sess play RW or ST.

Perhaps, but we had Iwobi before BDR left. I personally expect Iwobi to be a regular starter depending on the summer acquisitions where I considered BDR a spot starter and super sub.

Yeah, that's true but the good thing about Iwobi is that you can sub someone into where Iwobi was playing and move him into a different position.

I definitely agree about Iwobi's versatility. I guess I just have high hopes for what Sess can bring to the squad. Perhaps too high  ::scarf::

Welcome back Sess!

Really astute signing on a free transfer purely for the cover he brings down the left.

I'm excited to see where Marco thinks he's best.

Also, I know a lot of people have mentioned this is pure nostalgia as a signing but man it feels good. We call ourselves a family club and this sort of story backs that up. What's football without a little emotion eh?

Sessegnon wore number 30 on his training shirt. Might mean nothing, but I thought he'd wear that number anyway. Vinicius is probably leaving then. Also not surprising.

I think if we can get £5-8m for him we should take it.
