'Deal done' - Next QPR transfer confirmed for ex Fulham and PSG defender
Marti Cifuentes will let one of his defensive options spend time away from Loftus Road next season.

QPR are set to sanction another exit as their next transfer move this summer with defender Ziyad Larkeche packing his bags for a temporary stay across the border with Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.

The Scottish Sun reports that the 21-year-old is set to become Dundee's sixth signing of the summer after a sixth-place finish in the country's top tier last season. Larkeche will link up with the club on a season-long loan from the R's with a deal believed to have been finalised on Monday.

The former French youth international only arrived at Loftus Road last summer having been released as a free agent by Fulham. Larkeche put pen to paper on a three-year deal, so will still have 12 months to run on his contract at the end of his loan spell with Dundee.

The defender came through the youth academy at French giants Paris Saint-Germain but never broke through into the first team before making the switch to Craven Cottage in 2020. Larkeche only played for the Cottagers' under-21 side but made his senior debut while on loan at Barnsley in League One during the 2022/23 campaign - scoring on his first appearance in an EFL Trophy clash against Newcastle United under-21.

Larkeche was an important part of Marti Cifuentes' Championship squad in West London last season, making 20 appearances in the second tier. The majority of those were from the bench, only racking up 365 minutes over the campaign, as he played second fiddle to Kenneth Paal.

The Frenchman can also be deployed as a left winger and will add versatility to the Dundee squad. It is expected that Larkeche will be available to play for Tony Docherty's side's Scottish Premiership opener - a derby day meeting against Dundee United on Saturday, August 4.

'Advanced stages' - Fulham to beat Crystal Palace to 'impressive' £35m transfer 'this week'
Two Premier League sides in the capital had been in competition for the Arsenal midfielder.

Fulham are expected to beat Crystal Palace to the signing of Arsenal hotshot Emile Smith-Rowe this week for a club record £35 million fee.

The Guardian reported last week that The Eagles had joined the race for the midfielder after the Cottagers saw a £30 million bid rejected by The Gunners. Crystal Palace are in the market for new attacking influence following the exit of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich with Eberechi Eze also linked with an exit for Selhurst Park.

Fulham remained frontrunners and the West London club now appear to be on the verge of an agreement with Arsenal. Smith-Rowe did not feature in his side's matchday squad for a friendly meeting with Manchester United in the USA over the weekend, watching on from the stands.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano took to social media platform X to confirm that the 24-year-old missed out due to his imminent move to Fulham. Romano added that, after months of speculation, the transfer is expected to be completed 'next week'.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that negotiations were 'happening in the background' amid reports that the club had now accepted an improved £35 million bid from Fulham. That splurge will be a club record fee for Marco Silva's side and comes having cashed in on Joao Palhinha - the Portugal international joining Bayern Munich for £47 million earlier this month.

That fee will represent a healthy profit for Arsenal with Smith-Rowe a product of the club's youth academy. The player joined the youth set-up in 2010 and has gone on to make 115 appearances for the first team.

Smith-Rowe's exit will come as somewhat of a disappointment for some Arsenal supporters, who had hoped for big things from the midfielder. Speaking to Sky Sports in 2020, Arteta had predicted big things for the rising star.

He said: "He's a player with very specific qualities to play in those pockets in that position as an attacking midfielder. I am excited to work with him. I have been talking with him and I have followed him during his spell on loan. I think he's someone who can be pretty impressive."

Southampton and Fulham will have to pay €20m for target as they prepare moves
According to a claim in the Turkish media, Southampton and Fulham are looking to move in on Fenerbahce defender Bright Osayi-Samuel.

The former Queens Park Rangers player has been linked with a return to England and, along with Southampton and Fulham, he's also been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United in recent weeks.

Sporx today report on the latest developments around Osayi-Samuel and they say Southampton and Fulham are preparing moves for the right back and are ready to make offers.

It's claimed Fenerbahce are looking for offers in the region of €20m and aren't prepared to enter into negotiations if any clubs come in with bids lower than this. We don't quite believe them on that and less would probably do the trick.

There were recent reports Jose Mourinho wanted to keep the 26 year old, and that extension talks had started. However, interest from England has resurfaced and the Yellow Canaries could be tempted to sell this summer.

Osayi-Samuel made 29 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, scoring three goals. He's contracted to the club until June 2025.

Digital ticketing
Friday's announcement of the Club's approach to digital ticketing provides welcome detail to all supporters ahead of the new season which is now only three weeks away.

Ever since Fulham confirmed towards the end of last season that they would be switching to digital ticketing for 2024/25, we have been working hard to understand how the system will operate and also to feed key supporter requirements into the decision making and communications work at the Club. We now have a first view of the new Ticketmaster digital ticketing system being rolled out and, with thanks to the Club's ticketing and communications teams, answers to most of your questions have been included in the FAQ.

Given the increasing problems we have seen in recent years with away fans in home areas, we fully support the move to digital ticketing as a key tool in the fight against touts. It should now be much easier for the Club to understand who is in possession of each ticket and how they are being transferred. However we were always clear that, aside from a system that works quickly at the turnstiles to minimise delays, the two critical requirements for supporters were the ability to continue to share season tickets legitimately with family and friends and alternative entry methods for those without smart phones, particularly juniors, seniors and disabled supporters. We are pleased that the Club has embraced these requirements.

There is a lot of information now on the Club web site and we encourage you to read through the guides and FAQ to familiarise yourselves with the new system. There are no tickets on sale yet, but the Club plans to send out our digital season tickets, which they are calling digital season passes, by email in the week commencing 5th August; the process then should be no more than a download into our Apple or Google phone wallet and the ticket will be able to be read at the turnstiles by tapping as we previously did with our plastic cards. The fact that our tickets are not based on QR codes or barcodes means that they are less easily shareable by touts which has to be a good thing.

As the ticketing system provider has now changed from SecuTix to Ticketmaster, we do all need to re-enter our Friends and Family links so that we can buy tickets for each other and share season tickets when needed. We encourage you to do this as soon as possible both to make sure that you can log in to the new system and also that you are ready for the new season. The Club has published a Friends & Family guide which explains how to do this, for which you'll need the client reference numbers of your friends and family from their season ticket cards. We've noticed that, at least for the time being, the old ticketing system is still live and so you can check your old Friends and Family network there.

We also strongly encourage anyone without a smart phone in the exemption groups to request their alternative card as soon as possible using the form on the Club's web site.

Ultimately the success of the system will be determined by how easy it is to use on non-match days and how it operates on match day. We know that other clubs have had teething problems with digital ticketing when first rolled out, but we're hopeful that the fact that the turnstile infrastructure has not needed to be changed will minimise this. It is a shame though that there doesn't seem to be a home friendly to use as a test event.

Almost all of the queries we have received so far have been addressed in the Club's FAQ, but if you have others which you can't find there, please let us know and we will look for answers either at the next Club meeting on Wednesday 31st July or separately.

Thank you for your support of the Fulham Supporters's Trust.

Fulham Set To Give Crystal Palace Target Medical As They Close In
Fulham will put Crystal Palace target Emile Smith Rowe through a medical later this week after agreeing terms for him, according to Sky Sports News.

Smith Rowe is a player that Arsenal have been willing to offload for the right price and he has drawn interest from two London teams.

Crystal Palace boss OIiver Glasner is an admirer of the attacker and was claimed to want him at Selhurst Park, but Fulham have flashed the cash to see off competition from Selhurst Park.

An agreement on a fee is now in place with Arsenal and the deal could net the Gunners £34m.

Fulham will pay £27m plus £7m in add-ons for Smith Rowe and are planning to put him through a medical later this week.

The Cottagers already have personal terms wrapped up with Smith Rowe which will speed the completion of the deal.

Once he puts pen to paper to join Fulham, he is expected to fly out to the club's training camp in Portugal.

Smith Rowe is keen to play regular football this season and that looked likely to elude him if he remained at Arsenal.

Emile Smith Rowe: Fulham agree club record transfer deal in principle with Arsenal
Fulham have agreed a deal in principle that will see them pay an initial £27m for Emile Smith Rowe plus add-ons that could take the total to £34m; The Arsenal midfielder played only 346 minutes in the Premier League last season; Smith Rowe is expected to have a medical this week

Emile Smith Rowe played only 346 minutes in the Premier League last season

Fulham have an agreement in principle with Arsenal to sign Emile Smith Rowe.

The deal - a club record for Fulham - will see them pay an initial £27m, plus add-ons that could take the total to £34m.

Final details are being sorted between the clubs but personal terms for the midfielder have been agreed in principle - and Smith Rowe is expected to have a medical this week.

Once the deal is wrapped up, Fulham are expected to go back in with an improved offer for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

Smith Rowe played only 346 minutes in the Premier League last season, making just three starts, with a knee injury ruling him out for six weeks in October.

The 24-year-old has won three senior England caps, the last in March 2022, but he was a member of the squad that won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship last summer.

Fulham fly to Portugal for a pre-season training camp on Tuesday and it is hoped Smith Rowe will join up with them at some point during the camp.

Smith Rowe has been keen on the move with his primary motivation having always been regular first-team football. It is seen as a good move for all parties.

He has been with the Arsenal squad during their pre-season tour in the United States and was an unused substitute in last week's friendly against Bournemouth in Los Angeles as the Gunners won on penalties.

Asked about Smith Rowe's future after the game, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: "There are things happening in the background at the moment.

"We decided the best thing to do was to keep him away from the game today."

Smith Rowe was then not in the squad for their friendly against Manchester United over the weekend and has now left the tour to finalise his move to Fulham.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Arsenal have just reached a £27m agreement to sell their midfielder
Arsenal are close to selling one of their top homegrown talents with an agreement in principle apparently now sorted.

The Gunners have spent the last few windows spending big money and there has been an acceptance this summer that sales were needed.

A number of homegrown talents like Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson are believed to be up for grabs, with Arsenal conscious of bringing in complete profit to balance the books.

As well as Nketiah and Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe has also been the subject of heavy interest.

And now, it looks like a deal with Fulham has been reached to take Smith Rowe to Craven Cottage.

Arsenal agree deal in principle to sell Emile Smith Rowe
Updating the Sky Sports live blog on transfers today, reporters Lyall Thomas and Dharmesh Sheth have said a deal to take Smith Rowe to Fulham is now all but done.

"Fulham have an agreement in principle with Arsenal for the signing of Emile Smith Rowe," it says.

"The deal – a club-record for Fulham – will see them pay an initial £27m, plus add-ons that could take the total to £34m.

"Final details are being sorted between the clubs, but personal terms have also been agreed in principle. Smith Rowe is expected to have a medical this week.

"The Fulham squad fly to Portugal for a pre-season training camp tomorrow. It is hoped Smith Rowe will join up with them at some point during the camp."

Adding credence to the report from Sheth, Fabrizio Romano has now also given the deal his famous 'here we go' treatment.

Smith Rowe has fallen down the pecking order at The Emirates and is not really part of Mikel Arteta's plans.

The England international is thought to be keen on making the move away from Arsenal to play regular football and a move to Fulham keeps him in London as well.

Lauded by Mikel Arteta as an 'extraordinary' talent, Smith Rowe will be hoping to get minutes and eventually play himself back into the thinking of the England coaches.

Fulham agree fee with Arsenal for Smith Rowe
Fulham have agreed an initial fee of £27m with Arsenal for Emile Smith Rowe, according to Sky Sports News.

The deal could rise to £34m should all add-ons be activated – making the England international potentially Fulham's record signing. The securing of Marco Silva's top summer transfer target – should a medical, due to take place this week, prove successful – follows hot on the heels of the return of Ryan Sessegnon to Craven Cottage on Friday.

Smith Rowe is expected to join Fulham's pre-season training camp in Portugal, which sees the Whites take on Benfica and Sevilla on the Algarve, as soon as possible. The Arsenal academy graduate, who turned 24 yesterday, made 115 appearances and scored eighteen goals for the Gunners and has been capped three times at senior level for his country.

Fulham agree club record fee for Arsenal's Smith Rowe
Fulham have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign midfielder Emile Smith Rowe for an initial £27m with the potential of £7m in add-ons.

Smith Rowe is a club record signing for Fulham and sources say the add-ons are based on Cup and European success for the Cottagers.

The 23-year-old has been left out of Arsenal's past two pre-season matches as the deal was completed.

Smith Rowe is an academy graduate and a popular figure among supporters but has dropped down the pecking order at Arsenal behind Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka.

The midfielder has three England caps, the last of which came in 2022.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have signed Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for a fee of up to £42m.

Fulham set to seal signing of Smith Rowe
Fulham are close to sealing the club-record signing of Emile Smith Rowe.

Arsenal recently rejected an offer from the Whites but negotiations have continued and a deal appears to be in place to bring the attacker to Craven Cottage.

Fulham are set to pay around £25m up front for the Croydon-born 23-year-old, but the transfer could eventually be worth close to £35m with add-ons.

Smith Rowe, who has two years remaining on his Arsenal contract, has been with the north London club since the age of 10.

His impressive performances led to him breaking into the England side in 2021.

He has since found first-team football hard to come by and made just 13 Premier League appearances last season, prompting interest from a number of clubs alerted to his potential availability.

Agreement reached as Premier League club break transfer record for Arsenal talent
Fulham have reached an with Arsenal for the signing of Emile Smith Rowe as the midfielder looks set to leave the Gunners after spending his entire career in North London.

Arsenal will receive an initial £27m for the 24-year-old, plus add-ons that could take the total to £34m, reports Sky Sports. This will be a club-record transfer for Fulham, which shows how much Marco Silva wants the Englishman in his team for the 2024/25 campaign.

The Portuguese coach has an exciting side at Craven Cottage and the addition of Smith Rowe could take the London club up a level should he reach his potential with his new team.

Smith Rowe will now undergo a medical before the deal is confirmed as personal terms have already been agreed between Fulham and the player.

This is a huge move for the Arsenal star as he has spent his entire career with the Gunners and many thought he was on course to become a superstar at the club following his impressive 2021/22 campaign.

However, that never worked out for the player and his move to Fulham could be vital for how the rest of his career pans out.

What happened to Emile Smith Rowe at Arsenal?
Following his standout 2021/22 campaign, injuries affected Smith Rowe's development and recent seasons have seen the 24-year-old slip down Mikel Arteta's pecking order. The Englishman would not have been guaranteed many minutes at the Emirates Stadium this season and it was best for the player to try a new challenge.

It would have been hard for Smith Rowe to work his way back into Arteta's plans at the rate the Spaniard's team is developing as the North London outfit attempt to win the Premier League again this season.

The transfer is great business for Arsenal seeing as the midfielder only received 475 minutes of action last season in all competions. The Gunners will likely use it to recruit new talent as Arteta would like to see another midfielder arrive into his squad.

Arsenal: Emile Smith Rowe set for Fulham medical as £34m fee agreed
The Cottagers have agreed a club-record fee for the Gunners no10

Arsenal and Fulham have agreed a deal worth £34million for Emile Smith Rowe.

The move is a club-record one for Fulham, who will pay £27m across four years and a further £7m in add-ons.

Smith Rowe, who had also been attracting interest from Crystal Palace this summer, will now undergo a medical with Fulham and finalise personal terms before joining the club's pre-season tour in Portugal.

The midfielder will hope that by leaving Arsenal he can kickstart his career after a difficult few years at Emirates Stadium.

Smith Rowe was a key part of the Arsenal team in the early part of Mikel Arteta's reign, but he has slipped down the pecking order.

Injuries have hit him hard recently but, even when fit during the second half of last season, he struggled for action.

Smith Rowe played just 346 minutes in the Premier League last season and has not scored for Arsenal since April 2022.

The 24-year-old has been part of Arsenal's squad out in the US on tour, but he has not played for them.

He was an unused substitute during the draw with Bournemouth last Thursday and was left out of the squad for the win over Manchester United at the weekend.

Arteta confirmed that was done as there were "things happening in the background" and Smith Rowe is now set to leave Arsenal.

The midfielder is a boyhood fan of the club and is a product of the club's academy. He made his England senior debut in 2021 and last summer helped the Under-21s win the Euros.

Fulham will now bid for 'fantastic' Manchester United player after they announce Emile Smith Rowe deal
Fulham are close to announcing a deal to sign Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe but it doesn't look like this is the end of their spending.

The Cottagers are looking to add to their squad this summer and have already completed deals to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Tottenham, alongside the Smith Rowe deal today.

But that doesn't look like being enough for Fulham boss Marco Silva, who is keen to ensure the Cottagers add quality.

Of course, one man who has been linked with a move to Fulham in recent weeks is Manchester United midfielder, Scott McTominay.

Tottenham, too, have been linked with a move for McTominay, despite Erik ten Hag wanting to keep the Scottish star.

However, despite Ten Hag's plans, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has suggested that Fulham could now bid again for McTominay, even though they've signed Smith Rowe.

Fulham to make new bid for Manchester United's Scott McTominay
Speaking on Sky Sports about Fulham and their plans after signing Smith Rowe, Sheth confirmed that a new bid for Scott McTominay is now likely as well.

"Fulham are expected to go back in with an improved offer for Scott McTominay once their deal for Emile Smith Rowe is wrapped up," Sheth said.

"McTominay's future could dictate whether Manchester United bring in a midfielder.

"Fulham's full focus in on the Smith Rowe deal after they agreed a deal in principle with Arsenal for the attacking midfielder."

McTominay was lauded last season for some 'fantastic' performances and he became a bit of a cult hero for United and Scotland, scoring big goals.

However, he is far from a first-choice option for Ten Hag and like Smith Rowe with Arsenal, he could seek an exit to get regular minutes.

Quite whether he fancies the move to London from Manchester, remains to be seen.

United are thought to want around £40m for McTominay, should they decide to cash in.

Fulham agree £27m Emile Smith Rowe deal as the Arsenal star gets set to become club record arrival at Craven Cottage - with Gunners in line to receive another £7m in potential add-ons

Fulham have reportedly agreed a £27m deal with Arsenal for Emile Smith Rowe
The 24-year-old is now set to sign-off on personal terms at Craven Cottage
Smith Rowe has been keen to leave Arsenal in search of regular playing time

Fulham have agreed a £27million deal with Arsenal for Emile Smith Rowe that also includes up to £7m more in add-ons.

Negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing in recent weeks, with Arsenal first rejecting an initial bid as Crystal Palace also held interest in the playmaker.

The agreement looks set to mark a new club record transfer fee for Fulham after they previously forked out £25m on midfielder Jean Michael Seri six years ago.

Smith Rowe is currently on Arsenal's pre-season tour of the United States but hasn't featured in any games as Fulham attempted to reach an agreement with last season's Premier League runners-up.

An improved bid from Fulham has now been accepted with the former England international set to join Marco Silva's side, as reported by the BBC.

Fulham have reportedly agreed a £27m deal with Arsenal for midfielder Emile Smith Rowe

Smith Rowe has been keen to leave Arsenal in search of more regular playing time

Fulham boss Marco Silva has been keen to reinforce his squad in the summer transfer window

Fulham previously had a £30m bid rejected for Smith Rowe as Arsenal sought to recoup a higher fee on their investment in a player that many fans value as one of the academy's best talents.

Smith Rowe is yet to sign off on personal terms and must undergo a medical that could be completed in either America or back in London.

His departure is also one of Arsenal's most expensive but fails to top the £35m that Liverpool previously paid for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2017.

The 24-year-old currently has two years remaining on his existing deal at the Emirates and struggled with injuries last season while also being pushed out of a starting role due to the impressive performances of Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

However, the qualities displayed across 115 senior appearances for the Gunners have convinced Fulham to spend big.

Smith Rowe was capped three times by England in 2021 and 2022, scoring one goal, but started just three Premier League matches last season as Arsenal finished Premier League runners-up for the second consecutive campaign behind Man City.

Fulham Reach Agreement for 'Promising' Talent: Medical Tests Soon
Emile Smith Rowe's Arsenal exit has been confirmed as the club reached an agreement with local rivals Fulham for the midfielder.

Emile Smith Rowe Set to Sign for Fulham
Record Signing for Fulham
According to Fabrizio Romano, Fulham have reached an agreement with Arsenal for the transfer of Smith Rowe after their second bid was accepted. The deal will be worth £34 million(£27 million plus £7 million in add-ons).

This is a club-record transfer for Fulham, making Smith Rowe their most expensive signing. Their previous biggest signing was that of OGC Nice's Jean Michael Seri, who signed for £27 million in the summer of 2018.

Fulham's first bid, worth £30 million was rejected a few weeks back. However, the West London club were in no mood to accept defeat since they had identified Smith Rowe as the priority transfer target.

The money received from this deal will be accounted for as pure profit as Smith Rowe graduated from Arsenal's Hale End academy. This will help the club to stay within the financial boundaries drawn by the Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Medical to Take Place Soon
Fulham have also agreed on personal terms with Smith Rowe, whose focus was on getting more playing time. The Gunners' midfielder has been a victim of recurring injuries in recent years and thus had to miss a chunk of his team's matches. If he can stay fit at Craven Cottage, manager Marco Silva will have no second thoughts about throwing him into the starting lineup.

Dharmesh Sheth also added that Smith Rowe's medicals were booked for this week, meaning the move could become official soon. Once the medicals are completed, he is expected to join the club's pre-season training camp in Portugal.

The Cottagers should be delighted with the signing of an attack-minded player like Smith Rowe, especially after they lost forward Bobby De Cordova-Reid to Leicester City on a free transfer earlier this month. The 24-year-old will give Fulham some much-needed attacking impetus and urgency in the final-third.

In Smith Rowe, Fulham have secured one of the most "promising" English youngsters and are the right environment for him to elevate his career.

Fulham planning new McTominay bid
Fulham are planning to submit a new offer for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay once they complete the capture of Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal, according to Sky Sports News.

Reporter Dharmesh Sheth claims that the Whites are ready to make new attempt to lure the Scottish international to Craven Cottage having had a £17m offer rejected earlier this summer. The 27 year-old midfielder, who has made 252 appearances for the Red Devils since coming through the United youth academy, is apparently Fulham top target to replace Joao Palhinha after the Portuguese international's departure for Bayern Munich earlier this month.

Fulham 'interested' in transfer move for former QPR man who is out of contract next year
Fulham have the chance to bring in some new faces over the coming weeks

Fulham are 'interested' in a move for Fenerbahce wing-back Bright Osayi-Samuel this summer, according to a report by Turkish news outlet SporX. Fellow Premier League side Southampton are also said to be keen on the Super Lig man.

Osayi-Samuel, who is 26-years-old, is facing an uncertain future in this window and a return to England has been touted. He has been on the books at QPR in the past.

Fulham could see him as someone to bolster their ranks as they prepare for another year in the top flight under Marco Silva. They have been patient with their recruitment over recent times as they wait for the right players to become available.

The Nigeria international has 14 caps under his belt to date and started out at Blackpool. He rose up through the ranks at Bloomfield Road before going on to make 79 appearances for their first-team in all competitions, chipping in with five goals.

QPR snapped him up in 2017 and he became a key player for the Hoops. He made 115 outings for the R's before heading over to Turkey.

Osayi-Samuel has played 126 matches for Fenerbahce and has found the net on six occasions, three of which came in the last campaign. His contract with the Istanbul-based team expires in next year so they risk losing him for free in June 2025 if they don't cash in on him now or in January, assuming he doesn't pen an extension anytime soon.

He admitted back in 2021 that he turned down Manchester United and Arsenal earlier in his career when he joined Blackpool: "Manchester United was following me when I was young but I chose Blackpool.

"I think the decision I made at that time was the most important decision in my life. When such an offer comes; When it comes to offers from teams like Manchester United and Arsenal, you want to go.

"When I met my Mum and Dad, we thought it would be difficult for me back then. I went to Blackpoool to improve myself and to advance my career. I always try to make the right decisions for myself."

He added: "There are no limits for me. I believe that if I work hard and improve my weak points, I can rise to the top and become one of the best wingers in the world."

Fulham have brought back Ryan Sessegnon and may have identified Osayi-Samuel as a possible option on the other flank of defence. Silva said back in May that he wants some signings through the door: "Two great seasons, but we cannot stand still. We have to move on, if you want to be more competitive, to be always better as a team.

"On and off the pitch, we have to do things different. We have to be more ambitious as well, in the market for example, to get the best deals we can for the club."

The Whites' first game of the new campaign is an away trip to Manchester United. They then host newly promoted Leicester City at home the weekend after.

Emile Smith Rowe's reasoning behind leaving Arsenal for Fulham explained, its about more than first team football
HITC understands that Fulham have reached a full agreement with Arsenal for the signing of Emile Smite Rowe.

Emile Smith Rowe was frustrated by his lack of game time at Arsenal last season and it appears a move for the Gunners academy graduate is on the cards.

HITC had previously reported that Marco Silva's Fulham were closing in on an agreement with Arsenal for the signing of the Englishman with that now being fully agreed.

Mikel Arteta, following Arsenal's pre-season friendly against Bournemouth, suggested that things were going on behind the scenes for Smith Rowe.

The England international has left The Gunners' pre-season tour of American to head for a medical with Fulham.

The Cottagers have fended off rival interest which has mainly come from London rivals Crystal Palace with the Eagles looking for a potential replacement for Michael Olise, who joined Bayern Munich earlier this summer.

HITC previously confirmed that Arsenal wanted a deal worth £35million for Smith Rowe and they have sanctioned a deal worth £34million for the midfielder .

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was happy to keep Smith Rowe, but the club's hierarchy – who have just finalised the capture of Riccardo Calafiori – want some sales to help them bolster other areas of their squad which includes in midfield and attack.

As well as Smith Rowe, Arsenal are prepared to let Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah depart the club, the English striker has agreed personal terms with Marseille but the Gunners want £50 million for the academy graduate.

Nelson has attracted interest from West Ham United with the winger also told he is free to leave the club, despite signing a new contract with Arsenal last summer.

Smith Rowe's England hope
Sources have told HITC that Smith Rowe made it clear to Arsenal that he wanted first team football at the club hence why he is now leaving the club.

As well as this, Smith Rowe is understood to still hold out hope of a call up by the England national team under a new manager, leading into World Cup 2026.

HITC understands that he feels he is good enough to be in the England picture once again, but he will only return with first-team action.

Former England manager Gareth Southgate once told The Mirror of Smith Rowe back in 2021: "He is a player we like a lot and he was very close to making this squad."

However, with a new man in charge of the national team, Smith Rowe will be hoping to finally break into the first team on a regular basis and add to the three caps he has for his country.
