Fulham agree deal to re-sign Joachim Andersen
Fulham are close to securing a deal to bring Joachim Andersen back to Craven Cottage from Crystal Palace, according to The Athletic.

After a long-drawn-out negotiation process, the two clubs agreed a deal worth around £30 million, including add-ons.

The Danish defender impressed during a loan spell with Fulham in the 2020/21 season and is now set to return to the west London side.

Marco Silva's side have been actively searching for defensive reinforcements following the departures of Tosin Adarabioyo to Chelsea and Tim Ream to the MLS.

Andersen has been a pivotal figure for Palace since joining from Lyon in 2021, playing a crucial role in the backline.

However, with Fulham offering a substantial fee, Palace have been persuaded to part ways with the 28-year-old.

The Cottagers hope to complete the deal swiftly as they prepare for their upcoming Premier League fixtures.

Andersen is a seasoned defender with leadership qualities and is expected to bolster Fulham's defensive line.

He will become their fourth summer signing following the addition of Emile Smith Rowe, Jorge Cuenca, and Ryan Sessegnon.

The Eagles already have a replacement lined up for Andersen as they are closing in on a deal for Wolfsburg centre-half Maxence Lacroix.

The French international defender worked with manager Oliver Glasner and is reportedly keen on a reunion with the Austrian.

At the moment, it is unclear if the move for Andersen will affect Marc Guehi. The Eagles have rejected four bids from Newcastle United for the England international centre-back, insisting on £65 million paid upfront.

Newcastle have reportedly started looking for alternatives to Guehi. They are considering a move for Bayer Leverkusen star Edmond Tapsoba and Chelsea's Axel Disasi.

This development could be a welcome boost for Palace. The Eagles are wary of losing their centre-back pairing in the same window in which they lost their top playmaker, Michael Olise.

Fulham strike £30 million agreement for Crystal Palace ace, club clarify Marc Guehi stance as a result
HITC understands that Fulham have struck an agreement with Crystal Palace for a key defensive signing this summer.

Marco Silva's Fulham have been busy in the summer transfer market with the Cottagers losing Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.

Fulham have located a replacement for Palhinha in Sander Berge, with HITC reporting earlier this week that Fulham had reached an agreement with Burnley for the Norwegian midfielder.

The Cottagers lost Tosin Adarabioyo to Chelsea earlier this summer and it now appears as if the West London club are closing in on a replacement this summer.

Fulham strike Joachim Andersen agreement
Sources have told HITC that Fulham have struck an agreement with Crystal Palace over the signing of Danish defender Joachim Andersen.

It is our understanding that the West London club have struck a £30 million deal with the Eagles for Andersen and personal terms are also understood to be close to being finalised.

HITC understands that Andersen showed a willingness to make a return to Craven Cottage after talks over a new deal stalled with Palace.

Palace, for their part, are now set to back away from any possible deal that would see Marc Guehi leave the club – although Newcastle United still believe a deal could happen.

Newcastle had upped their offer for Guehi to £65 million, which was understood to be the price tag set by the South London club, but Palace still rejected that offer and now a deal looks even more remote, despite there being some belief within St James' Park that a deal could happen.

Palace now set to look for replacements for Andersen
Sources have told HITC that Palace were already looking at potential replacements for Guehi, in case he departed the club, but the Eagles are now looking for Andersen replacements.

We had previously reported that Palace are keen on Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who looks to have no future at Stamford Bridge, and Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix.

HITC had reported that Chelsea were prepared to omit Chalobah from their Premier League squad and the English defender now accepts a move away from Stamford Bridge is the best move for his career.

Chalobah would be an interesting addition at Selhurst Park and a defender will be needed for Palace this summer with Andersen now looking set to move to Fulham.

Fulham agree £30m deal with Crystal Palace for Joachim Andersen, while Eagles remain keen on ex-France Under-21 defender as possible replacement

Marco Silva's side closing in on re-signing Andersen on a permanent deal

Fulham have agreed a fee of £30m including add-ons with Crystal Palace for defender Joachim Andersen.

Last week, Mail Sport reported the west London side tabled a second offer, worth an initial £25million and an additional £5m in add-ons.

They have now upped the offer and a deal between both sides for 28-year-old Denmark star Andersen has been struck.

Andersen's centre-back partner Marc Guehi has been a target for Newcastle, who have had multiple bids rejected for the £65m-rated England international.

The Magpies are now monitoring Liverpool's Joe Gomez as a possible alternative and earlier in the window, Palace chairman Steve Parish conceded that it would be unlikely that the club would sell both Andersen and Guehi.

'I can't imagine a situation where we would lose both of our centre-backs', he told the BBC.

'We have got to sit and think about the right thing to do.

'If both of them are still here at the end of the window I wouldn't be surprised.'

Palace remain keen on Wolfsburg's Maxence Lacroix and Andersen's impending departure could accelerate a move for the Frenchman.

Andersen and Guehi have been at the centre of the defensive structure at Palace for a number of years, with the latter moving to the club the same summer as his team-mate.

The Dane played for Fulham on loan from Lyon in the 2020-21 season, before arriving at Selhurst Park.
