Fulham 'in talks' to sell striker ahead of transfer deadline
Fulham are reportedly in talks with Bragantino over the potential sale of striker Carlos Vinicius.

The Cottagers have four centre-forward options in their squad, including their current first-choice striker Rodrigo Muniz.

In addition to Vinicius, Silva can also call upon Raul Jimenez and Jay Stansfield, with the latter back at Craven Cottage after spending last season on loan at Birmingham City.

Stansfield scored against his former loan club in Tuesday's EFL Cup tie at St Andrew's, finding the net just four minutes after Jimenez had given the visitors a 10th-minute lead.

Silva seemingly views Jimenez and Stansfield as his main alternative options to Muniz, leaving Vinicius surplus to requirements at Craven Cottage.

Fulham in talks over Vinicius sale
Vinicius has mustered eight goals and provided three assists in 48 matches since joining Fulham from Benfica in the summer of 2022.

The 29-year-old was sent out on loan to Galatasaray for the second half of last season and has not made the matchday squad for any of Fulham's three competitive games this season.

Vinicius has one year left on his contract with an option for Fulham to extend by a further 12 months, but there is a strong possibility that he will leave the club before the summer transfer deadline.

According to The Athletic, Fulham are currently in negotiations with Brazilian side Bragantino over a potential transfer.

While a deal has not been finalised, there is a belief that an agreement could be struck for around the €3m (£2.5m) mark.

Who else could leave Craven Cottage?
Vinicius is not the only Fulham player who could be sold before the transfer deadline, with full-back Kevin Mbabu said to be on the verge of leaving the club.

As per the Standard, the Swiss international is close to joining Danish champions FC Midtjylland on a two-year deal.

Fulham have held positive talks with Midtjylland and Mbabu is now expected to fly to Denmark on Thursday to undergo a medical.

Mbabu has made just seven competitive appearances since joining Fulham from German side Wolfsburg in the summer of 2022.

The 29-year-old spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Servette and joined Augsburg on loan for the duration of last season.

Fabrizio Romano says Fulham are 'in negotiations' with £23.9m Everton transfer target
Fulham are said to be battling a Premier League rival for a winger ahead of Friday night's deadline.

Fulham are said to be ramping up their efforts to recruit another player ahead of Friday night's transfer deadline. The Cottagers have already been bold this window following to loss of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich as expected.

Emile Smith Rowe, Jorge Cuenca, Sander Berge, Ryan Sessegnon and Joachim Andersen have all joined, with more than £80million spent in all. Marco Silva wants to kick on from last season's efforts and the board are getting behind him, potentially adding another piece or two ahead of the deadline.

Fulham are being linked with a move for Olympique Lyon star Ernest Nuamah, who could leave the French before the deadline. Fabrizio Romano has tweeted: "Fulham and Everton have both approached OL for Ernest Nuamah as he could leave Lyon. Negotiations took place with both clubs."

Nuamah's situation is a pretty strange one, with the 20-year-old only joining the French club on a permanent deal this summer following a loan deal last season. The winger made 29 league appearances during his loan spell from Molenbeek, scoring three times.

The 12-time Ghana international joined Lyon permanently this summer for €28,5 million (£23.9million) and the deal was likely a result of an obligation to buy clause that came into force when a certain number of appearances were made. That has become obvious with these claims that Lyon already want to sell the 20-year-old ahead of the summer deadline on Friday night.

Fulham are said to be battling Everton for the deal, hoping to add more depth out wide having lost Bobby Decordova-Reid over the summer. Sessegnon will add competition out wide, while Smith Rowe can also play that role, but it seems Silva wants more competition on the flanks. A deal would be a pricey one, though, unless there is an initial loan deal.

Fulham 'eye' shock move for Newcastle United ace as Eddie Howe issues 'careful' response
Miguel Almiron is reportedly wanted by Fulham ahead of Friday's summer transfer deadline.

The Paraguayan was a target for MLS side Charlotte FC earlier this month, but a deal failed to progress before the transfer window closed in the USA. Almiron started as Newcastle United won on penalties against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, but his position as a first-team regular under Eddie Howe has come under threat in recent times.

Jacob Murphy has been given the nod over him in the first two Premier League matches of the season and whilst Howe has stressed he is keen to keep hold of the 30-year-old, interest in him may see a late move out of the club. TalkSport report that Fulham have shown an interest in signing him, but they face a race against time to complete a deal should they want that to progress.

The summer transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday, meaning the Cottagers have less than 48 hours to strike a deal for the former Atlanta United man. Marco Silva's side lost Joao Palhinha earlier this summer, but have spent well in trying to replace the Portuguese international.

Emile Smith Rowe, Joachim Andersen and Sander Berge have all moved to the London club in deals costing them more than £20m apiece whilst they have also signed Villareal's Jorge Cuenca and confirmed the re-signing of Ryan Sessegnon on a free transfer. Asked about the potential of Almiron leaving before Friday's deadline, Howe responded: "Honestly, I've got no idea.

"I certainly wouldn't want to be losing too many players without replacing them, if any. Our squad isn't as deep as people would expect so we've got to be very careful before letting players go."

Fulham were 2-0 victors over Birmingham City on Tuesday night to book their place in Round Three of the Carabao Cup and an away tie at Preston North End. They face newly-promoted Ipswich Town this weekend before back-to-back home games against West Ham and then Newcastle United following the international break.

The Magpies, meanwhile, were handed a tie away at AFC Wimbledon after their win at the City Ground. The Dons beat Ipswich on penalties in one of the shocks of the round.

Donnell Signs New Deal

The Club is pleased to announce that Chris Donnell has signed a new contract until the summer of 2025, with a Club option for a further year.

Donnell joined Fulham last summer from Perth Glory after a successful trial period at Motspur Park. The 20-year-old starred for our Under-21s side during the first half of the season, before spending the rest of the campaign out on loan at Airdrieonians, where he made 16 appearances across all competitions.

The midfielder has captained our Young Whites in both of our games so far this season, with Hayden Mullins' side getting off to a fantastic start to the new campaign by beating Shrewsbury Town and Reading in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy and PL2 respectively.

After putting pen to paper on his new contract, Chris told fulhamfc.com: "I'm buzzing to sign a new deal and hopefully I can kick on now.

"Last year was a big year for me. I enjoyed spending the first six months of the season here, but then I felt it was right to go out on loan and get some First Team minutes, which I really enjoyed and I learned a lot.

"This year, I want to add numbers to my game and influence the team; whether that's defensively or going forward with goals and assists."

Fulham face Miguel Almiron transfer problem after Eddie Howe's Newcastle United warning
Fulham may have left it too late to seal a deal for Newcastle United's Miguel Almiron

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is adamant he will not lose key first team players without replacing them before Friday's transfer deadline. Those stern words came as questions continue to swirl over the likes of Kieran Trippier and Miguel Almiron and their respective futures at St James' Park.

Shortly before Newcastle's win over Nottingham Forest, news broke of Fulham's new interest in Almiron's services. The Magpies value the winger at £15m and have been open to selling in recent weeks - but the admiring eyes in west London may just have left it too late to make their move.

Almiron's most likely destination looked to be North America earlier this month, with Charlotte FC trying to muster the cash to bring the 30-year-old back to the MLS after his five-year Premier League stint. Chronicle Live understands Almiron's former club, Atlanta United, were offered the chance to make a move this summer but had no interest in pursuing a deal.

The problem Newcastle, and Fulham, now face is there may not enough time to find a replacement should Almiron depart. After all, it was only a matter of days ago that Howe admitted it was unlikely his side would sign both a winger AND a central defender. A deal for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi still remains on the table.

Newcastle have admired Chelsea's Noni Madueke but held off making a bid for the player, who is determined to fight for his place among a crowded pack of superstars at Stamford Bridge, and have missed any opportunity to pounce on that particular target. Other candidates have been tracked during the summer months but it will take late, swift negotiations to get any through the door should Almiron depart.

Howe, speaking after Newcastle's tense penalty shootout victory over Forest, said: "I certainly wouldn't want to be losing too many players without replacing them, if any. Our squad isn't as deep as people would expect so we have to be very careful before letting players go."

'Almost there' - Fabrizio Romano confirms Wolves set to beat Fulham to £21m signing
Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on a marquee signing before the transfer deadline.

The Old Gold are reportedly set to complete the acquisition of Brazil international midfielder Andre from Fluminense with talks at an advanced stage.

Transfer news specialist Fabrizio Romano reported late on Wednesday night that the final details are being ironed out for Andre to move to Molineux, with the deal "almost there". Wolves are set to pay around £18.5 million plus £2.5 million in add-ons, beating Premier League rivals to the player's signature.

The Athletic reports Fulham saw a similar bid rejected for Andre earlier in the transfer window after tracking the midfielder for 18 months. In the end, the Cottagers moved on from Andre to consider pursuits of Scott McTominay and Sander Berge, the latter of whom is now a Fulham player.

Wolves have limited budget available before the end of the current window but have decided to take the plunge on Andre, who they believe is a long-term successor to fellow Brazil star Joao Gomes. The imminent signing won't mean an exit for any of Wanderers' current crop.

A graduate of Fluminense's prestigious academy, Andre has racked up an impressive 197 appearances for the Brazilian side. The 23-year-old has experienced glory in winning both the Copa Libertadores and Recopa Sudamericana while wearing the burgundy, white and green stripes.

Andre has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several years, with Liverpool, West Ham United and Fulham all keen last summer. The five-time Brazil international finally looks set to complete his move to England, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

Fulham considering late Middlesbrough transfer raid
Fulham are showing interest in Middlesbrough centre-back Rav van den Berg before the transfer window closes.

That's according to Football Transfer journalist Jacque Talbot, who has suggested the 20-year-old could be a target for the Premier League side.

Van den Berg only joined Middlesbrough last summer, when he signed for the Championship club from PEC Zwolle in his native Netherlands.

The defender then enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at The Riverside Stadium last season, as 'Boro finished eighth in the second-tier standings.

Now, it seems as though those performances could see him given the opportuity of a move to the Premier League, as Fulham look to replace some of their departing centre-backs before the deadline.

The intriguing £15m Fulham winger transfer swoop that could supercharge attacking threat
Fulham are reported to be lining up a transfer bid for a rivals' fans' favourite - but can he still cut the mustard in the Premier League?

One of the classic transfer window tropes is the sudden rejuvenation of old rumours just as the deadline approaches – seemingly dead-and-buried stories from back in May and June which suddenly spring back to life like the villain at the end of a bad horror movie. One such contrived jump scare could be coming the way of Newcastle United fans.

Earlier this summer, fan favourite and St. James' Park stalwart Miguel Almirón was linked with a move to either Saudi Arabia or the United States, but a deal never materialised and the Paraguayan winger seemed set to stay put for a seventh season with the Magpies – but now, according to Newcastle newspaper The Chronicle, he could be leaving after all, with Fulham said to be registering late interest.

That begs two questions, one easier to answer than the other – would it be sensible for Newcastle to sell the 30-year-old? And does he still have enough about him to improve Marco Silva's attack down at Craven Cottage?

The first is the easier of the two to answer. Almirón has lost his place at the top of the Magpies' pecking order to Jacob Murphy and is no longer the key player that he was a couple of years ago. The only problem with selling him is that a replacement would need to be found, whether it was back-up to Murphy or, more likely, a new starter. They were linked earlier in the summer with Chelsea's Noni Madueke, and perhaps that's a deal that could be resurrected as well, although his hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend might give the Blues pause for thought on that front.

Either way, as long as they have someone lined up it's probably wise for Newcastle to get some cash for Almirón now – he appears to be a little past his peak now and with two years left on his contract, his value will depreciate rapidly quite soon.

For Fulham, however, the picture is less clear. The Cottagers currently have two right wingers on the books in the muscular form of Adama Traoré and the slightly less imposing figure of Harry Wilson, who can at least play elsewhere in midfield and attack if pushed aside by an incoming winger. Does Almirón offer more on the pitch than either of the players they have now?

Traoré has had the starting gig for both of Fulham's Premier League matches so far this season despite only being named in the starting line-up once in the 2023/24 season, and he's given us the Adama Experience that we know and love – enormous speed, lethal runs into dangerous areas and then, a little too often for comfort, a slightly wayward final ball, although he did set up Fulham's opening goal in the 2-1 win against Leicester City last weekend.

If you want creativity and inch-perfect crosses from the flank, Traoré both is and isn't your man – he can break the lines as well as almost any winger in the world, but his accuracy with passes and crosses isn't the best. Nevertheless, for all that his final ball doesn't come with the best reputation attached, he has consistently created more chances and completed more crosses than Almirón throughout their respective careers, as has Wilson. Neither of Fulham's options are truly first-class playmakers, but Almirón generates an especially low volume of shooting chances for his team-mates. Over the past year, for instance, Traoré created just over 4.5 shooting opportunities for every 90 minutes he played, Wilson managed just over 3.5 and Almirón a mere 2.6. 92% of wingers in the 'big five' leagues did better than that.

In other words, if you're signing Almirón, you're probably doing it to add a goal threat – the man on the end of the final ball rather than the man playing it. And at his best, he has been pretty dangerous inside the area, scoring 11 in the Premier League in his best season in 2022/23, off an xG of precisely eight. Traoré, by comparison, has a much lower ceiling and has never managed more than five in a league season, while Wilson has only hit double figures in the Championship.

But while Almirón has a high top end, those 11 goals were only one less than he totalled in his other five seasons on Tyneside. Played in a more advanced role and given more chances to get on the end of direct passes and he was dangerous - however within a few months Eddie Howe noted enough of a decline in output to move Murphy ahead of him.

So what can Almirón do that his potential rivals for a starting spot at Fulham can't? The key could be in his work off the ball, which is greatly underappreciated. Last season, the Paraguayan averaged an impressive three ball recoveries per game, around four times as many as Traoré. For all the Spaniard's physique, he isn't especially helpful tracking back or pressing high up.

Almirón makes more tackles and forces more turnovers then either of Fulham's current wingers by a long chalk – so while his output in the final third may not represent a major upgrade, he could be a cost-effective purchase if Silva is keen to improve the efficacy of the press and provide some extra defensive cover down the flanks without compromising the amount of attacking threat his team have too much.

No price tag is mentioned in The Chronicle's report - although previous reports have valued him at around £15m - which makes it tough to assess whether Fulham would be getting a bargain or Newcastle a fair price for a player who has earned the abiding love of the fans through hard work and flashes of flair. But there is certainly a point at which this deal could make sense for both sides.

Burnley player "offered" to Fulham, Everton & Tottenham as £5m price-tag mooted
Burnley have reportedly offered midfielder and club captain Josh Brownhill to Premier League clubs in the dying embered of the transfer window, in what continues to be somewhat of a potential Turf Moor exodus.

You wouldn't call Burnley's transfer window dull by any stretch, and GIVEMESPORT have claimed that another departure could be leaving the Lancashire outfit, with the Clarets hierarchy reportedly offering Brownhill out for a price-tag of £5 million.

Brownhill has been integral to Burnley since he arrived from Bristol City for a fee of £9 million in the January 2020 transfer window.

The midfielder has already started his return to the Championship in style with impressive performances and two goals to his name after three games, but the latest update on his future suggests that Burnley could be looking to sell him, continuing the Clarets' trend this summer of letting first-team players depart.

Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Fulham are said to have been offered the chance to land Brownhill's services, and it remains to be seen if he departs or stays beyond Friday's 11pm deadline.

Josh Brownhill offered to Fulham, Tottenham and Everton amid Trabzonspor bid
It's a departure that certainly won't go down too well with the Burnley faithful, but Brownhill may favour a return to the Premier League following his performances in a disappointing season for the Clarets last time out.

The on-going trend continues for Burnley, as Brownhill's exit could see an extraordinary 13th first-team departure this window.

The Clarets have already rejected a £3.4 million bid for the midfielder, from Turkish outfit Trabzonspor a few days ago, who had a four-year deal on the table for the 28-year-old with increased terms.

After taking on the club captaincy last season, Parker sees Brownhill as a key part of his challenge to get the Clarets back into the top flight, after handing the midfielder captaincy once more this season.

Speaking to the Burnley Express, Parker said: "It was a decision where I probably see Josh and his stature within the squad. Also, a bit of fluidity in terms of where it was last year as well.

"There are probably many captains in this team, or certainly the team that started on Monday night, but it was obviously Josh who got that."

Brownhill had also previously been excited about Parker's ambitions at Turf Moor, praising his tactical style.

In another article from the Burnley Express, Brownhill said: "We've seen [his impact] early on. "We've obviously worked really hard in pre-season, we've learned a lot from him already.

"As I say, there are different tactics and against Luton it was a different setup. But I think from game to game it will be different and that's what he's really good at."

Potential Josh Brownhill exit would hit Burnley and Scott Parker hard
Now into his sixth season, Brownhill has performed consistently over the years, and his potential exit would be major to Parker's men.

Josh Brownhill's career statistics at Burnley (all comps) - as per Flashscore
Season      Appearances      Goals      Assists
24/25 (so far)       4      2      0
23/24       35      4      3
22/23       48      7      10
21/22       38      2      3
20/21       36      1      1
19/20       10      0      0

Although Burnley have improved their squad various signings despite all the sales that have happened, the exit of Brownhill would be difficult to take at this stage of the window, and chairman Alan Pace will have a lot of work to do to find the right replacement.

With the deadline nearing its end, it's a massive risk from the Clarets to even consider the departure of such a fan favourite, who is reliable especially at Championship level.

However, with less than a year left on his contract, the hierarchy at Burnley may see it as time for them to cash in and could benefit Brownhill in the long run due to his own ambitions.

Whatever happens, it's set to be a cagey last few days of the window at Turf Moor.

Preview: Ipswich Town vs. Fulham - prediction, team news, lineups
Having faced two of the Premier League's most potent powerhouses in their first two games of the season, Ipswich Town face a friendlier fixture on Saturday, when Fulham head to Portman Road.

The Tractor Boys have some EFL Cup mistakes to rectify after losing on penalties against AFC Wimbledon in midweek, while Marco Silva's men got the better of Birmingham City.

Match preview
Only if Arsenal were visiting Ipswich's turf this weekend could McKenna's side have been handed a tougher start to life back in the Premier League, having been forced to pit their wits against Liverpool and Manchester City in their first two competitive battles of 2024-25.

After their engine blew in a 2-0 loss to the Reds, where their gung-ho first-half preceded a tepid second, Ipswich were briefly on cloud nine at the Etihad when Sammie Szmodics's opener trickled over the line, only for hat-trick hero Erling Haaland to inspire an inevitable Citizens comeback.

There was to be no immediate redemption tale for Ipswich in the EFL Cup either, as following a 2-2 draw with Wimbledon in normal time, Conor Chaplin's late leveller just delayed an embarrassing exit; Omari Hutchinson and Jack Taylor both fluffed their lines from the penalty spot.

With three losses to show from their opening three bouts of 2024-25, Ipswich now endeavour to avoid an unwanted first under McKenna, who has never lost back-to-back league home games in charge of the top-tier new boys.

Furthermore, not since the 2006-07 Championship season have Ipswich been condemned to defeat in their opening three games of a league campaign, and they have never opened a top-flight season with three straight losses, so unwanted history could be written on Saturday afternoon.

Likewise, Fulham have also been consigned to an early loss versus a Manchester outfit - going down 1-0 to Manchester United in the season's maiden match - but Silva's troops made Craven Cottage amends when Ipswich's 2023-24 Championship foes Leicester City paid a visit.

From North London to West London, two former Arsenal academy proteges in Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi propelled Fulham to their maiden success of the 2024-25 season, ensuring that Wout Faes's header - which was initially ruled out - would be meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Following on from that deserved success in terrible capital conditions, Fulham avoided sharing Ipswich's EFL Cup fate at the home of Birmingham City, where Raul Jimenez and former Blues loanee Jay Stansfield struck inside the opening 15 minutes to send the Cottagers into round three.

Revelling in their third win from their last four competitive matches, Fulham can end a 16-year streak at Portman Road, as the capital outfit have not won at least two of their opening three games of a top-flight campaign since the 2008-09 season.

However, Fulham have had Ipswich's number ever since the start of the 2016-17 Championship season, beating the Tractor Boys in each of their last six showdowns, including a 3-1 win at Portman Road in the fourth round of last season's League Cup.

Team News
No Ipswich players have reported any physical problems from the Man City or Wimbledon defeats, leaving Wes Burns (thigh), Nathan Broadhead (thigh), George Hirst (knee), Harry Clarke (calf) and Janoi Donacien (groin) in the medical bay.

McKenna did not hesitate to rotate for the EFL Cup, where new signings Chiedozie Ogbene, Kalvin Phillips, Dara O'Shea and Jens Cajuste were all named in the starting XI, but it would be a surprise to see any member of the quartet hold their place for Saturday; Jack Clarke may fare better.

Chaplin's last-gasp equaliser should also not be enough for him to keep his place over Szmodics, who is out to become the first Ipswich man since Adam Tanner in 1995 to score in their first two Premier League starts for the hosts.

While five Ipswich players are currently sidelined, the Fulham medical staff have been able to put their feet up in the early stages of the campaign, as Silva's men should have a clean bill of health once again this weekend.

The Cottagers boss handed a full debut to Sander Berge and a second Fulham start - and his first since his return - to Joachim Andersen in midweek, although that does suggest that the pair will return to the bench for the trip to East Anglia.

Indeed, Fulham could name the same Premier League side for the third game in a row, as Smith Rowe seeks to score in back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since December 2021.

Ipswich Town possible starting lineup:
Muric; Tuanzebe, Woolfenden, Greaves, Davis; Morsy, Luongo; Clarke, Szmodics, Hutchinson; Delap

Fulham possible starting lineup:
Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Pereira; Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Muniz

We say: Ipswich Town 1-2 Fulham

A refreshed set of Ipswich legs should not suffer a similar humiliation a la their Wimbledon woes, but McKenna's men are noticeably frail at the back and will certainly leave gaps for Fulham to exploit if they adopt a risky approach.

Silva's settled starting XI have had time to gel and were worthy winners over one newly-promoted side last weekend, so we expect the Cottagers to prolong Ipswich's wait for a first point of 2024-25.

Fulham considering surprise move for Miguel Almiron
Fulham might launch the offensive to sign 30-year-old Newcastle United attacker Miguel Almiron before the summer transfer window shuts down.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Miguel Almiron is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Toffees are mulling over a late move for the Newcastle United attacker, with the Magpies demanding around £30 million to part ways with the Paraguayan international before the summer transfer window shuts down.

Miguel Almiron and his Newcastle United journey so far
Miguel Almiron has enjoyed a decent spell with Newcastle United since arriving from Atlanta United in January 2019. The South American attacker was the Tyneside outfit's record signing when he moved to St. James' Park over half a decade ago. Since then, he has endured a topsy-turvy ride at the club.

While the 30-year-old enjoyed his most productive campaign thus far with Newcastle United in the 2022/23 season, he was not at the races last term. Almiron has turned out over 200 times for the Tyneside club while chipping in with 30 goals and 12 assists.

Meanwhile, Miguel Almiron's long-term future at Newcastle United has been uncertain for a long time, with the club ready to part ways with him since the winter transfer window. The Magpies have already informed the Paraguay international that he is free to depart from St. James' Park. He does not have a shortage of suitors, with Fulham among the clubs keen on signing him.

London calling?
Fulham's interest in Miguel Almiron is a tad bit surprising but understandable. The Cottagers have been keen on reinforcing their offensive department with multiple wide attackers since Willian and Bobby Decordova-Reid departed from Craven Cottage earlier this summer. So, several candidates, including Ernest Nuamah, have emerged on Fulham's radar.

However, Almiron is also a viable target, even though he is a decade older than Nuamah. The 30-year-old is well-experienced in the Premier League and can hit the ground running at Fulham. However, the Newcastle United outcast will not come cheap, with the Tyneside club demanding around £30 million to part ways with him in the summer transfer window.

The report suggests that Fulham might not be ready to cough up £30 million to secure Miguel Almiron's services in the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see if the Paraguay international's spell with Newcastle United ends before Friday's summer transfer deadline.

EXCLUSIVE: Fulham weigh up Van Den Berg move as Middlesbrough hold firm
Middlesbrough centre-back Rav van den Berg has emerged as a late transfer target for Fulham. However, FootballTransfers has learned that his current club is determined to do everything possible to retain him.

The Cottagers have made the Dutchman a target with Marco Silva still wanting to fill the gaps in defence. The club brought in Jorge Cuenca from Villarreal and Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace but still more names are needed for the backline after Tim Ream left to Charlotte FC and Tosin Adarabioyo to Chelsea.

Boro consider Van den Berg to be among their most valuable assets. The club will do everything they can to keep hold of the 20-year-old who joined up at the Riverside Stadium last summer from Dutch side PEC Zwolle.

Fulham had put in a lot of legwork for Andre, who was linked to Liverpool and West Ham last summer. The West London club made an offer for Andre worth less than €25m but Fluminense held out for a higher fee.

Fulham had been monitoring Andre since last year and Marco Silva and club executives held extensive talks with the player. But as revealed by FootballTransfers earlier this window, a deal collapsed.

Andre had interest from clubs in the Serie A too but always wanted a move to England to forge a place in the Premier League. Represtinves of the player have a great relationship with Wolves already.

Fulham keen but Everton now in advanced talks to sign 'incredibly fast' £24m ace
Everton have entered advanced talks with Lyon over Ligue 1 winger Ernest Nuamah as Sean Dyche's look to fight off competition from Premier League rivals Fulham.

A Fulham side coached by ex-Toffees boss Marco Silva have already ran into the brick wall in pursuit of one Olympique Lyonnais player this month.

The Cottagers wanted to bring in France Under 21 star Rayan Cherki. But despite making an offer in the region of Lyon's asking price – £12 million – a deal failed to materialise.

Cherki, who has also seen potential moves to Crystal Palace, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain fall by the wayside, could now complete an unexpected U-turn and extend a contract which was due to expire in the summer of 2025.

Team-mate Ernest Nuamah, however, remains on Fulham's radar.

But with Everton now holding advanced talks with Lyon, lightning could strike twice for Marco Silva's outfit.

Everton ahead of Fulham in Ernest Nuamah race
Everton have an advantage in their pursuit of Nuamah.

That is because John Textor – Lyon's co-owner – is hoping to complete a takeover of the Goodison Park side, while providing a pathway for some of Lyon's most talented players to cross the channel and end up on Merseyside.

Textor has already set up a deal that would see the £33 million-rated midfielder Orel Mangala join Everton, a few months after he left Nottingham Forest for Les Gones, HITC understands.

Fiorentina are reportedly looking to snatch Mangala from under Everton's noses. But The Toffees appear well placed to land at least one Lyon player before Friday's 11pm deadline.

While the stylish, press-resistant Mangala would provide further competition in a midfield boasting Tim Iroegbunam, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Garner, Nuamah is an exciting, direct winger who – alongside the twinkle-toed Iliman Ndiaye – could give a largely workmanlike Everton side a dash of magic.

After a loan spell in France from RWD Molenbeek – another of the teams under Textor's umbrella – Lyon signed Nuamah permanently for £24 million earlier this summer. Everton were reportedly keen at the time too.

Lyon star could follow in Mohammed Kudus' footsteps
HITC understands that any deal which takes from the banks of the Rhone to Stanley Park will also be a temporary one.

Ghana international Nuamah came through the fabled Right to Dream academy. And, like compatriot Mohammed Kudus, he moved to a major European league after first landing at Nordsjaelland in Denmark.

"Ernest is first and foremost a dribbler," Nuamah's former Nordsjaelland coach Flemming Pedersen said, via Breaking the Lines. "He is incredibly fast, has a huge acceleration, and a good agility.

He is primarily left-footed, but can also use the right. He is a great individualist with tremendous power, who has great potential to also become a skilled team player."

Orel Mangala, meanwhile, did not take part in Lyon's training session on Wednesday. Head coach Pierre Sage appeared to suggest that this was not due to any injury issues either, with Lyon seemingly keen to avoid an injury which could scupper a late-summer departure.

"Orel Mangala was not present," Sage told the official Olympique Lyonnaiss website. "It's a precautionary measure."

Everton, Fulham make approach for Ernest Nuamah
Everton and Fulham have reportedly enquired about signing 20-year-old Ghanaian winger Ernest Nuamah from Ligue 1 club Lyon.

According to an update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ernest Nuamah might leave Lyon despite completing a permanent move to the Ligue 1 club last month. Everton and Fulham are keen on signing the 20-year-old winger before the summer transfer window shuts down, with the two Premier League clubs submitting enquiries for the youngster.

Who is Ernest Nuamah?
Ernest Nuamah has established himself as one of the most promising young wingers in Ligue 1 since joining Lyon. A native of Kumasi, he spent most of his formative years in his homeland and graduated from the Right to Dream academy. The youngster's stock rose during his spell with Nordsjaelland.

Meanwhile, Lyon signed Nuamah on an initial loan deal from RWD Molenbeek last year before completing a permanent move this summer. The 20-year-old has turned out 35 times thus far for the Ligue 1 outfit while chipping in with three goals and two assists.

However, Ernest Nuamah's spell with Lyon might end after one year, with the Ligue 1 club ready to cash in on him before the summer transfer window shuts down. The Ghanaian winger's situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe, particularly from the Premier League, with Everton and Fulham enquiring about him.

Premier League move on the cards?
Everton's interest in Ernest Nuamah is understandable. The Toffees are keen on signing a wide attacker before the summer transfer window shuts down, with Sean Dyche seeking more quality in his squad. So, several candidates, including Largie Ramazani, have emerged on Everton's radar, with Nuamah also a viable target.

As for Fulham, the Cottagers have scoured the market for a wide attacker since Willian ended his spell at Craven Cottage. Since then, several options, including Reiss Nelson, have emerged on Fulham's radar. However, Nuamah is also a viable candidate to bolster the West London club's offensive department.

With Everton and Fulham submitting enquiries to sign the 20-year-old Ghanaian winger, a deal might be on the cards. However, time is running out for the two Premier League clubs to land the Lyon attacker before the summer transfer window shuts down.

Newcastle confirm two loan moves but another door shuts for Miguel Almiron
Newcastle United have announced that Jamie Miley and Max Thompson have left the club on loan – but it looks like Miguel Almiron will NOT be joining Fulham.

Newport County have completed the signing of Miley, subject to EFL approval, with the 20-year-old talent set to spend the remainder of the 2024/25 season with the League Two side after an impressive pre-season.
As for Thompson, the former England U18 international will spend the campaign at fellow League Two side Chesterfield FC. The 20-year-old spent the first half of last season in League One with Northampton.
Then to Almiron, The Mail's Craig Hope has today played down our hopes of selling the Paraguayan to Fulham, with this coming after his proposed move to MLS side Charlotte FC broke down earlier this month.
The Cottagers were linked with a late move last night, but the north east reporter insists he 'will not be signing' for the London club before tomorrow's 11pm deadline, leaving Newcastle's hopes of landing another right-winger slim at best, as things stand.

Report: Fulham Forward on the Brink of Exit
Carlos Vinicius: The End of a London Chapter?

Fulham's Brazilian forward, Carlos Vinicius, appears to be on the verge of a new adventure as Red Bull Bragantino opens talks over a potential transfer. The deal, valued at approximately £2.5 million, is still in negotiation, but the Brazilian side is eager to bolster their attack, and Vinicius seems to fit their requirements perfectly.

Vinicius, who arrived at Fulham from Benfica in the summer of 2022, has had a mixed spell at Craven Cottage. Scoring eight goals and providing three assists in 48 appearances, his contributions have been somewhat limited. Despite showing promise during a loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur, where he netted ten goals in 22 appearances, Vinicius has struggled to secure a consistent role in Marco Silva's squad.

Lack of Opportunities Under Marco Silva
Since his return from a loan stint at Galatasaray, where he spent the second half of the 2023/24 season, Vinicius has found himself sidelined. Notably absent from Fulham's first-team setup this summer, he hasn't made the squad for any of the club's opening three games. Silva's preference for Rodrigo Muniz, Raul Jimenez, and young prospect Jay Stansfield indicates that Vinicius' future at Fulham is all but sealed.

As it stands, the Brazilian forward has one year remaining on his contract, with an option for the club to extend it. However, with his exclusion from the team, it seems unlikely that Fulham will trigger that extension, making this transfer window crucial for Vinicius' career.

The Brazilian Market: A Strategic Move
For RB Bragantino, acquiring Vinicius could be a strategic move. His experience in Europe, combined with his familiarity with Brazilian football, makes him an attractive prospect for a side looking to add depth and experience to their forward line. The relatively low transfer fee also reflects the reality of his current standing at Fulham, offering Bragantino an opportunity to revitalise a player who has shown glimpses of real quality.

With the talks ongoing, the coming days will be decisive for Vinicius and both clubs involved. Fulham fans, however, may feel that the club is right to let him move on, as the team appears to be evolving in a direction that doesn't include the Brazilian forward.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis
Despite his occasional flashes of brilliance, particularly in cup competitions, Vinicius has never truly cemented his place in the starting XI. His eight goals and three assists in 48 appearances underline a struggle for consistency, which has ultimately led to his exclusion from the squad this season.

However, there's also a sense of disappointment. Fulham supporters would have hoped that a player of his calibre, with experience at clubs like Napoli, Benfica, and Tottenham, could have offered more, especially considering the club's ambitions to remain competitive in the Premier League. The decision by Marco Silva to rely on other forwards such as Jimenez and Stansfield suggests a shift towards a more dynamic and youthful attacking line-up, leaving little room for a player like Vinicius, who seems to be more suited to a different style of play.

That said, the potential transfer to RB Bragantino might be seen as a positive move for all parties involved. For Vinicius, it's a chance to reignite his career in his homeland, where he could play a pivotal role. For Fulham, it's an opportunity to offload a player who is clearly not in their future plans, freeing up resources to invest in areas that better align with Silva's tactical approach.

Fulham give green light for player to depart in rapid deal – Final details being worked on
Red Bull Bragantino have made plans to sign Carlos Vinícius from Fulham and have submitted a bid for him.

That's according to UOL, who report that that the Brazilian side have received the green light rom Fulham to move forward with talks.

According to the information, Fulham are more than happy to do a deal for Vinícius and talks are now taking place over a permanent deal for the 29-year-old.

The various parties involved are not hoping to work out the final details so they can reach a final agreement.

Red Bull Bragantino see the forward as 'ready to play' and immediately strengthen them to turn around their season.

The striker had been looked at by Corinthians and Fulham were willing to negotiate a deal worth €3-4m, but they ended up moving on to other targets.

The striker has no place in Marco Silva's plans moving forwards after returning from a loan spell at Galatasaray. His current deal has a year left to run and so Fulham are keen to move him on now.

That's left the door open for Red Bull Bragantino to make their move and they are now pushing to get a deal done, with Fulham proving to be more than compliant.

Exclusive: Fulham exploring late Edon Zhegrova move
Fulham are exploring a late move to sign Lille winger Edon Zhegrova before the transfer window closes, sources have told Football Insider.

Cottagers boss Marco Silva is keen to bring in attacking reinforcements after losing both Willian and Bobby Decordova-Reid earlier this summer.

Fulham have held a long-term interest in Zhegrova and are now weighing up a late move to sign the Kosovo international before 11pm on Friday (30 August).

However, a deal may be difficult to pull off after Lille qualified for the Champions League group stages.

Sources say it would take a "substantial fee" for the French outfit to even consider letting the 25-year-old leave the club before the end of the window.

Fulham want to sign new winger in late transfer twist
Zhegrova joined Lille in 2022 in a deal worth around £5million, signing a four-year deal with the French club, and has since made 90 appearances for the club.

During that time, he has found the net 21 times while providing 16 assists, grabbing attention from the Premier League with his performances.

Fulham are long-term admirers of the winger and consider him a primary target for the closing stages of the transfer window.

Having already completed a deal to sign Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal earlier this summer, Silva remains keen to bolster his attacking options.

Joachim Andersen, Sander Berge, Jorge Cuenca and Ryan Sessegnon have also arrived at Craven Cottage this summer as Fulham look to improve upon a mid-table finish last time out.

An ambitious move to sign Zhegrova is under consideration as clubs head into the final 24 hours of the window, but other options are also on their list.

The club had initially hoped that Willian would agree to an extension on new terms, but no deal could be agreed, forcing them into the market.

Approach made: Fulham battling to land a dream late signing for Muniz
Fulham have so far been busy over the summer transfer window, making five signings. They are hoping to improve on last season's 13th-place finish, in which they were just two points behind Crystal Palace in tenth. The Cottagers have certainly spent their money wisely after losing some crucial players, such as Joao Palhinha, over the summer.

With the transfer window open for around 24 hours, there is still time to see one more incoming at Craven Cottage. Marco Silva's side have recently been linked with one attacker who could add quality in forward areas.

Fulham target Ligue 1 winger
The player in question here is exciting Lyon and Ghanaian international winger Ernest Nuamah. According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, the Cottagers have 'approached' Lyon over a move for the 20-year-old this summer.

However, they are not the only Premier League side who want to sign Nuamah before tomorrow's deadline, with Everton also showing an interest in acquiring his services. Romano confirmed that 'negotiations took place with both clubs' within the last 24 hours over a potential move.

Why Nuamah would be a good signing
Despite being just 20 years of age, Nuamah is already quite experienced. He is already into his fourth season as a professional footballer and has 12 caps and three goals for the Black Stars at international level.

Last term, the enterprising winger played 39 games in all competitions, getting himself on the score sheet seven times and registering three assists. That included four goals and an assist in four outings for his previous club, Danish side Nordsjaelland, and three goals and two assists in 35 games for Lyon after he made the move to France last summer.

One of the Ghanian's biggest strengths is his dribbling ability. He loves to get into one-vs-one situations with a defender and look to take them on. This is certainly reflected in his FBref stats. Per 90 minutes, the youngster attempts an average of 5.74 take-ons and completes 2.38 of those, on average, which ranks him in the top 16% and 19% of wingers across Europe.

Nuamah dribbling stats from last 365 days
Stat (per 90)             Number
Progressive carries              5.04
Carries into the final third               3.08
Carries into the penalty box               1.87
Take-ons attempted                5.74
Take-ons completed                2.38
Stats from FBref

The 20-year-old, who stands at around 5'8, has quick feet and natural pace and likes to cut inside on his left foot to find a shot or pass. However, he is not a one-trick pony, and has been known to beat a defender on the outside and get to the byline, finding a cross for a teammate. Per 90 minutes, the youngster plays 3.55 crosses on average.

This is certainly where Nuamah could become a dream winger for Fulham's first-choice centre-forward, Muniz. The 23-year-old Brazilian is excellent in the air, averaging 4.28 aerial duels won per game as per FBref.

This is something that would certainly blend well with the number of crosses the Lyon winger gets into the box each game, and it could become a big method of finding the back of the net for the Cottagers. Last term, he scored two headers, so adding the crossing of Nuamah into the mix could make it an even more profitable way of scoring.

Football talent scout Jacek Kulig described the Lyon attacker as "outrageous", and adding such a deadly and dynamic footballer to their squad could well elevate the Cottagers this season.

Should they get a deal for the Ghanaian over the line, it could be a catalyst for climbing the table this season.
