Frogdrigo (Berbatov) Muniz

Ludlow Richard

According to Wikipedia, Muniz has appeared in over 50 PL games, scoring 15 times. Woodrow appeared in 6 PL games for us, and 24 PL games for Luton, scoring twice (admittedly in teams heading for relegation)

Muniz is now an established PL striker and could command a transfer fee of perhaps £30M. Woodrow is on loan from a Championship side (Luton) to another Championship side (Blackburn) and his value is perhaps £5M tops.

Much as I liked Woodrow while he was at Fulham, there really is a wide gulf between the two players.

C'mon lads, cheer up already.  We've got a nice team this season fighting for Europe with just nine games left to play, plus an outside chance on a cup run.  Why all the consternation?  I've always felt SL was a very good poster, have enjoyed reading his various takes on FFC.  And I've never had any issues with any other posters in this forum.  Peace on......

@Ludlow Richard thanks at least for providing an example of a post with some basic respect for the original point being made, a polite tone free from personal insult, and some factual/intellectual merit.

As for the preceding two pages, it takes some fantastic cognitive dissonance to claim moral superiority after responding to a comparison of two Fulham players on a few characteristics, with responses like "one of the worst things I have ever seen on any forum", "a ridiculously bad take", "nonsense", "an awful take", "nasty individual" and sock puppet allegations (happy to do anything required to disprove those btw). Not sure how anyone typing that can be surprised or hurt when they get called retarded in response.

Also particularly odd that 70% of is from someone who claims to have blocked me.

Somerset Fulham

Turn it in Angus, it's tedious.

"I'll try to (...) avoid getting in arguments with you "
You didn't need to delete what you originally posted. I'm not easily offended, and if anything, if you think that that type of post was okay then that says more about you than anything. This post is also passive aggressive but I guess it's okay when you do it. From now on I'll try not to get in to discussions with you on an online forum regardless of what you write.

Although I regret that is the case, because I often enjoyed your views and posts (look no further than here, as the original post in this thread is a great example) and I always had tons of respect for you as a poster.
No part of any of my posts till now has tried to be passive (to be passive aggressive).  I don't think you understand the concept.

Nevertheless, no hard feelings. I appreciate that you seem to be seem to have climbed down a bit since yesterday.

Please be aware tho that, as Telford angus has alluded to, your language is quite antagonistic. And to say it's a language thing because you're Serbian doesn't cut it.

People keep referring to you as young man but for someone that is young (if you are) then you don't seem to shy away from some mixing it with people more senior and who just might actually have more of a background to comment on certain things. Who knows maybe Telford Angus has a point and Muniz will slip away into obscurity. Even if it doesn't look like that now and it seems a bit silly. Ive never heard of him that i recall, but at least he's owning his comments. Other (worse) people would just ignore things as though they never actually said them. That's worse in my eyes. There must be plenty of people like that because loads of people were critical of Muniz and I don't see many wearing it now.

Let's move on. People seem fond of you, but I skip past your posts these days. In this case I was the one who posted the original comment (which has turned a bit sour) so your harsh comments was hard to ignore. Anyway.. I'm sure there are more people who skip past mine. Yeah peace

Give it a rest bud you and Angus have become rather tedious. As a matter of interest, how many other languages do either of you speak ?

SerbianLad

First of all your tone is quite patronising. I understand the concept of passive aggressive message, as that's not a concept that's exclusive to English language.

And as far as antagonistic messages are concerned, Angus' original message was extremely antagonistic.
Quote from: Angus Telford on March 21, 2025, 10:37:56 AMGotta say it's great I can take a few weeks largely off the forum and my legacy posts continue to occupy real estate in the minds of a couple  ::candle::

At this point Muniz remains a player that despite years of hope/hype still hasn't made the no 9 his own. So the Woodrow comparison stands.
If you don't think this is antagonistic, I don't think you understand the concept.

I've not seen people refer to me as young man, and I don't think I've ever said how old I am. That's besides the point. For example, I'd trust Lamine Yamal's opinion on football related terms more than anyone on this board and I'm pretty sure no one here is younger than him. And again, I've never said how old I am, and I' m pretty sure that I'm older than quite a few posters here.

I agree that people shouldn't pretend they never said things, but it's very weird to double down on that particular opinion after Muniz's recent form especially.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do about me, as I already said, I often enjoy your posts and I've certainly never tried to be rude or antagonistic, I've just tried to share my views.

So Muniz, eh? Doing quite well recently. I hope he can keep it up.

I mean one thing we can all agree is the argument/antagonism, in what would otherwise have been a purely football thread, started at the second post (from Jayffc - as usual)

'Nah not possible he's basically " the next cauley woodrow"  :slap:'

I was genuinely surprised by his sluggish start to this season and I've been an admirer of Muniz since the glimpses of class he showed in the Championship in his first season.

I thought Marco giving him a vote of confidence with the #9 shirt would really see him flourish from the off this season but for some reason he looked shorn of sharpness / confidence in the early games before Raul replaced him.

He had his chances in those early matches and who knows how differently his season would have unfolded had one or two gone in.

But now he's getting back to the form of his purple patch last season.

Long may it continue because he's clearly popular amongst the squad and certainly not short of talent.

He changed the momentum against Spurs when he came on, and not for the first time this season.

Logicalman

Following complaints regarding a number, and type, of comments on this thread, including a subsequent discussion between the mods, it has been decided to lock this thread and take action towards those involved, including bans and warnings.

This was not an easy decision, though such discipline actions were published, by the mods, just a short while ago, of implementing a zero tolerance towards members abusing other members and disrupting threads due to personal spats.

This site is not Facebook or X, etc. and a certain level of respect is expected by all members. Disagree or agree with others, that's what this forum is about, but a modicum of respect, without sarcasm towards such respect, is expected when doing so, please.

Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.
