John Pantsil to appear at charity football event

Posted On Wednesday, 2nd February 2011

John Pantsil will appear at a charity football tournament this weekend in Rotherhithe.

Ghana World Cup star John Panstil will appear at a charity football tournament this weekend in Rotherhithe.

The Fulham right-back will present awards to the winners of the Africa United tournament at Bacon's College.

The charity tournament on Sunday will involved a maximum of 32 teams in a knockout competition to win £500 and the "Princes of Africa" crown.

Proceeds from the day will go to Pantsil's charity PPKP (Pantsil Peace Kid Project), which aims to promote peace by enhancing the physical, mental and social inclusion and development of children through sport.

The project is aimed at African children between the ages of 8 and 12, especially those in the conflict-prone zones in order to unite them to appreciate the importance of peace.

Triple boost for Toon

Newcastle United, 15:39, February 2, 2011 , | No Comments

Alan Pardew has been boosted by the news Cheik Tiote, Kevin Nolan and Danny Guthrie will all be available to face Fulham on Wednesday.

The Toon boss would have faced a selection headache had the trio not returned to his squad, Tiote becoming available again after he served a three-match ban.

Skipper Nolan and Guthrie are both available again, Guthrie having made a quick recovery after he limped out of the clash with Tottenham because of cramp.

There will be no debut for new signing Stephen Ireland as Pardew believes he is two weeks away from being fit and he will join Steven Taylor (hamstring), Dan Gosling (knee), Alan Smith (ankle), Hatem Ben Arfa (broken leg) and Ryan Taylor (ankle) in watching from the sidelines.
