'I hear it's his No1 option' – Chelsea star wants to quit & join Fulham
Chelsea star Raheem Sterling is open to joining Fulham this summer despite growing interest from a number of clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 30-year-old is no longer demanding to play in Europe.

This comes following an unsuccessful loan spell at Arsenal last season, which has forced the forward to re-think his options ahead of a permanent transfer.

Brown told Football Insider in March that Sterling wants to stay in the Premier League in the upcoming season and is "certain" to leave Stamford Bridge.

Marco Silva's side have emerged amongst the front-runners to land the former England star ahead of Saudi rivals, and there is a feeling they could reach an agreement.

However, former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Sterling's wages could be a problem for Fulham and a loan deal may be preferable.

Chelsea plan to accept Fulham's Raheem Sterling offer
Brown told Football Insider in November that Mikel Arteta had not been impressed with Sterling given the former England international's performances in training.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has explained that a move to Fulham would force him to step up his game.

"Raheem Sterling has got to make a decision about where he sees himself," he told Football Insider.

"I hear a move to Fulham would be his preferred option, and it's something they're interested in.

"For me, that's the level he has to go and drop down to now where he could still do a job, and that's with no disrespect to Fulham.

"I don't think he can demand to play European football any more.

"When he's been at Chelsea and Arsenal, he's being expected to still be the elite-level Raheem Sterling as he was when he was at his best.

"They want him to score every week and solve the issues both sides have had.

"He's not that player any more, whether his legs have gone or he's just hit a wall, I don't know the reason.

"If he moves to Fulham, he will be out of that major spotlight at the big clubs and he can get his head down and focus on playing without the added pressure.

"There is interest from Saudi Arabia, but I think he wants to continue playing in the Premier League."

Fulham striker among Atalanta's options to replace Retegui
Tolu Arokodare, Rodrigo Muniz and Nikola Krstovic are among Atalanta's targets to replace Italy international Mateo Retegui.

Atalanta are still looking for replacements for Italy forward Retegui, who completed a €65m transfer to Al Qadsiah just a few days ago.

Three Atalanta targets to replace Retegui
Sources with direct knowledge of the matter tell me that Fulham forward Muniz is among Atalanta's options to replace the latest Serie A top goalscorer.

La Dea's priority remains Genk forward Arokodare, but it's a pretty tricky deal, so it's not guaranteed that the Nerazzurri will actually finalise it.

Chiesa could replace Lookman at Atalanta
Lecce star Krstovic is another name being discussed at the Gewiss Stadium. The Montenegro international is expected to leave this summer after scoring 19 goals in 54 appearances across his two-year spell at the Via del Mare.

In the meantime, Atalanta are also in talks with Inter over Ademola Lookman's sale and, as I revealed last week, Federico Chiesa is seen as a possible replacement for the Nigerian forward.

Samuel Chukwueze: Fulham take first step to land Super Eagles star
Samuel Chukwueze is expected to leave AC Milan this summer to get more game time elsewhere

English Premier League club Fulham have opened talks with AC Milan over the signing of Super Eagles attacker Samuel Chukwueze, Soccernet.ng reports.

Chukwueze has struggled to make a big impact since joining the Rossoneri from Fulham two years ago.

Last season was one of his worst, as he spent more time on the bench than he ever has in the career.

The 26-year-old Super Eagles winger got decent minutes when coach Stefano Pioli was in charge two seasons ago and Paulo Fonseca led the team for the first half of last season. But since Sergio Conceicao took over at the turn of the year, his situation deteriorated significantly.

Conceicao left Milan at the end of last season, and they appointed Massimiliano Allegri. But it does not seem like the Italian tactician believes in Chukwueze.

The Super Eagles star reported for pre-season camp very early on the first day. But he has gotten meager minutes in their pre-season games.

Recall that there have been speculations that Chukwueze will leave the Rossoneri since the turn of the year. And in recent weeks, it has seemed increasingly likely that he will exit Milan.

Meanwhile, Chukwueze has been linked to multiple clubs this summer. There have also been rumours of a LaLiga return, with Mallorca and Real Sociedad touted as potential destinations. But none of them has made a move yet.

Fulham have also been linked with the former Villarreal man, but nothing has happened yet.

Now, in a new development, per Italian football transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Fulham have taken an important step towards signing Chukwueze. This is as they have opened talks with the parties involved.

How much will Samuel Chukwueze cost Fulham?
Samuel Chukwueze is valued at €10 million on Transfermarkt. But AC Milan will demand a bit higher than that, as they will hope to recoup most of the €21.1 million they spent on him two years ago.

However, Fulham also know that the Rossoneri want to offload Chukwueze this summer. So they will not table a big bid.

For the Super Eagles star, he will hope to make a move that guarantees him playing time next season, especially with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations just a few months away.

Arsenal's dumping ground?! Fulham launch move for another out-of-favour Gunners star amid Reiss Nelson pursuit
Fulham are reportedly targeting a deal for Oleksandr Zinchenko, marking their second attempt to sign an out-of-favour Arsenal player this summer. Currently also in talks regarding a move for winger Reiss Nelson, the Cottagers have now approached the Gunners regarding the Ukrainian left-back, who has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.

Fulham move for Zinchenko after Nelson approach
    Arsenal want £15m for out-of-favour full-back
AC Milan could rival Fulham for Zinchenko

WHAT HAPPENED?

GiveMeSport has reported that Fulham have made an approach to sign Zinchenko, who struggled for minutes at Arsenal last season. The Ukraine international made only five Premier League starts through the campaign and now finds himself behind Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly in the pecking order under Arteta. Arsenal are open to selling him, with a reported £15 million ($19.8m) price tag placed on the Ukrainian.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Zinchenko's potential exit highlights Arsenal's shift in left-back priorities under Arteta. With the player in the final year of his contract, the Gunners are keen to cash in. Fulham could benefit by securing an experienced Premier League player, who could potentially challenge USMNT star Antonee Robinson.

DID YOU KNOW?

Fulham are also close to re-signing Nelson from Arsenal in a separate deal. The winger impressed during a loan spell last season before injury cut his campaign short. Talks are ongoing over a permanent transfer or another loan with an obligation to buy next summer.

Fulham sound out summer move for Oleksandr Zinchenko
Marco Silva's Fulham have made an enquiry about the availability of Arsenal utility man Oleksandr Zinchenko ahead of a potential move.

According to a report from GiveMeSport, Fulham are interested in acquiring the services of Oleksandr Zinchenko, and they have approached Arsenal to learn more about a potential transfer. While signing a full-back is not a top priority for the Cottagers, they are currently in talks with the Ukrainian international's camp.

Fulham have worked hard to convince Marco Silva to continue at the club amidst interest from the Middle East, and now they are looking to ensure he has enough quality in his squad to help them take the next step. While they haven't made any significant moves in this window, they are set to ramp up their efforts in the coming weeks.

They are eyeing a move for Arsenal's Zinchenko, who has fallen down the pecking order at the North London club following the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori and the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly. While he still has a year left on his deal, the Ukrainian full-back is no longer an important part of Mikel Arteta's plans.

Fulham are in talks to sign Zinchenko
As a result, the Gunners are open to sanctioning his departure. Fulham are well aware of his situation and have already made an enquiry to learn more about a potential transfer. The Cottagers have been in talks with the player's camp over a potential transfer.

The talks have been ongoing since early June, and they are now considering making a formal offer in the near future. Arsenal value him at around £15 million, and it could be considered a bargain fee for the 28-year-old who prefers playing as a left-back but can also feature in the centre of the park.

Given the amount of experience he has, Zinchenko could prove to be a valuable addition to their squad. However, signing a left-sided full-back isn't really a priority for them, but it could become one if Antonee Robinson decides to part ways with the club amidst interest from the Middle East.

Six Things We Learnt From Fulham 4 – 2 Al Ittihad
Fulham 4 – 2 Al Ittihad. Fulham end their pre-season tour in style. Sun-kissed, hungover, and regretting many of last night's decisions, I'm fighting through the pain barrier to reflect on yesterday evening's performance from Portugal. So please, do me the favour of reading through – it's not been an easy write-up. Anyway, let's get down to business. Here's six things we learnt from Fulham 4 – 2 Al Ittihad.

Harry Wilson, He's Done It Again
He can't stop scoring. A superb opening strike, alongside plenty of direct wing player – Harry is the attacking asset I see breaking out in 25/26. He's showed in both pre-season games that he is Fulham's most direct, creative winger – our only one who can score from distance too. If he can manage to put together a full season of fitness, Harry may well be our star man next year. 15 goal involvements perhaps? Josh King and Harry Wilson are the players to lift Fulham out of attacking purgatory. Signing Wilson to a new deal is paramount. Let's pray for a full bill of health for the Welshman!

Jorge Cuenca: Replacing Diop As Third Choice?
Comparing Diop and Cuenca's pre-season performances are light and day. Put Cuenca's superb first-half strike aside – Cuenca looked composed in possession and a steady, well-positioned force off it. The same can't be said for Diop. Despite a positive campaign last season, we all know Diop struggles with positioning and does have a mistake in him. It's harsh – Issa is no doubt a Premier League centre-back – but it's crucial Fulham shift players that are becoming surplus to requirements. Money needs to keep flowing; just letting players like Diop run down their deal is a step away from sustainability.

Cuenca has showed throughout this pre-season, and his limited minutes last campaign, that he is more than capable of being a starting top-flight centre-half – a top-quality third choice. Prevent the Spaniard from wanting to leave; increase his minutes. Recoup some money. Shift on Diop.

King Reigns, Pereira Fails: A Tale of Two No. 10s
King gives Kanté the runaround. What more can I say? I was gloating about his talents last time out against Nottingham Forest – yesterday, he got his goal. King broke lines, progressed the ball, and showed plenty of flair that he is now known for. The polar opposite of Andreas Pereira. Once Andreas came on, Fulham stopped creating chances, looked more sluggish in possession, and lacked a cutting edge. That's down to your number ten – that's Andreas Pereira.

Andreas' god-awful corner that caused Al Ittihad to go up the other end, win a penalty, and score, contrasted to Harry Wilson's terrific set pieces in the first half, shows who should be on Fulham's set pieces going forward – whilst his full display shows why Pereira should be moved to the other side of the Channel, with the shining light of Josh King taking his place.

A Glimpse of ESR's Potential
I slated Smith Rowe after his Forest performance. Yesterday, however, he looked the player we all want ESR to be. His goal showed how much better Emile looks when pushing the issue, looking to beat players, trying to play that killer ball. This time, that pass resulted in a goal! His lovely interchange of play with Harry Wilson showed how good the Hale End graduate looks when confident.

If Emile becomes the player we think he can, that will transform this Fulham team. It wouldn't shock me if it did – plenty of Fulham players needed a season and a full pre-season to reach their potential under Marco Silva. Look at Sasa Lukic – he needed 18 months! Yesterday showed what Emile can do in a Fulham shirt. Let's hope there is more to come.

Muniz Missing: Do Fulham Need a Number 9?
In both pre-season games, Rodrigo Muniz has struggled to make his mark. Muniz has come good in the back end of both of his Premier League campaigns but struggled massively in the first half of said campaigns. Could this poor pre-season be the start of that?

I don't think so – I have big hopes for Rodrigo this year. It looked like he was putting it together last season, and I expect this season to be the one where he scores throughout a full season. But if Newcastle come in and pay £60M for him, FFC would have to think about it – despite the current state of the striker market.

Same Old Bassey – Brilliant Again
I could copy and paste the Bassey excerpt from my last post-match review! In that case, I'll keep it short and sweet. Bassey is developing into a centre-back that could become one of the Premier League's best. His marauding runs show a development in possession that, combined with his physical traits, provide a top-class centre-back. Bassey could well be a £50M player in a year's time – his Al Ittihad performance showed why.

Newcastle United turn attention to Rodrigo Muniz
Newcastle United will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz from Fulham in the summer transfer window if they fail to land Benjamin Sesko.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Rodrigo Muniz is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the summer transfer window. So, the 24-year-old Fulham centre-forward has emerged as the latest target on the West London club's radar.

The South American attacker is a fallback option for Newcastle United amid uncertainties surrounding the viability of beating Manchester United to Benjamin Sesko's signature. So, the 2024/25 EFL Cup winners have submitted an informal enquiry over a possible summer move, with Fulham demanding around £40 million to part ways with him in the summer transfer window.

Rodrigo Muniz and his situation
Rodrigo Muniz has had to be patient since joining Fulham from Flamengo in August 2021. The 24-year-old has shown his potential since enjoying his breakthrough at Craven Cottage in the 2023/24 season. However, he was in and out of the starting lineup last term, with Raul Jimenez being the first-choice striker.

That meant Muniz did not even manage 1,500 minutes of game time across 36 appearances in all competitions. However, he contributed to 13 goals by finding the back of the net 11 times and providing two assists. Meanwhile, the Brazilian striker's stock in the market is high, with Newcastle United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Newcastle United's interest in Rodrigo Muniz is understandable. The Magpies are scouring the market for a striker this summer after parting ways with Callum Wilson as a free agent. In addition, the 2024/25 EFL Cup winners are in a spot of bother over Alexander Isak's long-term future, with the Swedish international ready to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window.

Several candidates, including Benjamin Sesko, have emerged on Newcastle United's radar, with Muniz also a viable target. While Sesko and Yoane Wissa are the top options on the Tyneside club's wishlist, they may miss out on both, making Muniz a fallback.

Meanwhile, Fulham will demand a sizeable fee to part ways with Muniz, slapping a price tag of £40 million on him. With Newcastle United submitting an informal enquiry over a summer move, it will be interesting to see if they firm up their interest in him.

Fulham have previously found success in signing players from Arsenal, and they are now reportedly looking to add Oleksandr Zinchenko to their squad. The Ukrainian international could be on his way out of the Emirates, as his future at the club looks increasingly uncertain.

Zinchenko is expected to struggle for regular playing time this season, with Arsenal working tirelessly to strengthen their squad. The emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly and the signing of Riccardo Calafiori have further limited his prospects, pushing him down the pecking order in Mikel Arteta's plans.

Fulham Hoping to Secure Zinchenko as Arsenal Reshape the Squad
Arsenal have shown a clear willingness to evolve their team, bringing in new talent while moving on from players who have served the club for several years. Zinchenko appears to be among those now deemed surplus to requirements, and his departure seems increasingly likely.

Remaining in London could be an attractive option for the defender, and this presents Fulham with a potential advantage. According to Star Sports, the Cottagers are already in discussions with Zinchenko's representatives as they explore the possibility of securing his signature.

Arsenal reportedly support the idea of his departure and is not expected to obstruct any ongoing negotiations. With opportunities at the Emirates limited, a move would benefit both parties.

A Practical Move for All Involved
Zinchenko is a talented player, but would find it difficult to secure meaningful minutes in Arsenal's current setup. Allowing him to leave would not only free up space in the squad but also help the club continue its strategic overhaul.

Fulham, on the other hand, would offer him the chance to play more regularly while remaining settled in London. This makes the potential move a practical one for the player and a sensible step for both clubs. As discussions continue, all sides will hope to reach an agreement that allows Zinchenko to reignite his career in the Premier League.
