Fulham pull out of Tyrique George deal in the final hour — report
More drama in the SW6

Tyrique George is set to stay with Chelsea, it would appear, as Fulham opted against completing the £22m transfer they had agreed with Chelsea. The Blues had given permission for the medical and for the move to go ahead, but Fulham had a change of heart in the final hours of tonight's Transfer Deadline Day.

Our friendly neighbors were going to let Harry Wilson join Leeds United (who were scrambling for attacking reinforcements after we stole Facundo Buonanotte away), but Fulham pulled the plug on that deal in the final hour for some reason, and then in turn they also pulled out of the George deal. Maybe it's an SW6 thing. (Though at least we got an improved deal for Nicolas Jackson out of that whole situation.)

With Buonanotte coming in and Marc Guiu recalled, it would seem that we now have one too many pairs of legs in the squad with George staying. So that's not ideal, and we'll have to see how the minutes might get shared.

Jonah Kusi-Asare move to Fulham collapses
Fulham failed at the eleventh hour in the pursuit of Bayern Munich forward Jonah Kusi-Asare (18). However, Kerry Hau reports that a departure in the current transfer window is still a possibility, with PSV and Anderlecht showing an interest in the Swedish youth international, and with the Belgian and Dutch transfer windows still open.

At one point, it looked as though Kusi-Asare to Fulham was set. All parties reached an agreement for a season-long loan move without a purchase option, which fell through. But with the imminent arrival of Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea after a new agreement was reached, which includes an increased loan fee, Bayern Munich intend to tie Kusi-Asare down to a new deal before loaning the forward out.

Werder Bremen was an option for the youngster, but they instead opted for more experience with the arrival of Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen. Slavia Prague have also shown interest in Kusi-Asare, and the Czech transfer window remains open.

Bayern Munich attempted to loan out youngster Jonah Kusi-Asare to Fulham, but the deal fell through:

    ❌ DEAL OFF! The paperwork could not be completed in time. Jonah Kusi-Asare will stay at Bayern Munich – for now. Several other clubs (PSV, Anderlecht, ...) remain interested. One to watch for the next days as the window is still open in other leagues. Bayern want to renew his contract before loaning him out.

Kevin: Fulham announce club-record deal for Shakhtar Donetsk winger
The Brazilian has already set his sights on a free-scoring campaign

Fulham have confirmed the club-record signing of winger Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Standard Sport understands the Brazilian has moved for a fee of £34.6million. He will stay at the club through the summer of 2030.

His arrival is a notable high point in what has been a dismal window for the Cottagers. He is just Fulham's third signing of the summer, following backup goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte and winger Samu Chukwueze, who joined on loan from AC Milan earlier on Deadline Day.

It caps a difficult Deadline Day, too, in which Fulham fell short in moves for both Chelsea's Tyrique George and Bayern Munich's Jonah Kusi-Asare.

Kevin, though, is ready to launch his Premier League career.

"I am happy to be in the biggest league in the world, at a huge club, too," he said after signing.

"I'm very flattered for everything that's happening in my life, and I hope to score a lot of goals this season and do great work here in Fulham."

Fulham owner Tony Khan added: "I'm very excited to officially welcome Kevin to Fulham!

"Kevin is a young and versatile talent with exceptional pace, and we believe that he can be an important addition to the team!"

Kevin's move to west London remained in jeopardy as Deadline Day dawned. Sporting CP reported interest in his services late in the day, and the player did not agree personal terms until after he had completed his medical.

Eventually, though, he joins as part of a twofold attacking reinforcement for Marco Silva's side, who have their work cut out for them as they look to improve on a strong 2024-25 campaign.

Fulham pull plug on deal to sell Harry Wilson in Premier League rival transfer at 11th hour
Harry Wilson was set to join Leeds United but Fulham backed out of a deal, talkSPORT understands.

Leeds met a quoted asking price over the weekend but the Cottagers focussed on incomings, which delayed movement in the transfer.

Daniel Farke's side were understanding of the situation.

By Deadline Day, Fulham wanted to renegotiate and Leeds made an improved offer.

There was an initial agreement resulting in a proposed deal sheet, which was signed by both Leeds and Wilson.

However, Fulham communicated the transfer was off just minutes before the 7pm deadline.

Leeds are naturally disappointed but did everything possible to try and sign Wilson.

Finishing touches for Fulham
Fulham were quiet on the transfer front throughout much of the summer but very active as the window drew to a close.

Marco Silva's side have finalised the arrival of Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan.

And late on Monday night, the club announced they'd also completed the signing of Brazilian winger Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, a deal that would see Tyrique George join from London rivals Chelsea fell through.

A £22million deal had been agreed between the two clubs, but it fell through at the last minute.

George scored against Fulham at Craven Cottage last season in a match that Chelsea went on to win 2-1.

He also featured in their controversial clash on Saturday, with Fulham losing 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

In terms of outgoings, Andreas Pereira has left the Cottagers for Brazilian side Palmeiras in a reported £10m move.

Martial Godo has also left the club in a switch to Strasbourg.

Wilson stays at Fulham despite Leeds approach
Leeds made an approach to Fulham for Harry Wilson in the final hours of the transfer window but he ended up staying at Craven Cottage.

The Yorkshire club enquired about taking Wales winger Wilson, 28, on loan.

Fulham rejected that proposal and talks between the clubs continued, with a potential permanent move discussed, but the deal did not go through.

Wilson, who moved to Craven Cottage in 2021, has less than a year remaining on his contract.

During the summer, the club took up an option to extend that contract until the end of this season.

There have been talks about a longer-term deal but no agreement has yet been reached.

"There's definitely talks about that. I love it here and since I've come here I've felt very at home and playing in the Premier League," Wilson told West London Sport's Fulham podcast, Jack Kelly on the Fulham Beat, last month.

"I would say there are talks about it happening. We're not close yet but let's see what happens in the next few months and see if we can get something agreed."

Fulham transfer news: Cottagers confirm two attacking additions including club-record transfer
Fulham have signed the attacking duo of Kevin and Samuel Chukwueze on transfer deadline day.

The Cottagers have been working to strengthen Marco Silva's wide options after losing Willian and Reiss Nelson at the end of last season.

Fulham have been pushing to sign Kevin, Chukwueze and Chelsea's Tyrique George, but a move for the latter ultimately fell through.

However, they have completed deals for both Kevin and Chukuwueze, with the former arriving in a club-record transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk.

As per BBC Sport, Fulham have signed Kevin in a £34.6m deal, surpassing the £34m they paid to recruit Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal last summer.

Kevin signs long-term Fulham contract
The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, with an option for Fulham to extend by a further 12 months.

"I am happy to be in the biggest league in the world, at a huge club, too," Kevin told the club's official website.

"I'm very flattered for everything that's happening in my life, and I hope to score a lot of goals this season and do great work here in Fulham."

The Brazilian winger leaves Shakhtar after netting 17 goals and providing 10 assists in 57 appearances in all competitions.

Chukwueze completes Fulham loan switch
Meanwhile, Chukwueze has joined Silva's side on an initial loan deal until the end of the 2025-26 season.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the agreement includes the option for Fulham to make the move permanent for around €25m (£21.6m)

"I'm so happy to be here. It's an amazing club," Chukwueze said. "It feels like home, because I have my people around me. I feel at home already, and I can't wait to get started."

Chukwueze and Kevin will add to Fulham's wide options, which include Harry Wilson, Alex Iwobi and Adama Traore.

Fulham's new attacking duo will have the opportunity to make their debuts after the international break when the Cottagers play host to Leeds United on September 13.

Harry Wilson has seen a potential move from Fulham to Leeds United fall through on transfer Deadline Day.

Fulham, earlier in the day, had rejected a loan offer from Leeds for the Wales international.

Although, the two clubs remained in talks, as the Premier League newboys were hopeful of securing a permanent deal for Wilson before the summer transfer window closed.

Standard Sport understands Leeds met Fulham's asking price for 28-year-old but a deal was held up with the Cottagers attempting to secure multiple moves for wingers.

A deal for Samuel Chukwueze has since been finalised, while the club are expected to announce a club-record £34.6million deal for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin, who has passed a medical and agreed terms.

Furthermore, Fulham had agreed a £22m deal for Chelsea winger George, who was set to sign a five-year deal, but a move has collapsed with the youngster returning to Stamford Bridge.

With Fulham confident in their deals, an opportunity for Wilson to move to Leeds was reopened. Both parties were happy to proceed and a deal sheet was signed.

However, at the last minute Fulham pulled out of a deal and as a result, Wilson will be staying put at Craven Cottage.
