Marco Silva dissatisfied at Fulham amid Nottingham Forest links
Fulham are concerned about the future of their manager, Marco Silva, amid interest from rivals Nottingham Forest.

According to a report from Football Insider, Marco Silva appears to be unsettled at Fulham and could be on his way to Nottingham Forest. With Nuno Espirito Santo's future uncertain, Silva has emerged as a potential replacement for the Midlands outfit.

Nottingham Forest could sack Nuno Espirito Santo
Nuno Espirito Santo has done a phenomenal job at Nottingham Forest, helping them secure a seventh-place finish last season and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League. While the results last season were promising, a lot has changed in recent months, leaving his future up in the air.

The Portuguese manager has had a public fallout with owner Evangelos Marinakis, which certainly does not help his chances of staying at the club. Nuno's relationship with Marinakis is strained, and on top of that, his ideas do not align with the club's new recruitment chief, Edu Gasper.

Following disputes with the duo, Nuno Espirito Santo made his thoughts public and even suggested that he was set to hold crunch talks with the club. More importantly, recent results have not been great, putting additional pressure on the former Wolves boss.

Marco Silva could join Nottingham Forest
If Nuno Espirito Santo fails to deliver the desired results after the international break, Nottingham Forest could end up sacking him. Should that happen, Fulham's Marco Silva is their priority target to replace him.

The 48-year-old has done wonders for the Cottagers over the years, but he seems unhappy at the club and would be open to another Premier League job. Both Nuno Espirito Santo and Silva are represented by Jorge Mendes's Gestifute agency, which does significant business with Marinakis and his clubs.

As a result, there is a real possibility of Silva replacing his compatriot at Nottingham. With only a year left on his deal and dissatisfaction over Fulham's summer business, the Tricky Trees have a realistic chance of securing his services.

With Nuno Espirito Santo not on the same page with Marinakis and Edu, a departure certainly seems to be on the cards, and Marco Silva could be just the perfect replacement given what he has done at Fulham.

Marco Silva: Fulham boss 'uneasy' as Nottingham Forest link grows amid Nuno Espirito Santo unrest
Marco Silva is said to be increasingly frustrated at Fulham and has now emerged as a serious contender to become the next Nottingham Forest manager.

The Portuguese tactician, who penned a new deal with the Cottagers in October 2023, is understood to be 'unhappy' with what he views as a lack of ambition during the summer window.

His discontent has been simmering since he publicly criticised the shortage of new arrivals last month, describing the club as 'too passive' in their efforts to strengthen the squad.

According to Football Insider, Silva is now willing to consider a new challenge in the Premier League and would be receptive to an approach if the right offer is placed on the table.

Silva's frustration over Fulham transfer business
Silva's dissatisfaction stems from a window that saw the club register a modest net spend of just over £20m.

With around seven departures, Fulham only made genuine reinforcements in the final hours of deadline day, bringing in three players to go with the earlier signing of backup goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte.

Brazilian winger Kevin joined from Shakhtar Donetsk for a club-record fee of £34.6m, while Samuel Chukwueze and Jonah Kusi-Asare arrived on loan from AC Milan and Bayern Munich respectively.

It remains to be seen whether these additions will appease the long-serving manager, whose four-year tenure at the club now appears uncertain amid growing speculation over a potential move to Forest.

Silva linked with Forest amid Nuno tension
While Silva wrestles with frustration in West London, Nottingham Forest are dealing with turmoil of their own, with Nuno Espirito Santo's position under growing scrutiny.

Nuno's relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis is believed to have deteriorated in recent weeks, while tensions have also surfaced with newly appointed recruitment chief Edu Gasper.

Silva has allegedly been identified as Forest's leading candidate should Nuno's tenure come to an end.

The Fulham boss previously worked with Marinakis at Olympiacos in the 2015-16 season, and with these ties in place, speculation is mounting over a potential switch.

Exclusive: Fulham Plan Big Pay Rise for Rodrigo Muniz After Summer Twist
Fulham head coach Marco Silva and influential figures behind the scenes are planning to reward Rodrigo Muniz with an improved Craven Cottage contract after they succeeded in fending off interest from the likes of Serie A giants Atalanta during the summer transfer window, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

The Cottagers went into deadline day having only made one addition to their squad, with goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte joining for £500,000 following Montpellier's relegation from Ligue 1 and being tasked to provide competition for Bernd Leno, but three last-minute signings were made earlier this week.

Jonah Kusi-Asare and Samuel Chukwueze arrived on loan from Bayern Munich and AC Milan respectively, while Kevin became the most expensive acquisition in Fulham's history when he sealed a £34.6million switch from Shakhtar Donetsk, and they also managed to keep Muniz in west London.

Cottagers Plan to Hand Muniz Improved Deal
Muniz is set to be offered a big pay rise after staying at Fulham, according to GMS sources, as it has been acknowledged by key decision-makers that he is not on a contract which reflects his status within the squad after he was the subject of intense interest during the summer transfer window.

The striker has entered the final 12 months of his £7,500-per-week deal, which makes him one of the lowest-earners at Craven Cottage, and his current employers are desperate to avoid a situation where he could embark on a fresh challenge as a free agent at the end of the campaign.

GMS sources have been informed that Fulham are ready to focus on holding discussions over an improved contract with Muniz, who found the back of the net 11 times in all competitions last season, and they persuaded him to remain in west London by convincing him that he can become one of the first names on the team sheet.

The Brazilian initially gave indications that he wanted to join Atalanta after he was the subject of a big-money bid but, in a major twist, the proposal did not meet the Cottagers' £43million demands and a switch to the Gewiss Stadium - where he would have been handed the opportunity to compete in the Champions League - did not materialise.

Fulham have turned their attention towards tying Muniz down to fresh terms following the closure of the summer transfer window, GMS sources have learned, and talks are expected to be held with his representatives in the coming weeks as they aim to highlight he has a long-term future in the capital.

Muniz Remains Important Part of Silva's Plans
GMS sources have been told that Fulham are aware that they need to show their commitment to Muniz after they blocked a move to Atalanta, meaning that he is on course to be given the chance to secure a significant wage increase if he can be persuaded to put pen-to-paper when a new contract is put in front of him.

The 24-year-old, who has been described as 'incredible', came off the bench to grab a stoppage time equaliser against Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign and has gone on to start the following fixtures against Manchester United and Chelsea.

Members of the Fulham hierarchy have accepted that Muniz's low salary does not reflect his importance to Silva, GMS sources understand, and the Portuguese tactician will not be satisfied if the centre forward is eventually allowed to head through the exit door as a free agent.

GMS sources recently revealed that the Cottagers were open to recruiting Raheem Sterling if the financial package was suitable, having been alerted to the fact that he has been frozen out at Chelsea, but the England international was not handed a deadline day route out of Stamford Bridge.

Fabrizio Romano: Ex-Fulham and Newcastle star sold for £46m sees contract terminated after Man Utd links
The former Fulham striker was linked with a return to the Premier League during the transfer window.

Despite the transfer window officially closing, there is still more business to be done this summer, as the deadline in the Saudi Pro League is yet to arrive, meaning there could be more moves from the Premier League before the end of the month.

Several players in the top tier have made the move to the Saudi league in recent seasons, with one of the big names being former Fulham and Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who became somewhat of a modern cult hero for the Cottagers during his time in the Premier League.

Mitrovic scored 111 goals in 206 games for Fulham before he moved to Al-Hilal in 2023, however, he is now set for a new chapter in his career. The 30-year-old was linked with a move back to the Premier League over the summer, as he emerged as a surprising target for Man United before they signed Benjamin Sesko, and also Tottenham.

Mitrovic sees contract termination
After two years at Al-Hilal, it has now emerged that Mitrovic's contract at the club has been terminated, and he is pending his next move. Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported the 30-year-old's contract was terminated by the Saudi club, and he is now set to sign for Qatari club Al-Raayan instead. He said: "Al-Rayyan agree deal to sign Aleksandar Mitrović from Al Hilal, here we go! Permanent move as Mitrović contract has been terminated, ready for new chapter in Qatar."

Mitrovic will join up with former Leeds United striker Rodrigo at the Qatar-based club, with his new contract expected to last three seasons, taking him towards the twilight of his career. The move potentially shuts down any chance of Mitrovic returning to the Premier League, despite the reported interest from United over the summer.

Why was Mitrovic wanted by Spurs and Man Utd?
The former Fulham striker was a real goal machine during his time in England, with both Newcastle and the Cottagers, so it is no surprise that both United and Spurs were keen on him in the summer. He joined Newcastle in 2015 from Belgian side Anderlecht, and made 72 appearances for the Magpies in a three-year spell, scoring 17 goals.

After it didn't work out for the Serbia international at St James' Park, he joined Fulham on loan in 2018 and scored 11 goals in 39 games for Fulham. Following the successful season at Craven Cottage, Mitrovic joined permanently for £21 million.

Over the next four seasons, the attacker managed to score 88 goals for Fulham, including a season in the Championship in 2021/22 when he managed to score a record-breaking 43 league goals, 13 goals more than the second-best season by a Championship player - Ivan Toney in 2021/22 for Brentford.

Fulham cashed in on Mitrovic in 2023, and sold him to Al-Hilal for a fee of £46m, meaning that the Cottagers managed to make a £25m profit on the Serbian, and also got over 100 goals out of him, an impressive piece of business.
