Dodgin

Appears to be quite a bit of support for Mr Lineker with his viewing public National Television Award as top presenter.

Personally I have never had a problem with his presenting.

Sadly she wasn't

I doubt anyone would really suggest he doesn't deserve some sort of legacy award for his work on MoTD among other things though. Like him or loath him, he's still achieved great things with MoTD.

bobbo

He was very good at what he did on MOTD . This country is not what it was even a year or two ago. Won't be long before it's like Russia - can't say anything .

I think you just did!  :slap:
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

What a joke.😅😅😅

Holders

He may or may not have been the best presenter (and the odious Ant and Dec certainly aren't!) but, as he acknowledges, the vote was probably indicative of support for his integrity on other issues, agree with him or not, obviously a lot of people do.

I can, at last, forgive now him for 1981.
Non sumus statione ferriviaria

hopper

I for one commend him, but imagine this thread will get locked.

Twig

Personally I found him to be both good at his job and refreshingly honest.

Well I didn't dislike him but was never a fan of his matey style. But to be fair. Whenever the public get involved from politics to voting for the favourite actor. They always manage to **** it up. Pointless awards celebrating pointless people.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I wonder who does vote for these things. I always wondered why he was so loved, I don't hate him but he isn't worth his pay packet and brought little to the MOTD party. Just super bland.

He has said it himself that this is probably in recognition of other stuff than presenting.

Either way he deserves it. A good bloke.

Agree, think he's a decent bloke, and a top presenter

You can still see him giving his views on football along with Shearer and Micah on his podcast on YouTube. He's more able to give his frank opinions of players and games, without the BBC constraints of presenter impartiality.

But he's never going to slag anyone off, but its not that sort of podcast anyway.

Cheers for that, I'll have a look/listen as long as I can put up with Richards 😂

Interesting comments

All you need know is (assuming I am correct) is that he was married twice & left two wives & children in his wake.

Morally acceptable? I think not, even to the worst of us.

So it doesn't matter what he went on to do or say now. As others now know (can't say who  ::wink:: )you can't change the story to suit your earlier appointments, needs or position now!

As ever, it's over to you how you interpret it.

Suffice to say, he's not for me.

Never mind, more important matters beg tomorrow

Well deserved award. Joins former winners Ant & Dec and 'Strike it Lucky' presenter Michael Barrymore.

Whether or not it's all I need to know, it's all you needed to be armed with to tell the rest of us what we should be thinking. Yet I find it's usually better to form an opinion from a broader base of information than you would have me consider and certainly advantageous not let someone else decide for me what my opinion ought to be.
