Holders Newcastle make six changes to the side that began the 1-0 defeat at Sunderland. Fabian Schär, Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes, Joe Willock, Jacob Ramsey and Yoane Wissa are in; Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, Anthony Elanga and Nick Woltemade drop to the bench, while Dan Burn and Lewis Hall are injured. Wissa is making his first start for his new club.

Fulham make four changes to the XI that started the 3-2 win at Burnley, and three of them are enforced. Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Calvin Bassey are all away at the Afcon with Nigeria, so in come Jorge Cuenca, Saša Lukić and Kevin. Meanwhile Benjamin Lecomte replaces Bernd Leno in goal.

If we go down I hope we go down fighting.

Kevin looks sharp so far

SerbianLad · December 17, 2025, 08:23:40 PM

Decent start from us, much better than the start of our last game against them

Steeeeeeeeeed · December 17, 2025, 08:24:30 PM

8 minutes in Very Good start so far.

I am listening to these 2 Geordies as commentary, they are not very happy so far...

And we started well too. Very poor goal to concede, imo

Very Poor from lacomte what on earth was that

annoyingly we've been by far the better team only for another silly mistake

fancyfeet4 · December 17, 2025, 08:27:17 PM

Horrific in my opinion. That is goalkeeping 101. Do not put the ball back in the middle like that. He was slow and lazy on that and should never concede that.

Deeping_white · December 17, 2025, 08:27:45 PM

Was there not an offside about 30 seconds before the goal? I know no VAR but one of the Toon players looked offside coming back for a pass

Hatch007 · December 17, 2025, 08:28:02 PM

Cue "should have started Leno"

He literally could have let that run across the box 🤦

Fulham 1879 · December 17, 2025, 08:28:08 PM

Awful goalkeeping. Onanaeque.

Deeping_white · December 17, 2025, 08:28:32 PM

Bloody annoying though as it's literally their only attack in the game and it's a proper gift

Jules · December 17, 2025, 08:28:48 PM

Probably offside if we had VAR as well before the cross. Shame as we started well. Let's pick it up now Fulham!
