Lose at home to Burnley and i feel the Club will finally grab the nettle and make a "mutual decision " announcement.
There is no way Silva can carry on this pretence if we lose to relegated Burnley.

So you think the club will terminate his contract early with the financial payout & leave themselves with no manager 7 games from the end of the season?

Yes !
The backlash from the supporters will be immense and if Silva has told the Club months ago that he's leaving at the end of the season then I believe the Club will take the initiative and start preparing for next season.

None of us are privy to what Silva or the club have decided. I'm hoping he's here next season. In the meantime let's get behind the team on Saturday and try and secure a European place. There will be plenty of time to ponder the what if's in the summer. Time to concentrate on the here and now.

Silva commands a fairly hefty salary and at the moment he's not earning it. Several games in a row we've not scored or even looked like wanting to score. The manager's job is to motivate and coach the team and at the moment we look unmotivated and regressing tactically. There is now a genuine point to be made that we could save ourselves some money and let him go now, at least knowing we can kick off the manager search and look to steal a march on other teams also needing a coach, whilst giving someone like Hayden Mullins a few months of experiencing the first team given his success with the U21's

Well we absolutely cannot "save ourselves some money" because when someone has a contract you can't "let them go". If we ask Marco to leave he is legally entitled to compensation for breach of contract.
I really do not get why people don't understand this simple concept. We hear it repeatedly; let this player go, let this manager go......... Surely it isn't hard to understand that a contract is just that, a contracted and legally binding agreement over a specified period of time. If either party seeks to unilaterally impose a change to the terms of that contract they are in breach and must pay compensation.

That's not how contracts work mate.

Contracts regularly will contain language that describes how early termination, even if unilateral, can be handled. Shipping someone off isn't necessarily a breach of contract if there is language that allows for it.

How early termination is handled is actually a fairly important point in negotiations for employee contracts.

Maybe because the powers at the top treated him with disdain. Who knows? It's clear that he was told he had to make do with what was there, which in honesty wasn't good enough.
