Think the midfield will be the crucial area for battle today. Bringing Berge in or Reed might see us less productive but would that be more beneficial than Cairney starting in a game where opposition could look to swarm over us? Not sure they even rest one or two as you would imagine they are all but certain for at least Top 5 whether they win Europa or not. Emery seems to have Marco's number recently so would be good to see if Silva can put one over on him? I have always thought you can get at Villa but we will need a big upturn on recent form and a few players bringing there A game. Not sure it's a game we can afford to go behind early do we have enough wind in our sails.
If the manager still thinks Europe is a possibility then line up today will show! Difficult game to call one we can win and one we could get well turned over if our attitude is not there. If we were at it today and give Villa a run for their money then defeat can be slightly easier to stomach but if we don't show up then likely to see and hear more disenchantment!

Silvas chosen system of play today is crucial.
It is imperative that it brings the best out of our players on the field of play.
Even if a player is having a bad game, he can still run around.
At the end of the day as long as every player gives 100% effort and application with work rate which is what they get well payed for.
If that is still not good enough despite our good team performance.
I shall still feel proud of them and accept Glorious defeat.

It's all on the day and we must play to our strengths.
To stand a good chance we must out run, out pass them and run faster, further and longer than them.
The ball never gets tired and the first 90 minutes plus are the most important, and also to remember to let the ball do the work.
If I was in Silva's position, then last words I would say to them before they take the field of play, is " to be first and second to the ball, support the man on the ball and pass and move."
Then I would say, " see that brick wall over there, run through it and come out fighting on the otherside ".

We have to get the basics right, the foundations of a successful team, is that it is paramount that the team consists of Leaders, Warriors, Winners, Fighters and Characters.
Including Players Players, team mates whose technical ability may be less than others but they more than make up for it with 100% commitment and all the other basics I mentioned.
That enhances team spirit, moral and confidence, which enables teams to draw games they may have lost, win games they may have drawn. Whether it is winning games in style or winning games ugly, as long as we win.
Because winning becomes a habit, in the same way losing becomes a habit.
So are you a Doormat or a Matador.
It is a competition which means we have to compete.
