I am not sure if I was sleeping or not, but did young Sander have a shot?  I think that he might have..

Timmy much improved, as was ESR. Would like to see table of Kms run during the game, maybe Emile was winning that before he came off. Certainly was hounding and pressing which I've not seen him do so much before.
Andersen solid at back and Leno much improved as well, catching balls from corners for fun this time.
Lukic and Berge terrific in midfield, making Reed and Tom sweat it out in the dugout, they weren't required.
Raul lively and Muniz still rusty and a tad overweight?
Having said all that Chestnuts gets my Man of Match.

Bassey the warrior

Great performance all round, Andersen just edges it for me, great reading of the game and made lots of good interceptions.

Bassey the warrior

One notable difference compared to our usual approach was the willingness to press high. We were excellent at that and regularly won the ball in their half. Why don't we do that more often?

He did and the Hammy End sarcastically sang "he had a shot, he had a shot".

Thought ESR did pretty well at allowing us to play through the press. He often wasn't the final or second to last touch in a chance, but it didn't seem like attacks were dying in the midfield as often as they have been recently.

Voted for Lukic. Could have gone to Castagne, Bassey, Sess.
I don't get the praise for Andersen (in this game). Almost cost us the points but for 2-3 poor finishes from Villa.

Colton F.C.

Lukic for me harrying, intercepting and driving forward.  The pairing with Berge is often the prelude to an uninspired performance. Today was very different and possibly involving some coaching from Marco.  Strong performance from ESR also.

Not sure I follow your thoughts on Anderson, when did he almost cost us the points, I just don't recall the reasons.
