Games for the Weekend 05/03

This weekend we welcome Blackburn to the Cottage for a 12:30 kickoff

Fulham v Blackburn Rovers

Cardiff was a close game, any away win is a bonus, perhaps its just me but I always think that we have tough games against Cardiff even though we’ve done the double over them this season, this was the type of game we could easily have slipped up on.

Mitro has yet another goal to add to his very impressive tally, Gentleman Jim suggested, in jest, that it was getting boring, long may we all be bored! I was surprised that Seri didn’t get a run out after his master-class performance against Peterborough, although I trust our current manager, unlike the previous one, to make correct team selections.

Since we beat Rovers at their place they went on an impressive run, 10 unbeaten with 8 wins, boosting them up the table and being real contenders for an automatic rather than play-off slot. Their form has slumped over the past few games but you don’t put a 10 game unbeaten run together without having a really good squad who knows how to grind out results.

I’m not expecting a repeat of the 7 goals against we scored Rovers that we scored at their place, and I’m sure they’ll be looking for revenge so I’m expecting a close game.

Current Form:
Fulham – WWLWW
Rovers – LLDLW

Our record against Rovers is remarkably even, 7 wins, 7 losses and 4 draws

Games for the Weekend 10/08

Our first home game of the season will be against Blackburn Rovers at 15:00 Saturday afternoon.

Fulham v Blackburn

Last weekend’s opener against Burnley didn’t go the way we’d hoped but this time we’re back on home turf, let’s see if Craven Cottage will once again become our fortress?
We have signed Ben Ticker however at 18 he’s going to be one for the future, and Harry Arter, Scotties brother-in-law, on loan and there have been plenty of other rumours, Onomah as part of the ongoing Sess’ deal, Amartey from Leicester, Jacob Murphy from Newcastle etc. but so far nothing concrete, I’m guessing it’ll be another last minute rush.
Our front three of Mitro’, Knockaert and Cavaleiro should give most Championship teams pause for thought, especially if we can bring on AK47 for the last 10-20 minutes to run at tired defences, I hope we get to see evidence of how good they are starting this weekend.
Will we have strengthened the defence? we can only hope so otherwise it could be a very long season.

Back to the week-end, like us, Rovers also lost by a single goal against a newly promoted team, Charlton, and you just know that Tony Mowbray will have his team fired-up to play against us.
