We welcome the second of the promoted teams, Sunderland, to the Cottage for a 3 o’clock kick off

The game against Everton was very disappointing both the result and Muniz getting injured again, it looks as if he’ll be out until the New Year following an operation.

Then we’ve had the Marco situation, has he been offered a new contract?, will he sign?, will he be sacked if he doesn’t sign?, what effect will his situation have on the squad?

During the international break Harry Wilson captained Wales for the first time, during the game he played as the No.9, he scored a hat-trick and also an assist, he’s got to start on Saturday hasn’t he?
Raúl scored, a penalty, in Mexico’s 2-1 friendly defeat, if he can carry on his goal scoring form for country when playing for Fulham, he’s only scored once so far, “own goal” is still our leading goal scorer, Harry & Ryan both have 2.
Josh King also scored for England Under 21s against Slovakia, England are now top of their Euro qualification group.
Kusi-Asare managed an assist for Sweden Under 21s against Armenia, I’ll be very surprised if he gets any game time against Sunderland however Muniz being out may get him a place on the bench.

Sunderland have surprised pretty much everyone, apart from their supporters?, with their season so far, currently their in 4th on 19 points with 5 wins, 2 losses and 4 draws, they’ve scored 14 and conceded 10, Fulham have scored 12 and conceded 16.

Our record against Sunderland, for the previous 8 games, is even with 3 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws.

FA CUP Saturday 28th January

We welcome Sunderland to the Cottage for the fourth round FA Cup tie..

This will be the first FA Cup meeting between Fulham and Sunderland since a previous fourth round tie in the 2014-15 campaign, Sunderland won 3-1 after a replay.
Our last game against Sunderland was in April 2018, we won that game 2-1 however, Sunderland have won three of their last four visits to the Cottage.
The fourth round is a “tricky” tie for Fulham having been eliminated from seven of our last eight fourth round ties, our only win was, at home, against Hull in 2016-17 when the result was 4-1.
This will be Sunderland’s first appearance in the fourth round since they beat us in 2014-15, interestingly Sunderland haven’t reached the fifth round since they’ve been outside the Premier League since 2003-04.
Tony Mowbray has faced Premier League teams in five FA Cup ties while he was the manager at West Brom, Middlesborough and Blackburn, he lost all five games.
Tony Mowbray has lost his last four games against Fulham with an aggregate score of 12-0.

Overall our recent record against Sunderland is remarkably even with 5 wins, 5 losses and 5 draws.

Games of interest for weekend 27-29/04

Fulham welcome back “Cookie” and his Sunderland team to Craven Cottage for our last home game of the season

This will be our 3rd televised game in a row and the 2nd on a Friday evening, I’m sure that moving the game to a Friday will have upset many, many supporters arrangements. With the game move and Sunderland’s demotion to the 3rd tier, I can’t think of it as division one, I’m guessing that the away support will be a lot lower than it would of been, after all Sunderland’s not just around the corner is it!?

Last weeks game against Millwall showed how good we can be, if we win, tempting fate I know but I do think that we’ll get the result we need, or get a draw we’ll then beat Man City’s record of unbeaten games! not bad for little ol’ Fulham. With Cardiff loosing mid-week against Derby, their “game in hand”, the last couple of games of the ‘season proper’ are going to be really, really interesting!
