Are Rodellaga wage demands preventing us signing him?

Not sure whether there is any truth in this or its just Everton PR dept trying to massage the truth to cover their inability beat Fulham to the deal.

From the Daily Mail
Everton are turning their attentions elsewhere after Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega, 26, demanded £70,000 a week in wages.

cottage cheese

no way in hell would we pay the rod that if you consider we offered dempsey wages in the 50-60k a week

twang

Rodallega has confirmed to Colombian radio that he has signed a 3 year deal with us and there's no chance that he will earn that kind of money here, so unless he demanded that amount to live in Liverpool, the journalist is lying.

In the Enclosure

Need to see the ink dry - but Wigan fans seem to think London has attractions for his family as there is a Columbian Community here. Perhaps he will sign for less for us - Can't blame him

Reindeer

Everton's PR machine without a doubt.

The bubble that exists up there is incredible.  They cannot believe ANYONE would not want to sign for them.

Delboy

No transfer fee, so maybe a large signing-on fee that will subsidise his wages to fit within the FFC structure. Possiblility?

cottage cheese

we will not break the bank for hugo nor give into his demands (hence why we loose out to players).

if he signs it will be with a 25-35k week wage and maybe a goal bonus. As a club we operate to sustain our future and it will continue. I have a feeling hugo will sign as he has said he likes Jol and would prefer a move to london

We leave for Germany tomorrow for 3 matches, it would be very useful to get the deal done today and him on the plane to start bonding with the rest of the squad. It's always better to get the players for the season into a group and playing together as early in the preseason as possible

He can get on the plane wth the player, he's not attached to a club so he is more than welcome to join our squad and probably will.

Just a rumour, but I was told he's been training with us all week.

Don't speak very good Spanish, but this is a recording of Rodallega being interviewed and stating that Fulham players have welcomed him with open arms:

Tinto Coffee is run by Columbians so expect to see him hanging out there.

See I always find a way to promote their business.  :dft012:

It was on here that someone said their kid on work experience saw him at motspur park on tuesday, so I'm trying to understand why the long delay?
It could be we are waiting on the renewal of his work permit which we know from Pog may take a while. Looking at his Wiki site it does not say when he last played for Colombia any one know when he last played for them?
