We get to visit the south coast for a game against Southampton
After yet another disappointing performance, apart from the first 10 minutes or so, we now get to visit the home of one of the 4 teams we’ve beaten this season, so its an easy game right? I think that this game, apart for Cardiff at home, is the most winnable that we have left for this season however, in truth I can’t see us getting any sort of result, I’ve lost all ‘belief’ in this team. What I can’t understand is how we’ve lost any ‘fight’, with the exception of Mitro it’s as if the players have already given up, perhaps they’ve been continually told that “their not good enough” and have started to believe it? Cairney and Sess, who were the heartbeat of the team last season, appear to be ‘surplus to requirements’ and the way that Ryan, one of the most exciting young talents I’ve ever seen at Fulham, has been singled out for public criticism can’t be helping either him or the ‘team spirit’?
I’m hoping they prove me wrong.

We get an early start to our weekend visiting the London Stadium to give West Ham a game on Friday evening.
It’ll be interesting to see if either of the last-day signings are fit enough to get a game? Also I’d like to see both Ryan and Tom start, they were so important to us last season and, in my opinion, should be playing week in week out, I can’t understand why they haven’t been. West Ham are having an OK(ish) season, they started badly but have been steadily improving over recent weeks, so it won’t be an easy game for us however, this and the Southampton game next week, we need to get maximum points if we want any, however faint, hope of avoiding relegation.

So this weekend we welcome Man Utd to the Cottage.
After yet another tepid performance against Palace this week end sees an “in form” Man Utd come to the Cottage, what odds on an upset? very, very long if we play like the 2nd half against Palace, optimistic is we play like the 2nd half against Brighton. I really can’t understand why we can’t play well for 90 minutes, or why we can’t continue the standard against Brighton?
Remember that its a 12:30 kick-off and if you can’t make it to the Cottage you’ll be able to see the game live on Sky TV.

This weekend we’re off to Selhurst Park to take on Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace.
So after our midweek game against Brighton we face a Crystal Palace side sitting 6 points above us however Palace will be without their star striker and talisman Wilfried Zaha who was sent off against Southampton. The 2nd half performance against Brighton showed our potential, we just need to build on that and get a result, which won’t be easy, against Palace before the visit of Man Utd. Mitro had a great game, continually bulling the defence and scored a couple which proved to be pivotal, Seri had probably his best game and it was good to see Babel get the full 90 minutes, I wonder if we’ll see Havard Nordtveit? if he’s half as good as Brede it’ll be good to have another Norwegian in the team.

So after having a weekend off we’re back at the Cottage for a game under lights against Brighton & Hove Albion
Following the, literally, last minute loss agains Spurs at least we can look forward to seeing all of the new signings… oh wait we’ve still only signed one player! However Ryan Babel showed just how good he can be and the ‘fighting spirit’ we need to stay up, hopefully he’ll continue in the same vain for the remainder of the season, but we do desperately need, at the very least, some defenders. Brighton are having a reasonable run at the moment, 4 wins, 5 losses and 2 draws, losses against Chelsea, Bournemouth (they won the FA Cup tie against Bournemouth), Liverpool, Man Utd and Burnley with a draws against Arsenal and West Ham show that their not doing too badly although I’m sure they would have expected to win against Burnley. Earlier in the season we gave away a 0-2 lead at their place to end up with a 2-2 draw we’ll all be looking for the lads to play as they did the 1st half against Spurs, if we can repeat that level of performance for a full 90 minutes then I’m sure we’ll get the result we desperately need.

Following the disappointing result against Burnley last weekend this Sunday we welcome Spurs to the Cottage
The “good news” for Fulham is that it looks like Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min will all miss the game, “clutching at straws” I know.
Will our new signing, Ryan Babel, get a run out and if so what difference will he make? Is a game against a ‘top six’ side the kind of game that Claudio Ranieri would want to introduce him? it certainly would be a baptism of fire.

yet another must win game and after the FA Cup game I’d stick to more or less the same team who played against Arsenal, we were much better than the result suggested, swapping AK47 for Schurrle. I’m assuming that we either won’t have made any signings or they’ll arrive too late for this game.

Back to the Premier League with another “6 pointer”, this time we’re away too Burnley Turf Moor.
After the disappointment of the game against Oldham last Sunday this weekend we travel to Turf Moor which hasn’t been a “happy hunting ground” for us in the past, lets see if we can do something about that this time? Should we win, we’ll move to within 1 point of Burnley who had a good win against West Ham last time out and although we’d still be in the bottom 3 we’d be moving in the right direction.

Thoughts on Oldham FA Cup match.
Everything below is what I would do if I were in charge and just an opinion. I do think Ranieri will do the opposite however and play pretty much the first team and his usual starting XI. For the most part at least. I don’t really see Ranieri reaching down into the U23’s or U18’s this season as I don’t think that is his style. I hope to be proven wrong. I am a firm believer of playing every match to win. Regardless of the league or competition. So, for the upcoming match against Oldham I would like to see a combination of first team players and youngsters. My line up would include keeping the back for the most part the same. I would do this so that the back continues to gel and learn each other’s playing style and thoughts. As for the front I would sit Mitro as there is no need for him to play and possibly get a knock. I would also sit Tom and Seri and give some of our U23’s a chance to shine. With that in mind I would start the following line-up.
Subs would be Harvey Elliott for Ryan, de la Torre for Vietto and Chambers for either Kmac or Johansen. All of this of course would be contingent on the game going our way.
The reason I choose Steven and the above players is because this is a great match for them to show everyone what they can bring to the first team for both the remainder of this season and the future.
This first player that I really would like to see in this match is Steven Sessegnon. I believe he is fully health and should get a chance to show that like his brother he can bring a lot to the first team. I would like to see him start either on the right wing for Christie or as the right center fullback for Odoi. From what match footage I’ve seen of him I think he could possible do either position and quite possible even make the first team bench as a sub player.
The other two youngsters I would include for this match; de la Torre as I think he is and can be a regular squad player and Harvey Elliott as it would be great to see him get a run with some of the first team players.
I’m sure everyone has also notice I put Tom and Seri on the bench. Just like Mitro I just don’t think we should take a chance on Tom getting a knock. I do think Tom should be starting more and would prefer Seri to be more of a sub rather than playing alongside Tom in the midfield. As for Seri not starting, I have no real reason other than I think this would be a good game for Kmac and Johansen to get a good run out.
My captain for the match would be Kmac if he starts, obviously. If he does not start, then Johansen. If neither Kmac or Johansen get the nod and Tom is not in the starting XI then I give the arm band to MLM. Why you ask would I give it to MLM? Because I actually think he plays decent football and I believe he could step up and take the mantel if needed.
So, with all that said I really do hope to see both Fulham use some of its youth and get a solid win for once.

No Premier League games this weekend, its time for the FA Cup 3rd round where we welcome Oldham Athletic to the Cottage
I still think that the FA Cup is the best knock-out competition there is, a competition that brings teams together from different leagues and where major upsets happen, remember Sutton Utd, Hereford, Shrewsbury or Wrexham?
I’m hoping that this games isn’t a major upset, but you never know…
