The story is set for Lookman, the boy from London, and Fulham alumni, to knock Arsenal out.
Or Arsenal might be on their way to the Big Double.
Who knows...
But I think Athletico will get to the final, will be a tight game.

Hope Arsenal do a number on them personally especially with the antics they get up to. Don't have any sentiment towards Lookman and certainly none towards Athletico! They spoilt an otherwise great few days in Hamburg for me.

Absolutely agree, cant stand the scummy manager they have, Lookman was good but nothing to make me support that lot. Arsenal are only prem club is can stand in the champ league, doubt they will win as other semi final winner is big faves
I hope Atletico beats them. Not a huge fan of Atletico or Simeone, or their playstyle, but I dislike Arteta, Arsenal and the way they play way more. I thought Arsenal played some nice stuff at times under Wenger, and if it was that Arsenal, I'd be cheering for them. Under these circumstances, come on Simeone!
I didn't know until pre match coverage that Declan Rice is a local boy. Born in Kingston. Developed playing cage football near Norbiton. Went to Grey Court school Richmond . Released by Chelsea at 14.
I had always thought he was an East End West Ham boy.
Lookman has been absolutely atrocious. By far the worst player on the pitch
Arsenal should be well rested after the weekend.
Losing to them in Hamburg was tough but I thought their fans were decent. I also think their manager is good. I don't like Arteta but still want Arsenal to win
Agree about their fans, we found ourselves in the Atletico fan zone before the final & they were very friendly.

Agree, the only trouble we encountered was from Hamburg fans!
Police must've had a tip off as were there immediately.
That was such a boring match
How can anyone want Arsenal to win because of Simeone when Arsenal are managed by Arteta, the biggest tosser in world football. Their fans are largely the worst fans in football too, obviously with a few exceptions.
Atletico robbed of a crystal clear penalty. Not sure how it wasn't given.
Martin Keown is going to be insufferable.
I hope that Arsenal appreciate the part Fulham played in boosting their confidence.

We can always be relied upon to help out teams who need a confidence boost!
Annoying that Simeone is the highest paid manager in the world. I do not like him full stop. ::angry:: How he enjoyed getting Beckham sent off. ::angry::

He also had a trial with us. 'Sorry son not good enough...next.'
Arteta might as well have been given a linemans flag considering how much of the sidelines he was running up n down. Simeone spent almost as much time on the pitch as his players. Why bother with technical areas or fourth officials?????

Arteta does that all the time in the PL too, yet rarely gets punished for it.

I want Arsenal to win, I don't see the clear penalty, and I'm an Arsenal fan, can't say I'm worse than you, but you never know.

Totally the opposite experience for me. The only time I've ever been attacked by fans was by Athletico fans (twice) on the continent, in two different cities.

I've already stated that there are exceptions, and I definitely don't consider you to be a poor fan, quite the opposite. But, by and large, from my experience online, they have the worst set of fans in the world by some margin.
As far as the penalty is concerned, come on, it was 100% a penalty. Calafiori stomped on Griezmann's foot, it couldn't have been more clear. And the "foul" ij the build-up that was the reason it was ruled out apparently, was never a foul. Gabriel missed the ball and kicked an Atletico player. If anything, that too was a penalty, rather than a foul by Atletico. There were two incidents that I didn't even mention when Simeone was clearly having his shirt pulled, and those two could easily have been penalties too.
Arteta and Arsenal players wasted way more than 35 or whatever seconds that the referee added on to the added time too.
I personally hope that PSG or Bayern absolutely trash them in the final.

So why did the ref and var give foul to Gabriel if it was a foul by him ?, as for shirt pulling they were both as bad as each other, seems nowadays all players do it, not too many get pulled up for it. The one thing that really annoyed me was all the Arsenal subs crowding the line, the ref should have stopped the game and made them sit down.
You dislike Arsenal and I dislike A.Madrid, the commentator commented on A,Madrid "dark arts".
Still there we go matey, we all have our reasons for things, good place to leave it.
Quote from: alfie on May 06, 2026, 01:07:51 PMSo why did the ref and var give foul to Gabriel if it was a foul by him ?
Why did the referee and VAR disallow King's goal vs Chelsea? It's not like the referees or VAR are faultless.
I can't see what did the Atletico player do wrong there. And after that, it's a crystal clear foul on Griezmann.
I'm not a fan of Atletico, and I would have cheered for PSG/Bayern in the final if they won too. I just dislike Arsenal more than I do Atletico.

Fair enough, it's your entitlement to like/dislike whoever you please.

Lookman is an enigma. He plays in fits and starts. Too erratic a player in my book. He was also at Leicester on loan but Rodgers didn't want to sign him and Atalanta were happy to sell him. Lookman was also at Everton and Leipzig. He started his career at Charlton.
He had a great chance to score in the first leg against the Arse in the CL semi-final but was anonymous in the second.
You got your prediction wrong as did so many of us. Btw, it's ATLETICO not ATHLETICO

I've followed Lookman since he went to Atalanta and on his day he can be unplayable (one of only around 20 professionals to get a prefect 10 from L'Equipe magazine after his faultless performance and hat-trick v Leverkusen in the Europa Cup Final)
But consistency is the thing in footballers and that's why the likes of Messi and Ronaldo were always paid the big bucks.
