What a load of nonsense.
Makes me feel like I'm being treated like a kid with "are we nearly there yet ?" syndrome.
Have I got to wait until 16th July to see it ?
"I want to see it now, Can I, can I, Can I, Can I.....................Oh please.
Who really gives a toss, we'll either like it, be OK with it, or not like it, depends on individually preferences
I can't wait until tomorrow to perhaps see a sneak preview of the left shoulder blade beneath the collar line.
Maybe someone could design a jigsaw puzzle and print one piece a day on the web site .
Ignoring Sundays which would heighten the expectation for Monday, a bit like waiting for my "Hotspur" or "Roy of the Rovers" being delivered by the paper boy.
F... me, how exciting.
We could print them off each day on Fulham Watermarked Card Stock (available from the store or online for $25 for 10 sheets)
Think of the benefits, we would have 9 sheets left and the competition could be guaranteed until 2025 !
We would need to cut around them with special double curved jigsaw scissors (on sale in the shop or online for $15 + VAT or sales tax + postage and packing)with a free mini pair of straight edged blades thrown if I order by 25th June.
But wait...............It says here "If I order by the world wide deadline date of 26th June I will receive an extra complete set
(valued at 79 cents) absolutely FREE. Think of the pleasure your special friend or relative will get when you give them the scissors handily wrapped in FFC wrapping paper (Signed by the 2013 squad except JAR and available only online for $2 per sheet)
Don't be surprised by comments like "What the **** are these for" or "Wow there is a little number on these scissors, does that mean it's a pair of limited edition scissors.
"YES IT DOES" you can reply gleefully.
Coming soon....JAR toilet paper rolls will be available in July.
Coming later....FFC condoms
Special Xmas paper with Gentleman Jim, Sean Davis and Diddy David wearing cheerful Santa hats and sporting 'Khanesque' moustaches will be available on eBay on the 1st December with a 10 closing date and FREE guaranteed delivery within 8 days.
Price: TBD on bids.
These special limited addition sheets will be limited to the amount of people who buy them by the closing date of the 11th December.
Now the good part.
The last piece will be issue @ 1pm GMT (this ensures that most ex-pats worldwide may be awake. (Sorry Australasians you may have to stay up a while)
Then the race is on to email your completed puzzle to the Competition manager.
As per FIFA rules, the winners will be announced 2 hours before the final piece is issued.
Psssssssst...my inside connection tells me clandestinely that the final piece is a blank corner, don't tell anyone
The prizes.,,,
To keep the suspense going, the prizes will be the 1916/17 Home, Away and Training socks.
There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
The last person to send their puzzle (which will probably be the third or 4th person to enter) will win the booby prize.
This brings us onto another competition.
"Suggest a reasonably priced booby prize" The winner will receive.......nothing
Here's the good news.
To avoid sensible children, teens or junior adults entering, the competition is limited to those over 25 who need the excitement.
The marketing team feel this is the best target market.
Relatives of anyone associated with players, staff, management, cleaners, gatemen, car parkers, tea ladies, groundsman, coach drivers, painters, decorators, training staff, kit men are allowed to enter.
This they feel will give the fans a sense of belonging.
Marketing are trying to find supporters to pose occasionally with one new piece of the life size jigsaws (did I mention that ?)
stuck to their torso posing as Charles Atlas.
Coming next....
The "No Thimble Collection Like Any Other"
The unique set of 2,000 different thimbles (handily numbered 1 - 2,000) and surprisingly entitled the "FFCNTCLN will feature encapsulated miniature pictures of supporter voted players
The iniquity is that the pictures and nobbly bits are on the inside, leaving you with 2,000 shiny bald blank thimbles,
but you will know who is inside each one because if you sign up by this Friday you will receive a miniature hand held microscope
at the reduced rate of $73.
The competition will run for 39 years which will truly enhance your next generations of FFC supporters who can both inherit your collection and keep adding to it.
Imagine your grandchildren asking "What did Granpa leave us" to which the reply would be "This pile of crap"
Many of us will be dead by then, what a better legacy to leave.
Oh yes, what's happening on the pitch ?
It's only a Kit, contractually they may not be able to fully release it until that date, especially if the sponsor does not agree to a non sponsor version being shown in advance.
I, like everyone, would prefer it out now in all its black and white glory, but realise this is how it all works. Almost every club does something similar.
That snap on the V-neck collar kills it for me.
Glad we're back to white and black, though.

That was rather pithier than the original poster.
I predict it will be predominately white shirts and black shorts. I know I have been close in the past but I am willing to stick by neck out here.
Never really seen the point of all this silly kit thing. But if it makes money and the kids annoy the parents to buy it. I guess it makes sense.
The black and white and pink chiffon night ware is something I personally am looking forward to.

I suppose thimble competitions are big in the states?
I agree with Lighthouse that the kit thing is overblown, however i think many of us have a more focused interest this year because of the faded WBA ready-brek kit that we had last year.

Thimble competitions are from my imagination.
Thimble collection was huge in England for many a long time. (Franklin Mint, Danbury Mint etc) both US companies who used to take several full page adverts in Sunday supplements.
The theme of my OP was that the whole 'kit thing' is overblown !
I always get a kick out of the kit fashionistas on here and other Fulham sites -- including in the US. I don't care nearly so much about the look of the kit as I do the kind of football played by the lads that wear them.
Having said that, I'm glad we got rid of Kappa and their ********* logo, and I'd love a sponsor that isn't a betting organization, something like LG, or Pizza Hut.
I am afraid these teaser things they do every year are all a little cringeworthy for me.
I just don't feel the kit release it that much of a big deal.
It's like me forming a band, booking a gig and then telling everyone tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday and not before. No bugger is really that bothered. Just get it out as soon as you can. Chelsea's used to be worn on the last home game of the previous season for pity's sake!

What you're saying makes sense and you are in a much better position to know these things than most. But (and for the record I only read the first third of that Roger rant lol) Roger does have a point. I couldnt believe how pointless that video clip was.
If anything all these little snippets of a collar or a sleeve have made me lose interest in the poxy kit rather than make me intrigued. Maybe if this was the only one so far then fine it could be a build up but its the 3rd or 4th piece via the website or twitter and it is nonsense.
If they cant release it until mid July due to sponsors then I would much rather them put a picture up with a player showing part of the kit and say OUT on 16th July, Reserve now. Something simple.
For the record it looks very nice and it better be because I am too fat to wear the LG one anymore and I am not wearing that orange nonsense again lol!

Rant ?
DB, that is not a rant it's an attempt at satire/humour and if you had read the other 2/3rds you would have seen it is also an p**s take of FFC sports marketing and merchandise,
Perhaps also if you had read it all, you wouldn't needed to reply because all you did was virtually repeat what I wrote MIAOOW

It was a good rant Roger and definitely a funny one. I browsed through the rest and it made me laugh. Your mocking of our marketing etc was spot on. I read just past JAR toilet paper and that would be interesting to say the least.
Nothing wrong with repeating the words of a fine FOF member..... is there?
I like cats MIAOWWWW!
Looks like black and white hoops on the socks
White shirt with black trim sleeves and a black collar
plus the FFC 'crest on the left breast (In color)
Black shorts with very thin white stripe down the sides
Black socks with 1-2 inch hoop at top of calf
The red in the badge is the only colour apart from assorted rainbow boots.
Oh dear, I've fallen into my own nightmare and feeling a little s'kitish'
Thimbles were very much a part of life in the past. I always remember them being around. I suppose people don't sew or mend stuff any more. With the passing of thimbles, part of our past is lost forever.
This whole kit promotion seems so childish. As mentioned above I suppose it's targeted at kids. It's pathetic as are thimbles but I really wonder if the money spent on this prolonged advertising is recouped by dragging this embarrassing delay of the new kit.

Yes I can remember Thimbles. Actually The Fugitive Richard Kimble is Cockney Slang for Thimble, and he is still looking for the One Armed Man.
Cockney actor Barry Morse was forced to stop chasing David Janssen, the Fugitive when he died in real life aged only 48 in 1980
Morse himself died in 2008 aged 89 after 60 years of marriage and 7 decades in film, TV, theater etc.
You are indeed correct, both those fine actors left their legacy. That is why Richard Kimble, the fugitive, and the One Armed man live on.
Of course, the new kit every season is a commercial exercise to make money for the club, and publicity and money for the sponsors.
Before the game became so awash with money, clubs would wear basically the same kit every season.
Most fans have their favourite kit from seasons' past, but how many of us would like to go back to the time of keeping the same shirt for several seasons? Judging by the anticipation for every new kit, a lot like the constant changing, expensive though each new shirt is.
I was a fan of David Janssen. After the Fugitive he went on play Harry O. If you turn a thimble upside down it looks like an 0. Farrah Fawcett was in Harry O for a short time and he had a boat called The Answer.

Can't exactly be to publicise and make money for sponsors when , throughout all the kit teasers, pics and videos, not one reference has been made to marathon bet or otherwise. Only head shots showing the collar.
It's a reference to the 75 kit, when infact its just a standard kit from the Adidas collection that has a collar, like the 75 kit had.
Presuming there's a hold up with the sponsor. Hoping that if its marathonbet, they will just go all black rather than their dull red, or go Fulham red. Last years kit of infrared, Fulham badge red and marathon bet red all just looked a mish mash
2 things, first I thought we had taken up the option of the 3rd year with Marathonbet, although in the leaked images 6 weeks or so ago there was no logo on the top. Second thing if we haven't then maybe we will be sponsor-less in an even more romantic link to the 75 kit (cant see that though, cash is needed by the club)
I am also hoping that the away kit is a mirror image of the home kit, although I know that wont happen as we had a black away kit this season.
Wonder what colour that will be?
Even MK Dons are doing this

Red & black striped shirt would be good , another link to the '75 kits
I have to admit I like the black away shirt.
