What a load of nonsense.

Makes me feel like I'm being treated like a kid with "are we nearly there yet ?" syndrome.

Have I got to wait until 16th July to see it ?

Who really gives a toss, we'll either like it, be OK with it, or not like it, depends on individually preferences

I can't wait until tomorrow to perhaps see a sneak preview of the left shoulder blade beneath the collar line.

Maybe someone could design a jigsaw puzzle and print one piece a day on the web site .
Ignoring Sundays which would heighten the expectation for Monday, a bit like waiting for my "Hotspur" or "Roy of the Rovers" being delivered by the paper boy.
F... me, how exciting.

We could print them off each day on Fulham Watermarked Card Stock (available from the store or online for $25 for 10 sheets)
Think of the benefits, we would have 9 sheets left and the competition could be guaranteed until 2025 !

We would need to cut around them with special double curved jigsaw scissors (on sale in the shop or online for $15 + VAT or sales tax + postage and packing)with a free mini pair of straight edged blades thrown if I order by 25th June.

But wait...............It says here "If I order by the world wide deadline date of 26th June I will receive an extra complete set
(valued at 79 cents) absolutely FREE.  Think of the pleasure your special friend or relative will get when you give them the scissors handily wrapped in FFC wrapping paper (Signed by the 2013 squad except JAR and available only online for $2 per sheet)
Don't be surprised by comments like "What the **** are these for" or "Wow there is a little number on these scissors, does that mean it's a pair of limited edition scissors.

These special limited addition sheets will be limited to the amount of people who buy them by the closing date of the 11th December.

Now the good part.
The last piece will be issue @ 1pm GMT (this ensures that most ex-pats worldwide may be awake. (Sorry Australasians you may have to stay up a while)
Then the race is on to email your completed puzzle to the Competition manager.
As per FIFA rules, the winners will be announced 2 hours before the final piece is issued.
Psssssssst...my inside connection tells me clandestinely that the final piece is a blank corner, don't tell anyone

The prizes.,,,
To keep the suspense going, the prizes will be the 1916/17 Home, Away and Training socks.
There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
The last person to send their puzzle (which will probably be the third or 4th person to enter) will win the booby prize.
This brings us onto another competition.
"Suggest a reasonably priced booby prize"  The winner will receive.......nothing

Here's the good news.
To avoid sensible children, teens or junior adults entering, the competition is limited to those over 25 who need the excitement.
The marketing team feel this is the best target market.
Relatives of anyone associated with players, staff, management, cleaners, gatemen, car parkers, tea ladies, groundsman, coach drivers, painters, decorators, training staff, kit men are allowed to enter.
This they feel will give the fans a sense of belonging.
Marketing are trying to find supporters to pose occasionally with one new piece of the life size jigsaws (did I mention that ?)
stuck to their torso posing as Charles Atlas.

Thimble competitions are from my imagination.
Thimble collection was huge in England for many a long time. (Franklin Mint, Danbury Mint etc) both US companies who used to take several full page adverts in Sunday supplements.

The theme of my OP was that the whole 'kit thing' is overblown !

I always get a kick out of the kit fashionistas on here and other Fulham sites -- including in the US. I don't care nearly so much about the look of the kit as I do the kind of football played by the lads that wear them.

Having said that, I'm glad we got rid of Kappa and their ********* logo, and I'd love a sponsor that isn't a betting organization, something like LG, or Pizza Hut.

I am afraid these teaser things they do every year are all a little cringeworthy for me.

I just don't feel the kit release it that much of a big deal.

It's like me forming a band, booking a gig and then telling everyone tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday and not before. No bugger is really that bothered. Just get it out as soon as you can. Chelsea's used to be worn on the last home game of the previous season for pity's sake!

If anything all these little snippets of a collar or a sleeve have made me lose interest in the poxy kit rather than make me intrigued. Maybe if this was the only one so far then fine it could be a build up but its the 3rd or 4th piece via the website or twitter and it is nonsense.

If they cant release it until mid July due to sponsors then I would much rather them put a picture up with a player showing part of the kit and say OUT on 16th July, Reserve now. Something simple.

For the record it looks very nice and it better be because I am too fat to wear the LG one anymore and I am not wearing that orange nonsense again lol!

It was a good rant Roger and definitely a funny one. I browsed through the rest and it made me laugh. Your mocking of our marketing etc was spot on. I read just past JAR toilet paper and that would be interesting to say the least.

This whole kit promotion seems so childish. As mentioned above I suppose it's targeted at kids. It's pathetic as are thimbles but I really wonder if the money spent on this prolonged advertising is recouped by dragging this embarrassing delay of the new kit.
