According to Raphael Gellar on Twitter:
#Breaking: Maccabi Tel Aviv have announced that Slavisa Jokanovic is leaving for Fulham
Fulham Football Club Chairman Shahid Khan today issued the following statement:
"I am extremely proud to announce that Slavisa Jokanović will be joining Fulham as our First Team Head Coach.
"We considered many quality candidates for what we considered to be one of the best positions in football, and I personally interviewed most of them.
"While the search was time-consuming and painstaking at times, I knew that when the process was complete that Fulham would have the best man possible for this opportunity and challenge.
"Slavisa's credentials and passion for the job rose to the top through every stage of this process, and we cannot wait to welcome him to Motspur Park and Craven Cottage to get things going in the right direction for the second half of the season."

Reckon we might say the same.
He leaves them on top of the league after a 5-0 win - so he must see something in us.
WooooooooooHoooooooooo
Welcome Slavisa....Man do we need you
Wow. It happened.
Wow.
I feel Jokanovic is worth a wait, and if he proves worth that wait then brilliant.
Good luck Slavisa.

Weird but the announce by Khan was posted right when Maccabi's game started (21:06 Jerusalem) and Maccabi posted it right after the game had been over (now).
By the way they won 5-0
its about bloody time, bloody hell
Hail to the mighty Khan.
A few will have egg on their faces now. Oh & there are bound to be a few slagging Jokanovic off if not started already.

Maccabi's game ko'd at 18.55 Tel Aviv time (and presumably Jerusalem) (20.55 here).
You're right. My bad.
Checked Maccabi's forum and that's what they said. Probably someone made a mistake there.

Think Jokanovic was the standout candidate for the role. Thankfully Khan has proved most of us wrong with his intent by taking time to get the seemingly 'right' candidate in place.
Funny how Shahid Khan announces the appointment and not Mike Rigg...trouble brewing?
Now why do I have this urge all of a sudden to go on Tuesday night?
Khan's certainly nailed his personal colours to the mast with this appointment. Let's hope his confidence is vindicated and Jokanovic can achieve with us what he achieved at Watford.
They're really mad at him. They say that he came there only for the CL and left them in the middle of the season while they're having a difficult battle after the title.
Would seem an excellent appointment given what he achieved with Watford last season. Let's all get behind him and hope that at last FFC has a manager under whom the club can really progress.

Agreed about the quality of Jokanovic. However it is evident on reading the release that Khan took control of the process despite having a DoF responsible for starting the process with the Clarke
40 odd days and nights in the wilderness .... Then our saviour appears from the Star of David. More than qualified to part a few defences and lead us back to the promised land. At last a profit for Rigg and Khan

Not sure about that inference... One thing it does say is that Khan didn't even interview all the candidates which to me is inconsistent with him being in control of the process
Not really - it is common in any company for a director to interview a candidate, but only when they get through to a certain stage of the recruitment. He isn't going to waste his time interviewing everyone before they've even got through the initial stages.
Plus the "evidence" about Rigg - leave it out, there's no evidence whatsoever. If Rigg had announced the appointment you'd still be kicking off about Rigg being arrogant or power hungry, and Khan being absent or whatever.
(that's not aimed at Statto btw)
"And I personally interviewed most of them."
Hmmm. No mention of Rigg at all.
Glad we have got this one over the line. Really glad.
Brilliant news. Spend the rest of this season getting us into shape for a proper crack at promotion next season.
Welcome to Fulham...

Good choice! Very happy with the decision, just disappointed that it's taken so long that we're now out of play off contention.
Do we think Curbishley, Rigg and Gray will all stay on? Looks a bit like a case of "we've got 3 (4?!) managers" again?
Fulham name former Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic as new head coach

Fulham have confirmed that former Watford manager Slavisa Jokanovic is their new head coach - 49 days after sacking previous boss Kit Symons.
The 47-year-old Serbian leaves his post as boss of Maccabi Tel Aviv, who currently top the Israeli Premier League and lost all six of their Champions League Group G games this season.
Jokanovic joined the Israeli champions after leading Watford to promotion from the Championship last term. He had joined the Hornets on a short-term deal and was unable to agree a longer contract in the summer.
But after returning to England, Fulham chairman Shahid Khan said: "I am extremely proud to announce that Slavisa will be joining as our first team head coach.

Slavisa's credentials and passion for the job rose to the top through every stage of this process, and we cannot wait to welcome him.
Shahid Khan
"We considered many quality candidates for what we considered to be one of the best positions in football, and I personally interviewed most of them.
"While the search was time-consuming and painstaking at times, I knew that when the process was complete that Fulham would have the best man possible for this opportunity and challenge.
"Slavisa's credentials and passion for the job rose to the top through every stage of this process, and we cannot wait to welcome him to Motspur Park and Craven Cottage to get things going in the right direction for the second half of the season."

Fulham have indeed endured a "painstaking" search for a new head coach that has seen them fail in their efforts to hire at least four different candidates.
After sacking Symons on November 8, the club said they initially hoped to have a new man in charge over subsequent international break but instead saw moves for Nigel Pearson, Steve Clarke, Paul Lambert and Gary Rowett all go wrong.
Reports then emerged of an interest in Rangers boss Mark Warburton, but Sky Sports News HQ understands the Whites have never explored the idea of bringing him to Craven Cottage and Warburton declared he had no interest in a move.
Fulham's U21s boss Peter Grant took the first team for three matches - two draws and a defeat that left them 16th in the table - before the Whites brought in former Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray into an interim role.
Gray has overseen two draws and two defeats but will continue as a senior first-team coach under the new man.

I was defending Rigg. My point was it seems that Rigg was still managing the process with Khan just having final sign-off.
Sorry I edited straight after posting as I wasn't clear - that second paragraph wasn't aimed at you! I was half agreeing half disagreeing.
Let's remember patience is what we all need it's not gonna happen overnight he knows nothing much of the players he's inheriting and he can't get anymore for the time being so let's give him plenty of support Tuesday evening.

It was my lucky shirt and scarf that did it. Just arrived back from Japan. Haven't had it during the whole bad run. You could probably blame the whole thing on me.
Might start a thread on when will the new head coach win his first game? Reckon it could rival rl63 thread. Specially as we don't know when he's starting

That is a rather creative reading of the text. So Khan was involved and interviewed the candidates. That seems much the same as MAF did or any other involved owner would do.

He's took Watford up but least we forget that he had the support of two parent clubs in doing so - Granada and Udinese.
Will be interesting to see what he can do with this team given there's going to be no new additions come January.
" Slaggers" have gone to ground or still in the pub.

Excellent work Rigg and thanks Khan.........

Great news, absolutely delighted!
Good manager who should be able to do good things with this squad.
Look he starts now he is bound to be watching footage of old games. and he will need to meet the players. So within a week he is bound to be here. Will things change hopefully yes but if not then soon. I live in Watford and know he was held in high regard last season. The fact is though so is their new guy.
All previous performances are in the past. Have to look forward now. We must back him through and through, and hopefully the future is bright.
A couple of Tweets - One from Jordi Cruyff thanking him for his work and wishing him well at Fulham. One from the legend Brian McBride - Here's to coach Jokanovic getting us back up the table.
8 years ago today Roy Hodgson was appointed Fulham manager
Dobro dosao Slavisa!!!!!!
At last, and thank goodness it was somebody who will hopefully be worth the wait!
Get in there. Looks like I won't have to kick my family member in the nads.
It's probably too early for him to take charge against Rotherham - perhaps he will watch from the stands and sit on the bench for the first time against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. It works for me as I can't be there on Tuesday!
Well - can say that this is likely the best appointment we could make at the Championship level. We should thank our lucky stars, however if it doesn't happen now the thoughts become scary...
Well Mr. Slavisa! Get out there and show us Watford 2.0
(Now where did I put Ighalo 2.0??)
Fulham appoint Jokanovic. Is this the right move or will it backfire.
Hopefully we can at least win our home game tomorrow.
He did very well in getting Watford promoted last season.
Yes, he did very well and they played attractive football.
I'm very pleased with this appointment; I have to say that he was my preference of all the names that were seriously mentioned when Kit was fired. I appreciate that we had to wait until Maccabi were eliminated from the PL but hope that the wait will have been worthwhile. Not sure when he'll take up duties, almost certainly not in time for Rotherham but maybe for the weekend.
I look forward with optimism.

People who call the custodians of our club to task are still here. To a man, it seems, we are delighted with the appointment. However it took 7 weeks instead of the hoped for two weeks thus removing any hope of a play off place, we still have a transfer embargo and a poor football team. How right you are 'excellent work Rigg'. However at long last it seems as though Khan has made a good appointment. I hope it is as I am not sure what the future holds if this move ends in failure.
