spurs were there for the taking, if we got a proper forward we would give ourselves a brilliant chance of racing up the table.

If TK hadnt not been sat on his hands all summer we wouldnt have stood a chance of coming close to a point tonight. The fact he brought in 8 fantastic players this summer (Areola, Tete, Aina, Anderson, Tosin, Robinson Lemina and Reed)  plus kept hold of Anguissa (our best player in years). Literally the only potentiall "dud" so far is RLC who shows glimmers of promise here and there and may yet go on to turn it around.

That's an alarmingly good window... but people are still moaning that hes not done enough or acted early enough for their liking....like hes deliberately swanning about unaware that we might need a striker and telling teams that hes enquired with not to bother rushing through the sales of their players as wed rather just wait till the last day of the window ya know,  just cos .

we needed a forward, it was obvious and we didn't get one. what the boards did was scandalous in terms of not assembling a poroper squad. if we don't get a forward soon we are way more likely to go down. to remind you we are sitting in the bottom three and we are fairly toothless in front of goal.

thinking playing without a forward line is a good thing is what beggars belief.

We don't have enough forwards to score enough goals
Need further investment so the good work to date is not wasted

Tony Khan is THE BEST DOF IN THE WORLD to solve our current problems. Our Two Problem's are simple i) "find money we don't have for a striker" (DOF needs to steal it from Tony Khans inheritance) and ii) "find a way not to ruin next seasons FFP budget". Only a DOF that can solve those two problems has any chance of buying a striker.

Frankly, very few DOFs could solve the first problem apart from a Khan, but the second problem is a financial problem also that is possibly unsolvable for any DOF even TK with decent accounting skills. FFP means once a team spends its money they cannot then spend more, unless we cheat by the DOF valuing Seri at £10m and Knockaert at £10m too, but those valuations will horrifically hurt us next season, as we will sell them for less.

Let's be real....in the summer our main priority and talking point was not conceding goals and revamping the defence. It was the number 1 target to not repeat last prem seasons mistakes. We did that, unequivocally. We also added an extremely good attacking player in Lookman and another who looked a great option on paper (RLC) who many of us thought would do more then he has.

At that point we still had Mitro to lead the line who has been such a big player for us, and  was still scoring well at international level. In the summer most of us were saying we should get a backup striker and were disappointed we didnt. Now with hindsight we are all 1000% sure we should have signed a starting striker. Fact is it's not always a breeze to assemble a complete squad in 1 window. What we did was nothing short of remarkable in terms of success rate, and we did it on a tight budget which means hopefully now have enough left over to improve even further and solidly the full starting 11.

Again, yes, we are in the bottom 3, but with everything in our hands....2 points off, playing well, 2 games in hand...then a game against Brighton the team above us. There is no reason with this team as it is, that we cant be above them by the time our match with them is over.

If in that time we manage to find a top striker then fantastic. But I'm confident enough in what I'm seeing from this team that I'd sooner not rush buy a striker were not so hot on, and instead stick to our main targets that we think give us the best chance of winning games and laying the foundation for next season. I trust this team enough that they can win a number of games in the latter part of the season if we bring in the right forwards this window. But it needs to.be the right forward and reality is, as stated over and over by agents, managers and dof's alike...often those deals go to the wire. Like it or not.
Just try to enjoy the moment...we just earned a great point away from home at a top club...

I read this evening that Slimani has left Leicester.

It could be said that a 32-year-old striker who, though not without a track record and P.L. experience, has been out of sorts this season (just a solitary substitute's appearance) is the type of forward we should aiming to grab for a quick fix. What chance, however, when the player has the opportunity to go to a club such as Lyon?

But, no, it must be easy to go out a pick up a striker good enough for our needs. Lyon clearly must have overlooked a host of better strikers who are waiting to be snapped up and, instead, made a signing that, for a club of their standing, can only be looked upon as inexplicable.

actually, and not to start a foolish argument. Most informed and intelligent opinion suggested we needed a new defence AND forwards. we only got last minute defenders when we were being ripped to shreds at the start of the season and now we are desparate for a forward line that we were also desparate for. having only and injured/out of form (or whatever else is wrong with him, Mitro was never going to work.

Unfortunately the amazing defence of the DoF is a bit like a defeated presedent saying he won when he lost. the defence is good but the squad remains thread bare at the other end. not scoring goals will in the end see us relegated... the last five draws are proof of that. good not to loose, good to perform well, but any team know that we are toothless. TK needs to get a forward ir two in quick. it is as simple as that.

the defence of TK is staggering in the speed its volume, lack of substance and the lack of clarity... we need forwards despartely, points are slipping away as a result and we are in the bottom three as a result. if we get a couple of forwards, half decent but at least some proper forards, even if they do not work out, then at least we woll have tried to assmble a proper squad, as it is we are playing russian roulette.

I was one of those who would like to have signed forwards too in the summer but I can appreciate fairly obviously the biggest priority was completely replacing our defence. Which we did with unbelievable success...how many other clubs can say they bought an entire new defence in one window and none of them were a failure.

Yes theres more work to do...and the interviews released from the club suggest we know that and are working on it...so just stop.

Were back in the prem where many other clubs have fallen without a trace and performing well against top clubs, it's really not such a catastrophe and not the work of hapless amateurs. This is the most entertained I've been by a fulham team in a while.

To measure our success you have to consider where we started and just how far weve come...there was ALOT of work to do...and weve gone a huge way to remedying it...now theres a few more touches and it's been made very clear by Scott and the club that that is the focus now.

Were mid window right now. Stop acting like it's a foregone conclusion were not gonna bring anyone in, why do people assume complete idiocy all the time when theres plenty to suggest were looking at the front line in this window...just sit it out till the end of the window and save the whinging until then. If we fail to sign forwards by then I'll be the first along with you saying they messed up and it could cost us.
If we were cut adrift and bottom of the table I might be more inclined to agree with you but were performing really well , easily in touching distance and theres half a season left with us improving all the time.

thank god the club dont change their plans and sign anyone just for the sake of appeasing negative impatient folk on football boards. They've earnt my patience, last year they gave Scott a squad more than capable of promotion....we achieved it. Again this Summer they recruited really well and we could be on course to achieve our goal again. The window is still open let's see what we get in....but it's in our hands. That reason enough for me to trust that they are learning lessons and things are improving.

Again....this team as it is nearly beat Liverpool (deserved to), Beat Liecester, drew with Spurs, has been cheated out of multiple wins by VAR (let's not underplayed that, we really have been screwed by VAR a number of times this year.) Enough now. Find some patience and if come the end of the season we didnt add a forward and it sends us down I'll be on the front line with you saying they really ballsed up.

Yes the players TK signed this summer have turned out good on the whole, and I'm generally prepared to give him credit for that, but it comes with a few caveats.

Firstly, when we say good, in some cases we mean 'good... value for money'. If Aina, Robinson and maybe even Tosin had come with the expectation of a £15-£20m price tag I've a feeling we'd be saying they were average to poor signings. The fact we couldn't afford £15-£20m players this time around was because TK put us in such a deep hole in 18/19, we're still digging our way out.

Second, this is the fifth year since TK took control of transfers from Rigg, so whilst I'm hoping it's a sign that he's improving, the concern is it may just be down to the principle that even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day. Let's see.

Finally, and most pertinently, there are several metrics on which you can score transfers - not just the quality of the player, and value for money against the fee paid, but also the timing. It's better to sign a 8/10 player early and have him for 38 games, than to sign a 9/10 player on the last day of the window and only have him for 33 games, with a 1/10 like Tim Ream playing the other 5 games (do the maths on those numbers). I can forgive TK for thinking in the summer that Cavaleiro, Mitrovic, Lookman and Reid would be enough up front, but at least one of the CBs should have been signed sooner and I think it unquestionable that the delay cost us several points.

In this window the glaring need is for a forward and again, if we leave it to the last day of the window, it will probably cost us points, most likely in the West Brom and Brighton games,

We were also playing a completely different system in the summer and early part of the season. It wasn't until the Leicester match that Parker committed to the change in style. Our forward, Mitrovic, didn't start until Newcastle, in which we had already been in full flow of the new system.

Now the system is rock solid and everyone is up to speed. Our true forward at this moment is Cavaleiro - who scored a crucial goal tonight. He's got the momentum from here on out and I'm sure Mitro is ready to reclaim that spot, not to mention gunning for RLC's spot when he's the second forward - like he was tonight in the 3-5-2.

What we need now is the depth that will push those players further. Is that going to come from Mitro, Onomah, Kamara, Cairney and Kebano? Throw into the mix that BDR vs RLC is now a reality because Cav won't be dropped, and Tete has reclaimed the RWB spot. Not to mention Lookman surely won't be touched. So understanding that, who can truly be thrown into the equation?

We need a striker so bad, I was hoping we would get Callum Wilson in the summer but I think we were priced out of a move.

Realistically we're looking for a player to come in on loan with an option if we stay up. Or maybe players whose contracts expire in the summer or players that just aren't playing or free agents.

Either way we need someone in. I like Arkadiusz Milik (contract up in the summer) and Alfredo Morelos (up and down season and the manager mentioned earlier in the season that his head has been turned). I don't think any of the players in the championship that have been mentioned here will be available on loan and I think the above two could be done

I'm confident well get one come the end of the window...but for now were competing really well against top teams, no need to rush and buy our 6th or 7th choice target when we could land someone much more likely to do what we need whi may not be available till late in the window- and if the summers anything to go by well be doing our best to make sure it's one on the level of those we have already signed.

Congrats to the board, they have assembled a team more than capable of staying up, now they just need to add the final piece or 2, Rome wasnt built in a day. But it needs to.be the right forward and reality is, as stated over and over by agents, managers and dof's alike...often those deals go to the wire. Like it or not.

Our priority was all over the pitch. There were lots of posts about 'we need a striker' in the summer, the fans were aware. The club has known for some time. No doubt they tried to get a striker / strikers in during the Summer, but couldn't for what ever reason.  Time is against us, almost half the season has gone, we have the only recognized striker on the bench or absent for whatever reason.   

Firstly I don't think TK has the nous to do anything by design, like many in the recruitment game he has to play pot luck, keep all his digits crossed, and this season he has struck lucky.  There is a good team in this current Fulham squad, even a very good team, but it takes time and energy to turn recruits into substance and my hat is raised to Scott Parker who is currently proving to be a real thorn in the side of all his many critics, and is really motivating his charges to deliver the quality we are beginning to see.  I am pretty sure that Jokanovic is nodding his approval of what he sees of the guy who once assisted him.

Did you not read my first sentence? My analogy would be someone who goes to an auction to bid for the top lots, is outbid by more experienced bidders, and has to settle for lesser lots among which are items that appear more valuable than other 'experts' thought they were.  But Parker is the one who needs all the credit because, like Jokanovic, he has found a way of putting it all together, getting it performing well and yet still improving.  And yes, the Khans (eventually) recruited Parker but not until after having soured everything they had done coach wise in the previous four years.

And your last sentence re 'marginalising' him is strange - what do you mean by that?  Ignore what he says?  Ostracise him in some way? He is an integral and important part of Fulham FC.

Well said JayFFC. TK is learning and has provided what we all agreed was needed, a defence. Was he to know that Mitro would lose form? Mitro will come back and score goals. As for a new striker of course it would be great . However, lots of sides want a good striker so competition is fierce. Then comes the question of money. The Khan's are not a bottomless well of cash, they are businessmen. Apart from any FFP problems we have to factor in the fact that globally the automotive market is about 45% down, which means their main concern will also be a similar figure down. £20mill for a good striker added to calls to sign both Lookman and Anderson taking the figure well north of £60 mill is a huge call. Do they lay off loyal workers in the States so we can sign some new players. If they feel they can afford it then great but if not we should appreciate what they have and continue to do. COYW

Yes , we need a new striker but it has to be one better than Reid, Kamara ,Cav and Kebano and one prepared to face a relegation battle with us as well as not to demand top six club wages . Of course the transfer fee must not be excessive and he must be fit, premier league proven and ready to hit the ground running.
I wonder how many players we have on our short list that meets our requirements and whether these players have not been identified by other clubs.

It is not easy and when you remember some of the big money failures we have had in transfer dealing there is always a risk involved.
Make no mistake it is best to make certain that you hold on to your top players, replacing them is not easy No way do we want to lose Mitro, we just couldn't replace him.

I honestly wouldn't swap our our first choice back five or midfield for any other in the Premier League at the moment. They are organised, motivated, confident and working brilliantly as a unit.  If they hold that form and we avoid too many injuries then I don't think we will any problem staying up - provided we bring in a decent striker.

I have said all over the place how well we are playing and ebven this thread is the same. We are playing brilliantly.

What I also said was that it was clear as we got the unexpected promotion that we needed forwards every bit as much as defenders before the season started. Last night and the four previous draws absolutely highlited that issue. we are a forward short of being substantially further up the table. the back 3 have really clicked, the midfield looks pretty decent and then nothing at the front unfortunately. It was and is totally obvious. the transfer window is open, Parker has said we need a forward so far no action.

We arethrowing points away in games we could and should be winning. for the lack of a forward. If we get poeple and they dod not work out I will cope, but to get nobody? I do start threads on the subject and join in, less than I used to, with other people's because there is no apparent movement and I am sure if we get anyone at all it will be at the very last moment and that means more games will pass us by.

At the moment we should be in a brilliant place to attract talent because we have clearly turned a corner, now we need to take advantage of that.

Or that we believe that sensible dialogue doesn't start with outright giving zero credit to, and "marginalizing" the man who, along with his 3 tick system, LITERALLY assembled this team in the first place. Seems an utterly wild place to start. Right, let's give no credit to the person who identified, bidded for, and signed this team of players, but assign all credit to the manager instead who's job it is to work with the players at his disposal? That, for many, is a completely unsensible place to begin a dialogue. Surely sensible is to admit that it takes many elements to succeed. The manager needs enough talent to work with, and the board needs a manager capable of getting the best from the tools they provide and the club needs to hope that the players perform to the level we can reasonably expect from them given what they've shown in their careers to this point. People engaging in sensible dialogue were criticizing Parker when over a sustained period we were underperforming, but now are capable, and willing to acknowledge the improvements he has made and the good work he is currently doing. And actively celebrate and support his achievements even if they are surprising to us given the earlier indications.

Last year pretty much unanimously we agreed during the summer TK had given Parker a great set of players on paper with whom he should be more than capable of achieving promotion. We did. Que?? On what basis is this evidenced by our Summer signings? We brought in some really highly rated players? Joachim Anderson was a record signing for Lyon that had fallen out of favour for one season, Tete a well established top league player and Dutch international, Robinson was courted by AC Milan before seeing his transfer fall through due to medical reasons, Man City fans were universally gutted about losing Tosin who had a cracking season as Blackburn, Areola has a huge CV with Champions league experience. Never mind the fact that at a club like Fulham, having been promoted via the playoffs -HAS to look to players with potential (lesser lots) or that may have gone off the boil slightly at their current club. Of course we can not always compete for the same players (top lots) as the european clubs, of course, its hard even to compete against more established mid-table teams (your West Hams and Evertons etc) As we statistically have a higher chance of being relegated. What kind of summary is this..... It's a pretty simple concept to understand and not particularly suprising. A better summary for our first window back in the prem is, look a the teams we got promoted with and who do we think did a better job in the market than us. Honestly even Leeds I wouldn't swap our squad with, I would rather have the team we have, and add a striker + ideally a RW to the mix.

Surely it is the job of a DOF of a newly promoted club like ours to think outside the box and identify targets we think can do a better job than others do. Just look at Brentford who so many of us fawn over all the time for their scouting...that's literally their whole schtick!

I'm all up for sensible dialogue....I'm just clearly, along with apparently many in this thread, not seeing much of it. Is it really so hard to just say - he did a great job with the players he brought in in the summer - were a different team - now carry on the transformation and bring in the final pieces of the jigsaw....and be done with it. You don't need to fall at TK's feet, I'm certainly not suggesting he's perfect or does everything right, and I too want him to add the final pieces of the puzzle. But following his success rate in the last window, I'm all ears to see who we end up bringing in, in what is a tough window (Brexit and Covid issues abound according to many football folk)

This, I sincerely hope, as all of us probably do, that we address this issue this window. I don't think the club would have released official interviews like Parkers suggesting we need to address our forward options this window, if they werent aware, or actively trying to do that.
I am not of the opinion from our current level of play (unbeaten in 5 and against some very good teams) that it will be too late come the end of the window. I'd like for it to be sooner if it's possible, but if it isn't I'm not losing sleep over it just yet and if leaving it laters means we can get targets higher up our list due to the nature of these things, so be it.

As ever can't wait for this window to be over so we can just get on with it and see what we've brought in. Fingers crossed

Mitro is our only recognized striker, so Khan Junior has been aware for a long time that we are short in that department. It has nothing to do with Mitro's form. We hardly spent any funds during the Summer transfer window.

I agree. If we lose the next 22 matches and not signed a quality striker in this window, I wonder if his stance will change, that Khan Jr has done a rubbish job.

Apart from any FFP problems we have to factor in the fact that globally the automotive market is about 45% down, which means their main concern will also be a similar figure down. £20mill for a good striker added to calls to sign both Lookman and Anderson taking the figure well north of £60 mill is a huge call. Do they lay off loyal workers in the States so we can sign some new players. If they feel they can afford it then great but if not we should appreciate what they have and continue to do. COYW

Mitro is our only recognized striker, so Khan Junior has been aware for a long time that we are short in that department. It has nothing to do with Mitro's form. We hardly spent any funds during the Summer transfer window.   

Are you privy to how much we had to spend? Exactly? No me neither so I have no idea what constraints we are working within and see it pointless to speculate. No one's saying we weren't light on attacking options, people are saying they were aware it would have been preferable to bring in another option in the summer. BUT for whatever reasons and there could be many, we didn't manage it in summer. However, I dont think many of us were expecting Mitro to be as redundant as he has been all season (remember he was scoring early on in our first few games as well) ....Had he even contributed a couple more goals (including missed penalties) we could be well out of the drop zone with 2 games in hand.  It is remarkable that the only thing we have to worry about at this point is filling 1 or 2 positions. Thats a good place to be during this Jan window. The team doesn't need an overhaul - due to the overwhelming success of the major changes we made in the summer. (9 of 11 starters are signings brought in this summer) .
Now the task is simple... Striker and if possible a RW. The club has made noises saying they see this as the objective...Let's just see what happens now. Again , if we were stranded bottom and struggling badly I might be more enclined to moan- but we've come along way...now to finish the job

I've predicted a 8th or higher finish, that was before the season started, I've continued to post that. 14 goals in 16 matches is one of the lowest in the Prem league. If we don't remedy that, we are going to struggle big time. This is going by our finishing since the season has started.

It's not a breeze signing notoriously prolific scorers in the January window, let alone mid covid and Brexit dramas, but let's just see what the window brings.
We are capable of winning games, but even if we keep drawing we wont ge cut adrift by the end if the window.

We have 4 games to come before the end of the season...2 against chelsea and man utd are tough, 2 very winnable games against Brighton and WBA....even if we lost the next 2, but got 4 points from the latter (in line with our previous games against them) I'd hazard an educated guess wed still be well in the hunt and hopefully with a decent new forward option or 2 to really start racking up points I'm the second half of the season.

Can't believe this thread. Do people really expect any DOF to entirely replace a team in one window? We were so bad defensively at the start of the season that Messi and Reynaldo wouldn't have  kept us up. Regardless of how entertaining 4-5 matches are, they are still losses. In a matter of weeks the club became competitive in the league. Some here seem to thing that all a DOF has to do is ring up another DOF and say hey, send over so-and-so and his 20 goals a season and I'll pay what ever you want. Clearly, those people have never met a payroll or turned a business profitable and furthermore don't understand how wealth works. Also, why so damn negative? We have gone toe to toe with 4 of the best teams in the world in the last few weeks and have gotten a result in three of them.

actully, yes it is his job to assemble an appropriate squad. I cannot believe how many people defend the fact the DoF failed miserably to get a forward that we needed desparately. it was as obvious as the nose on your face. evben the defenders seemed a panic. But to be clear, that is his job to make it so, I do not think it would have been that hard to bring in at least one center forward. It may not have worked out but at least get them!

defending this inactivity is not of any use to our future well being.

I am the most positive optimistic person i have ever met. when we lost to torquay(I do hope I do not need to explain the import of the reference) I said that I believed there was no reason we could not rise like a phoenix and reclaim our rightful place in the top league and even get into europe. and despite being told that was all a pipe dream, MAF came along and all my dreams came true. the sky was the limit, more or less. under that administration everything was not always perfect but we did have full time profesionals in charge rather than a likeable amateur that belives his own rhetoric.

clearly the current leader did a bit better this time but he overlooked a fundamental part of building a proper team and that was decent forwards. Yes of course he should have done that last transfer window, you have to be pretty short sited not to know that. and if you read the generality of my posts it says we are a forward short of being a genuinely very good team. now the leader may have overlooked getting such a player in summer, but surely he sees it now and we need somedoy sooner rather than later and then who knows what we might be capable of.... a top half finish for sure. that is optimistic, a positive outlook.

How we goes about doing that is completely bloody irrelevant - he ultimately is in charge of how we choose to identify and negotiate with, our transfer targets. Hes chosen to to that by balancing his stat teams work, with the work of a scouting team he appoints and the ideas of his manager.

Hes a director...No ones expecting him to be out scouting individual players by himself, hes the manager of our transfer system for gods sake. Literally no one said well done Tony for individually, single handedly doing every single part of the transfer process....but he is the one in charge of our transfer system....so when it does well, he deserves praise. Again...we signed 9 (9!) Huge upgrades on our starters... That's a massive ask and not many teams that can say that if any this season.

It's our first season back in the prem- and we are a now a competitive team when we were dead certs for relegation prior to that...thats a huge change around...Almost every team in the league will have last pieces of the puzzle to fill this january were a long way from the only ones and we had a harder task that most...next year...that task will be much smaller...

I was gonna say spare us all this until the end of the window now but whatever, whinge away man. At least most people in here seem to realise how insanely spoilt and blinkered this all sounds considering the reality of the clubs situation.

Weve been a competitive team without new forwards, if it weren't for awful VAR decisions wed be a number of places higher in the table, we missed a plethora of penalties too...its fine margins , well sign a forward and hopefully even you might have to give some credit to our board

We "desperately" needed a better defence, none of us thought we "desperately" needed a new starting forward as we had Mitro. Hindsight is a magical thing and you clearly possess good amounts of it, but we didn't know Mitro was going to struggle as he had. TK does deserve praise for his management or overseeing of the incoming defenders and for my mind the keeper who has been incredible. We saw in the first few games how much the back 5 needed revamping. We got a very very good wide player in Lookman (that we needed perhaps more at the time than a CF).
i think your criticism is unfair as any clubs fans could point at positions they'd like more players in, just like us.

I'm confident well get one come the end of the window...but for now were competing really well against top teams, no need to rush and buy our 6th or 7th choice target when we could land someone much more likely to do what we need whi may not be available till late in the window- and if the summers anything to go by well be doing our best to make sure it's one on the level of those we have already signed.

Congrats to the board, they have assembled a team more than capable of staying up, now they just need to add the final piece or 2, Rome wasnt built in a day. And congrats to Scott Parker who'm I had doubted for a while given the many underwhelming performances wed seen last year...the team look in good shape, finally have a semblance of fight and quality about them,and our defence is extremely solid,...Also we have the best keeper weve had since Van Der Sar and just drew with Spurs away and all you got to say is.....Bloody Tony Khan .... beggars belief

It's not a breeze signing notoriously prolific scorers in the January window, let alone mid covid and Brexit dramas, but let's just see what the window brings.
We are capable of winning games, but even if we keep drawing we wont ge cut adrift by the end if the window.

We have 4 games to come before the end of the season...2 against chelsea and man utd are tough, 2 very winnable games against Brighton and WBA....even if we lost the next 2, but got 4 points from the latter (in line with our previous games against them) I'd hazard an educated guess wed still be well in the hunt and hopefully with a decent new forward option or 2 to really start racking up points I'm the second half of the season.

The season isn't over, so I'm not 'disappointed', I'm very optimistic, such is my posting history each week since the start of the season. I'm disappointed in the number of goals we have scored. 14 in 16 isn't good, considering we are approaching the half way mark in the season. So I understand you're 'carry on as we are' approach, but it's a simple fact that teams need to score goals to win matches. We aren't at a stage where we can say the 'defence' are air tight, if we score one goal, and make an error, the opposition score, then we need more goals. So that is exactly where I am.

we needed a forward, it was obvious and we didn't get one. what the boards did was scandalous in terms of not assembling a poroper squad. if we don't get a forward soon we are way more likely to go down. to remind you we are sitting in the bottom three and we are fairly toothless in front of goal.

thinking playing without a forward line is a good thing is what beggars belief.

TK owns and helped design and put in place a stat based program designed to identify targets for us to sign. His job is quite literally to manage transfers. How we goes about doing that is completely bloody irrelevant - he ultimately is in charge of how we choose to identify and negotiate with, our transfer targets. Hes chosen to to that by balancing his stat teams work, with the work of a scouting team he appoints and the ideas of his manager.

Hes a director...No ones expecting him to be out scouting individual players by himself, hes the manager of our transfer system for gods sake. Literally no one said well done Tony for individually, single handedly doing every single part of the transfer process....but he is the one in charge of our transfer system....so when it does well, he deserves praise. What is so hard to understand about that? Well done Scott for doing well with a good set of players...and well done Tony for running our transfer system in a way that saw those players sign....let's not forget he also has to do the negotiating part.

Here here Jay! There are certain fans who everything is bad always, and there must some major change. It's so common across English club football fans. It's very sad and unproduction, not to mention mentally unhealthy. It is what it is and these folks aren't going to grow out of it or think themselves out it.

Is it really "scandalous" or "shocking" that we don't have another out and out striker in our squad? Not in my view. "Calm down dear" seems appropriate.

It doesnt matter the season hasn't finished...the fact that you expect a top 8 finish from a club that finished 3rd in the championship at the beginning says it all about where your heads at. Theres being positive...(I'd love that too dont get me wrong, and it's not impossible, just very, very, very, very statistically improbable)then theres delusional...If your assumption then was that anything lower than 8th would be disappointing come the end of the season then where does one even begin with that logic...I suggest you temper your expectations ever so slightly at this moment in time or its going to be a very disappointing time following a club like Fulham.

So you want a striker in this window ...like we all do, and like the club has stated it does... but you also want to whinge about Tony because you're working on the assumption that a club like Fulham thats finished in the top 8 how many times in its entire history!??! Should be able to perfectly overhaul its entire squad in one window having finished 3rd in the championship (something we were criticised for last time out in the prem) and should be up there ideally competing for a place in Europe their first season back in the prem, and the fact that they did improve arguably 9 of 11 starting positions but missed out on a CF and RW (but are saying that they want to strengthen forward options in this window) means TK is useless...... got it. We have a better side than Burnley imo, regardless of them being higher in the table than us.
