Not much midfield cover if Reed or Lukic get a knock (or red). Perhaps we are going to go long and miss out the midfield. Or maybe defend in depth at the back and look for a breakaway

I thought besides the first 10 minutes and the last 5 minutes, we totally controlled the game and have been looking great.
Willian and Solomon create panic on Brentford's back line and the technical ability of our front 4 pushes Brentford to play almost 10 men behind.
Just let's keep playing the same way we've been paying those middle 30 minutes and we can win it.

Brentford started excellently, the flare on the pitch seemed to help us. We dominated most of the rest of the half without really doing anything. We need ALOT more from Mitro, he needs to focus on getting in the box, especially as we keep just lumping it into the area, and half the time he isnt there. We need to vary up our attacking play, its so one dimensional.
Lukic very lucky to still be on the pitch. He needs to be very careful as he wont get away with another. We cant afford to play with 10. As always I wish Reed would just stay in CM and stop roaming out right. Leaves us so open on the counter. But I've been complaining about it for months.
I'd be tempted to sub Willian off. He doesnt seem as effective on the right, and is on a booking.

Lukic was lucky not to get a yellow for foul at the end, but the yellow he got was never a yellow. Willian also getting a yellow for diving, yet Toney not getting even a yellow for his ridiculous tackle that should have been a red. Also Damsgard should have got a yellow for his tackle before our free kick.

Lukic not up to Premier speed yet. I think the head injury helped him get away with the yellow. If he's groggy we need to change him. If not he needs to play conservatively. Not sure who would be an improvement defensively which is where we need it.
Lukic should've had a second yellow. We've been insanely lucky there and I'd be fuming if it'd gone the other way. Maybe the ref threw him a bone because of the kick in the face a minute before.

Bad sub IMO. Manor has looked sharper than Mitro and Pereira in this game. Plus he has shown he can score at any moment. It feels Marco wanted to make a change for the sake of change. I'd much rather replace Reed and put BDR at CAM instead. We lacked someone that can push the ball forward from midfield.

The problem we have, is the entire offensive strategy is based around Mitro. When he's playing poorly (as he has been for weeks) we struggle to create anything. We've been getting results from individual brilliance mainly from Solomon. In recent games we've barely created anything from open play.
We need a plan B.
If Mitro is still carrying an injury I just wouldnt play him personally

When was the last time we played well? Chelsea home? Mitro hasnt put in above a 4/10 performance since Leicester on Jan 3rd.
Reed is not a premier league midfielder, he is completely undisciplined and leaves huge gaps in CM. He has absolutely no positional sense, and tried to get by by running about alot
Mitro just looks miles off the pace sadly..

Brentford have had 2 weeks off and had 12 men. A poor performance from us but they had everything in their favour. Plus Palhinha out! We'll smash them at the cottage next season. And in that hideous Lego stadium!!

Sad thing is most of the subs have been even worse. Terrible play by Soares put us under pressure for their third goal and Wilson embarrassingly lightweight for this division

Sorry, must of watched a different game. Saw a player not holding the ball well, lacking in the press and just looking a few yards off his game. Putting it down to his post injury match fitness but hope to see more from him in some big games coming up.

But never mind, Toney has been hailed as the second coming, and all is right with the world.
I think they were the better side overall but not the best footballing side. They had more energy than us and got the breaks. Deflection and soft penalty. We put up a fight but we're lacking in the penalty area where it counts.
