Poor giveaways by Tete, then Berge and then, finally, by Robinson. Poor foul from Berge at the end of that sequence too.

For all smith Rowe seemed a bit off it for so long, he's starting to really gel at the moment.

I like the way he's started to drop deep more and play with his back to goal.

And he still gets goals!

I actually disliked him long before fulham, the fulham fiasco makes him a little bit of like the pantomime villain.

I enjoy a bit of that too 😂.

Bassey is not a good CB.  Not at all.

In the transfer window I wouldn't have a problem with Fulham spending 25 mil on a starting caliber CB to replace Bassey.   And no, I don't think Cuenca is him.

I think it's coaching more than personnel tbh. They just don't seem to be consistent in their line, how they structure or press, and it looks like frazzled thinking when we are attacked. Probably doesn't help that we play Iwobi as a CM now to give us more attacking output which in turn reduces our defensive solidity

Not sure about Raul either, he's done naff all and needs a break. Go false 9 with Wilson or Chucky up top and get Kevin at LW. Burnley's line is so high that a quick forward will have so many chances to get in behind

After last weeks debacle with the odd substitutions the next few minutes could be interesting. Shore things up, press their defence and aim for a third and three points or take ESR and Harry off and put Reed in centre mid???
Personally I think Traore will scare the pants off the back four even though he has been pants lately.

Some good counterattacking but the defence is under pressure yet again because we've lost the central midfield, so 25 yards out Burnley players have too much space and time to play a through ball into the area behind our defenders.

Agreed. As long as we don't improve Bassey's spot for defense...I'm never going to feel good with only a 1 run lead.   He doesn't read plays well enough.   Or he's not coached to read defenses the right way.

Glad Robinson is getting minutes because he's woefully out of shape.

Unbelievably bad ball retention!
If we are fielding a team with no bite in midfield we really can't afford to keep giving the ball away!

This really shouldn't be a hard game if we can only play with a bit of control.

They are not going to just give up and are guaranteed to score again at this rate

Many times this season I've felt we were playing well despite being behind/drawing the game, this time the opposite is true. We are playing poorly despite leading. Our defending is terrible. Defenders are having pretty poor games and they are passing through our midfield with ease. One of Iwobi/Wilson/Chukwueze/Raul needs to come of for Lukic (or even Reed/TC). This just doesn't seem to be working at all. They are carving us open with ease. If it weren't for Leno we'd be in deep trouble.

Amazing what we're actually capable of when we have quick wingers and break at pace, mistifying why we didn't do it for the first dozen or so games. Amazing to see Chucky and Jedi absolutely bombing down the left wing

I agree yet I was really pleased Chuk didn't play it to Robinson because that is what we always do. He switched it up and it led to a goal.

Nearly a copy cat goal of Tete's against Spuds.

None of our back 4 were anything better than a 4/10 and neither Bassey nor Robinson were even that.
Berge struggled to impose himself on the midfield and Lukic added nothing after he came on.
The King experiment failed but fair enough for trying it.
Iwobi had a stinker too.
Plaudits to Wilson, Leno and Chuck.
Not sure why we didn't see Kevin, I think he could have been a real threat up against the Burnley defence.

We played as if we had the weight of that record on our shoulders!

I suppose that the idea is that if he gets a lucky break then he is quick away. Marco did this with the Leeds fella James

Jesus! Three points but how painful was that!

Why am I still moaning, because despite Burnley never giving up they were as poor as any PL team I've ever seen.

We made it such a struggle but if I try to be positive we lowered our performance to their level and still won. On another day, against better opposition we raise our game and play better.

In an hour I'll just be happy we won!  ::wine::

Covered in cheese paste!

Hard to forget Felix Magath and his theory about curing injuries with cheese.

Lucky to win that but big thanks to Leno and Wilson.

Until Silva gave us no attack and let them back in!
