It appears Marco's aim is to secure a draw with this lineup. FFS!

He'll start fouling after we first concede. Hard to say when that will be though.

We always seem to knock it about at the back, only for someone to hoof it upfield anyway. It's been like this for a while but the tactics haven't been adjusted.
Title: Re: Bournemouth (A) Friday 03/10
Post by: Deeping_white on October 03, 2025, 08:08:00 PM
Not really sure what we're doing tactics wise here. Looks like the CB's have been told to pump it long over the top, which ironically would've been better for Adama...

No out ball. Can't get out of our own half. Team selection far too negative. System not working at all. We cannot play without a target man.

Matter of time before Bournemouth score

Post by: Twig on October 03, 2025, 08:09:09 PM
We can't play out from the back, our long balls tend to just come back and our ball retention is poor. So far so good.

Playing Wilson in a front 3 is just nonsense when you need those players to be able to retain possession.

Him and Castagne on the right just means we're never going to be able to do anything on that side of the pitch.

We do not play fast enough to warrant continually trying to play out from the back. We lose the ball about 70% of the time. The other 30% we end up panicking and just hoofing it up to no one.

That goal kick sums it up, play it to the CB and keeper under pressure, and then to Diop who is like Bambi with the ball at his feet and he chips it out for a throw. Is this really what we spent all week planning?

Fulham are without key attacking players Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez.

The team has shown a tendency to lose games from winning positions, having lost more such games than any other team in the last two seasons.

Harry Wilson is nowhere near good enough. Great super sub, has an eye for goal, but too small too slow and not technically gifted enough to be a regular EPL starter. Move Iwobi to the right and bring on Kevin.

One thing I notice about Bournemouth, they underperform when they are favorite to win. They are more dangerous when they are the underdog, especially against top tier teams.

Hopefully, Fulham can put Bournemouth to sleep and steal a point today.

For the bemoaning of the sub, TC has changed this game 100%. Looks the only player in either team comfortable with the ball in these conditions. Just need someone as a focal point for King & Iwobi to play off. I reckon maybe Chuku/Kevin for Iwobi as well in the second half, you have to take Wilson out for JKA or Chuku at the bare minimum

Title: Re: Bournemouth (A) Friday 03/10

Wilson has been poor. Given the ball away too often with misplaced passes. The game is passing him by. Maybe the conditions, if it is then it ain't gonna get better! On the other hand, we have looked like a much better team since TC came on. I've not always been a fan recently but he has linked the attack and given us a steadier approach. I know he's not the quickest either over the ground or in moving the ball on, but his approach is just what we needed tonight in these conditions.

Well Tony Khan.... Look at what's happened now and why we didn't sign players earlier....

I hope you now see the problems we have thanks to your incompetence.

Quote from: Deeping_white on October 03, 2025, 09:54:54 PMI think the relegation talk is a tad premature lol. Silva definitely needs to take a look in the mirror though because tactically we've been off it too long in too many games

We aren't getting relegated. People who say that are out of their minds.

The promoted teams are much better this season. The team has a massive mentality issue to adversity. We generally come out from half time half asleep.

Marco seems to pick teams to make a point to the board. Plus he constantly picks his favourites despite them being in poor form.

His refusal to play a striker or even bring him on while losing is just shocking

As a third goes in

Who gives a toss if we lose 2-1 or 3-1 with one minute left to go
Would you have preferred if we sat back and ended the game at 2-1?

Doesn't change the truth of the statement.
Its frustrating to lose but was always gonna be tough without both starting strikers

Beaten by two top quality goals that had us scrambling and beaten on break at the end

On we move

We are mentally weak and have massive issues in central midfield. We 💯 are in the relegation mix we can't keep a clean sheet midfield.

I know this is a controversial point in this day and age, but people are allowed to have different opinions to you that you might not agree with.

That game could have gone either way. Discount the third - it was poo or bust by then. All three goals in the game were excellent finishes but they had the breaks. We weren't outplayed despite our injury problems. I understand the disappointment but there's no call for some of the over-reactions. If Tc's shot had gone in. (and it was very close) we would have come away with an honourable draw, because we wouldn't have been pushing forward so much and they would have been more defensively minded.

There is a really good way, to win games  when  you go 1 up. It's called scoring another goal. Marco, go read the Book of Alex
