Title: Tottenham apply for public funding
Post by: epsomraver on July 03, 2011, 11:09:48 AM
How can we have a system that allows a business because that is what they are, paying obscene wages, to claim public money to develop their ground ?http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13998365.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13998365.stm)

It's seems crazy doesn't it?    A chance to create, say, another 5 jobs in the borough for £80,000 p/w wage earners ..,...with their accounts in the Cayman Islands or somewhere.....

There's a similar discussion going on in High Wycombe, where public funds are being sought to raise a larger stadium for Wycombe Wanderers and Wasps.

Happens all the time here in The States.  In fact, it is the rule rather than the exception over here.

The biggest difference is that you do not have to deal with a bunch of pompous bar stewards and an evil boat club in the US.
