Title: Out of contract players accross Europe
Post by: NorthernWhite on September 01, 2011, 01:41:21 PM
Had a look on Google and could only find premier league players from June, does anyone have a list?

I wonder if there are any decent players still not signed up that could be available before we submit our list to the FA?

If James Mcfadden has not found a team yet he's more than useful.

We'll be submitting less than 25 names so could add to that if we signed someone out of contract.

Villa did that with Pires.

Seconded, always thought he was a useful player, would be particularly handy to have in the squad with our added Europa games.

Vicente is still available on a free.

Rumours were Poyet had convinced him to sign on at Brighton but a deal hasn't been done yet.

That's a very, very good shout actually. I thought he'd signed for them. If you can keep him fit, you've got an excellent player on your hands. I wonder if Jol is looking at him as we've got one of the best medical teams in the league?

Elia confirmed today as well that we had definite interest in him so Jol was obviously looking at another winger.

He's only just turned, but has had a pretty torrid time with injuries.

But like you say, keep him fit and you've a real player. And I'm sure he'd like a stab at the Premier League.

Low wages with appearance and performance related bonuses I say!

Lasana Diarra is it?  Is he an attacking mid or more defensive?

Mahmadou Diarra, more of a defensive midfielder. On par with Big Dick 8-2 hu

But having played for Lyon (152 apps) & Real Madrid (122 apps) I'd say of a much higher quality.

9 apps for Monaco last season and didn't exactly set the world alight, so not neccessarily of a much higher quality, but still he is decent player on a freebie and we have been linked with him.

He only joined at the end of January.

And even so, given the clubs he's been at historically and the careers he's had at those clubs (he certainly wasn't a bit part player at either Lyon or Real Madrid) and comparing that with our very own Etuhu I'd certianly put my money on Diarra being a much better player.

From the BBC Sportsday Feed today...

1523 FOOTBALL: Brighton have signed former Spain midfielder Vicente Rodriguez. The 30-year-old, who won 38 international caps, picked up two La Liga titles and the 2004 Uefa Cup at Valencia, before leaving the club in the summer.
