If you suddenly developed extraordinary musical talent what artist\band would you start a tribute act to and what would they be called?
It would be a tribute band for The Tim and Bob Show.
I would call it the Bob and Tim Show and Tell
It would be a Specials tribute band called....
The Not so Special...SPECIALS!
mad hatter - Tom Petty
Tenacious D.
It wouldnt be the best live band in the world-it would just be a tribute.

Like what youve done there...
I'm thinking of starting a tribute band for Fulham's favourite punk rockers - Emergency Bitter.
It's going to be called Emergency Bitter Shandy. Musical ability is not necessarily a requirement, as EB can confirm.
The best 3 musician in the world are Peart. Lee and Lifeson :Haynes The Maestro: Also known as RUSH,
but my British version would be called THRUSH.
By the way, Im already in a Foo Fighters cover band (Bass), We're called the Poo Lighters.

I would have said Nirvana/Foo Fighters but given VB has "been there done that", I'll say Stone Temple Pilots, just wish they had a few more songs.
I don't like tribute bands, in the same way I don't like people doing covers that are almost identical - yet not half as good - as the original. For those reasons I'd start a covers band but we'd cover songs that were absolutely dreadful first time round and really punk/rock/f**k them up. Respectable by Mel and Kim is a song I've always felt could be done with a really nasty edge, for instance.
Darklands we might be called, for no reason other than it's an amazing album.
Here's one we didn't do but I think this makes the point quite nicely:
Lords of the new church like a virgin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNUteXmBiG8#)
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, and the band would be called Martin Jol's Manoeuvres In The Dark :58:
