Title: A Fulham Anthem? Part CCLVXI
Post by: LBNo11 on March 12, 2010, 02:16:41 PM
...White Noise's post on Fulham fans who are/have been singers reminded me that Ralph McTell who wrote the evocative song 'Streets of London' was/is a Fulham supporter.

I would like to see Fulham have a more varied repetoire of songs, and what better than one based on a tune from one of our own.

Obviously for it to be sung it has to be simple lyrics that mean something, and not too long - here's my attempt:-

STREETS OF LONDON

So now let us tell you - we're Fu-uul-ham
You can stick your flag where the sun don't shine
Let me take you by the Thames - to the oldest club in London
I'll show you something to make you change your mind

Can you improve on it, or come up with another song based on the same tune - or any other Fulham singers tunes..?

...How about a pastiche of the first verse followed by your chorus twice LB......?

Did you see the Fulham
When we were down market?
Laughed at in the papers
Any one you'd choose?
Now we raise our flag with pride
Now we're a match for any side
Bad times are for yesterday; with Hodgson we can't lose!
