Is this current song referring to the Streets one or Springsteens? I think I've muddled myself... all these Hip Hop bands and their bloomin' sampling of songs.

The Streets song is not anything to do with Spingsteen, just happen to have the line "blinded by the light" in them

Ya, I think I was 21 before I figured out that it was "deuce" and not "douche" in the song. Thank you Manfred Mann for your poor enunciation.

ya like it was an accident... who wraps a deuce? Well deuce raps but... oh never mind.
actually, what Bruce was saying was "revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night."
"deuce" being 1932 Ford coupe [body of choice for street hot-rods from 1950s-80s].
and "revved up" being well, you know.
Because of the confusion -- thanks Mr. d'Abo -- Bruce has been singing "cut loose like a deuce" recently.
oh, and I like the song, guys.

Believe so.....on the same LP (Oops, showing my age) dedicated to hot rodding, there's also the "Ballad of Ol' Betsy" ..whose lyrics start "She was born in '32...." *
*according to my memory...I ain't Googled it yet!
on a side note have you ever heard the song little nash rambler? or something like that... I remember my dad putting that on the radio when we used to go out for a drive... beep beep, beep beep his horn went beep beep beep... always made me giggle.
