I've now seen everything!
BBC News - 'Dog wash' machine gets a spin in Japan (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8571591.stm#id8570000/8571500/8571591)
That poor little dog looked absolutely traumatised afterwards...
...disturbing, I think a cat would go ballistic - well my moggy Tigana (Tiggy) would!
Mind you after seeing how they make Welch's purple grape juice by blending Japanese acrobats it doesn't surprise me...

The BBC are a little behind the times, methinks. We have had these in the US for the past 5 years. My old vets used to have one, though I would never consider putting any of my dogs in there!! If you cannot be bothered to wash the dog yourself, shouldn't be bothered to buy one to start with.
Here's a report of one in France last year http://www.geeksaresexy.net/2009/05/19/introducing-the-dog-o-matic-an-automated-washing-machine-for-dogs/ (http://www.geeksaresexy.net/2009/05/19/introducing-the-dog-o-matic-an-automated-washing-machine-for-dogs/)
I thought it might have been LG's new microwave until the water started flowing.
