He didn't want to sign for us in January, cause he waited for AC Milan offer to come. When they approached him, he signed immediately for them. So now I wouldn't like him at our squad. He wanted big famous, rich, fancy club over our little treasure - he don't deserve us, really.

There's no logic whatsoever in that.

In fairness who would turn down Milan?

Hopefully Dempsey and Dembele, if they came in for either of them...   Get Coat gif

But agreed, Milan had to be higher on the radar than Fulham for Maxi.

I wish everybody would stop going on about "he didn't want to join in January" business, I would chose AC Milan over Fulham any day! it doesn't mean he didn't want to join us I think he just wanted more money and to play top end Football and I don't blame him.

Deal or No Deal?

I am going for Deal.

Lopez would be a good addition.

Can you really blame him for wanting to go to Milan? A shot at the big time and remains in his current country of Italy?

I dont get the impression he is too big for his boots, he was playing 100% for Catania earlier in the season.

Would prefer a younger striker who could either stick with us for years or be sold on for a tidy profit afterwards.

Just come across this on ESPNSTAR.com :

Maxi Lopez open to Fiorentina move

Catania striker Maxi Lopez has admitted he would be happy to join fellow Serie A side Fiorentina.

By ESPNSTAR.com staff

Lopez spent the second half of the past season on loan to AC Milan and scored two goals in ten appearances in all competition for the Rossoneri.

However, with Antonio Cassano successfully recovering from heart surgery, Milan decided not to exercise a clause to sign the Argentinean on a permanent basis, and it now appears Fiorentina could be the next stop for Lopez.

"Right now there's nothing but rumours, but Fiorentina is definitely a great club and it could be a great chance for me," he told Radio Blu.

"I've visited Firenze with my family, spent a few days there and loved the city."

The 28-year-old also quashed rumours he had problems with Catania coach Vincenzo Montella, who has recently been linked to taking over the vacant managerial seat at Roma.

"It is true I didn't play as much as I would have liked when Montella was my coach at Catania, but we never had any problems," Lopez added.

"I wouldn't have any trouble working with him again, we get along very well."

Tuttosport reported on Thursday that newly-promoted Torino are also in the hunt to sign the much-travelled Argentinean, who has previously played for River Plate, Barcelona, Real Mallorca , FC Moscow and Gremio.

I'm with Montenegro on this, i dont want anyone who see's us as a second choice, like he's doing us a favor. From what i rember from Jan, he's hardly setting the World alight anyhow. Younger, better cheaper , less wages and someone thinking he owes us for signing him please. Hungry with something to prove rather than someone who thinks he's a superstar but the stats dont back that up.

If he's earning his wage for us, I don't care where he wanted to be prior.

Nobody seems all too disappointed with the elder Riise after he jilted us for 'pool. Why should Lopez be seen as different? Just fewer clubs and less time between the "Thanks. But no thanks." and actually playing for us......if he signs.

He chose Milan, one of the biggest clubs in the world, over us, a 8-12 placed Premier League team. Why would that mean Maxi automatically thinks he'll do Fulham a favour by coming here?

I know AC Milan signed him, but funny things happen in Italian football - is he any good? He seems to move around a lot.
