To let murphy go is a big mistake and a dreadful way for him to be treated.AJ couldn't stay fit at any point.

Is it officially released or just contract come to an end?

If it's the latter it doesn't mean we aren't in talks to extend, just that the contract itself is up; quite different. They've been free to speak to other clubs for 6 months.

Expected Pog to be signed up.

AJ was a cert to go and no surprise about Riise jnr and to be honest from seeing some of Murphy's wife's tweets I'm not that surprised he's gone either.

Not saying it's the right decision to let him go and would have like to see him stay on one more season with a coaching role. Poor treatment by the club in my opinion. Has been a great player for us and a loyal servant. Will always remember him for his header at Pompey that kept us up!

Still I will await the official confirmation from the club first. But those are my initial thoughts.

disgusted with murphy being released. So what if he did not have the legs to play every game. The only player on the pitch who barked orders and set up some nice plays....i hope to god we have a sublime player coming in as apart from sidders and diarra we have no one...(im predicting dembele and dickson to be sold) kasami and gecov are not there yet

and i predict brede for captain???

Fulhamfc.com: First with the news.

Expected AJ + Riise to be off.  Murphy and Pog a surprise, although obviously had been mooted.  Be interesting to see who the club have lined up as replacements.  I'm assuming replacements are in the pipeline simply because not to have done so would be gross incompetence and that's something you can't accuse the Board of over the last few seasons.

So long to all, and thanks for your efforts lads.  Have some good memories of all of them in the black and white.

Just cannot believe the news about our great captain.  Age aside he made a huge contribution last season and to the end we just did not look the same team without him.  I'm really shocked and so sorry to see him just cast aside like this. Not greatly surprised about the other three however. Though if the team loses the goals contributed last season by Deuce Dempsey, the Pog, Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora it doesn't leave a great deal does it?

Lazy journalism surely? Contracts doesn't even end until the 30th of June, and I very much doubt Fulham would be letting the Pog and Murphy go with at least a month left to get to terms with them.

I'm now taking this news with a big pinch of salt as some player on that list haven't been released i.e. Paul Scholes.

So I guess we will see when the official announcement is made by the club.

Not all contracts run to end of June - just most,

Its an official list of free agents.

If they are a free agent and no longer under contract to the club then surely they are no longer FFC in any respect?

Pretty sure clubs can retain players out of contract players unless they choose to leave or the club release them.

How about we all wait until the club officially announces who has left the club?

Is that not usually the best procedure - 'its not official until on the ffc website'

Released or available is two different things. This list has a lot of players who are available because the FA's redtape says so. But Scholes is on it for a start and he's been offered/signed a one year extension.
Anyway Rodellaga and Guthrie would be two tidy pickups.

Out of contract means no wages, but presumably they all have enough in the bank to feed the kids for a while. Can only hope, in the Murphy case anyway, it's just that everyone's still on holiday. Any resolution will presumably be soon if it all.

I think it's a list of players whose contracts will be up this summer, not a list of released free agents (ie the club has declined the oportunity to extend the contract or the player has rejected the final contract offer from the club). Why else would the likes of Jääskeläinen, who Bolton wants to keep, and Scholes, who has actually already signed an one-year-extension, be on that list?

In other words, this list reveals nothing new. Just what we've all known for some time, that the mentioned players contracts will be up this summer unless new deals are struck.

I thought her message might be to do with Simon Peach's tweet saying negotiations were ongoing, meaning they weren't but she confirmed it was to do with premature stories saying he's off.

It's not definate one way or the other if he's staying or going but it does appear he's still negotiating with the club and she's well aware that people don't want him to leave.

I think the Pog will sign for us before the Euro's and hopefully the club will see sense and ensure Danny is with us for another year. I think after that he'd be happy to start coaching and I hope that role is also with us.

Even if the Pog does sign, that really means we only have him and Sa so I think we need another 2 strikers on the books.

Please people , don't act like Lemmings , one person spouts something , no one checks and everybody follws them over the Cliff.

Sky have a list which they title 'Players Released' BBC have the same List and title it 'Players out of Contract'.The Sky article has some narrative before the 'Released list' in which it states ;

''It is understood that Fulham are still in talks with Danny Murphy and Pavel Pogrebnyak about extended stays with talks on-going and offers made to the key duo.But the Cottagers are not in discussions with striker Andrew Johnson, midfielder Bjorn Helge Riise or defender Zdenek Grygera about new deals, and they are set to leave Craven Cottage''

So stop all the wailing and accusations aimed at the Fulham board, it is the same situation as it was at the end of the season other than Grygera who was to prove his fitness which looks like he may have suffered a setback in his recovery. I'm sure both players and their agents are trying to iron out the best deal they can and Fulham are doing likewise.I'd expect no less from either party
