Title: Anyone watching Spain v Italy tonight?
Post by: Burt on July 01, 2012, 05:24:05 PM
Not sure I could be bothered...

I reckon Italy could cause a minor upset by nicking it. The two players I have enjoyed watching the most have been Pirlo and Balotelli.

Yeah, I'll be watching.  There's nowt else on anyway and I've got a lot of work on lately so would have gone mad without the Euro football fix.  God knows what I'm going to do for the four weeks between now and the Wycombe game!

Italy are a funny team, they seem to mirror their opponents.  So tonight has the potential te be a great game or a slow cautious one, depending on how Spain approach the game

I got Spain in the office sweepstake, so I should watch it to see how much I'll win. However, I'll actually watch it to see if Italy can batter them and teach them that pretty passing football is fine, provided that you actually have a shot occasionally too.

I'm definitely watching this match. Hey its the finals and you have the 100# Gorilla facing the team that just barely got though. Should be interesting to see how Spain is able to move the ball around while Italy defends and soaks up the pressure. It will once again be match pitting 'possession' against 'defend and counter'. I like Italy's chances to win this one.

A takeaway pizza always livens something up. I'm really hoping the game won't be like Spain - Portugal.

I will be watching and just need to decide if its that p**** Adrian Chiles on ITV or Gary Lineker and his golf buddys on BBC.

Never know maybe Roy Keane will finally get fed up of Chiles and chuck him off the balcony studio on to cobbles to be stamped on by passing Poles.

I think it will be BBC in the end with their so called experts.

I will be pulling for the Italians. I didn't really expect them to get past Germany, but they bullied the Germans around for most of the match. Wouldn't surprise to awfully much if they do the same to the Spaniards.
With that being said, I still feel Spain will win by a one goal margin in full time.

Of course, but I probably will not enjoy one minute of it.

I know he was offside...but how the hell did Pedro miss that?

BBC Commentator: "Pedro's blushes are spared"

Well not really mate.  He had his back to the lino and the goal at his mercy...

Still, Spain can be as wasteful as they want I guess

Torres with the third.

Italy are getting stuffed.

Just as well we didn't make the final!

That's 4.  They now hold the record for the biggest win in a Euro final

Amazing performance, four quality goals, well deserved.

So many finals fail to deliver but this was an awesome performance. The only way it could have been improved was if Italy were remotely competitive.

Spain really deserved to win.

Yeah well the commentators kept on about how wonderful it all was and not boring to watch. But if we all start playing without forwards and passing, passing, passing with few shots on goal then it would be a very dull 90 minutes. I still prefer the good old fashioned Brazil side of the Seventies.

Slept through it (as predicted) after 6 pints at my sons presentation day, a 40 min dads v coaches day, another 3 beers and a fat Chinese.
Gutted! But as i say, it was predicted this morning so at least it wasn't a suprise!!
 Did I miss much?
There's not even any bloody highlights on!!

And so the clamour begins. All teams should play like spain. Well no thanks. Of course all footballers should be able to pass the ball. But give me cut and thrust any day. If we all play like Spain it will be like men's tennis at Wimbledon. Once an exciting spectacle of serve and volley.  . .  Exciting stuff. Now a pale imitation full of safety shots and boring baseline play.
