Anyone seen the tackle on Bale??
Judging by the comments from Bale and other Spurs players it wasn't nice.
The big question though is would we want a player like Adam in our team. I for one wouldn't. Remember Michael Brown? I seem to remember the general concensus was good riddence to bad rubbish when he left.
We have a proud record for fair play on and off the pitch. That is what makes our club special and I would rather keep it that way.
I dont really want to see Adam here for the reasons you outline and others.
But in this instance, Bale getting injured after dropping out of Team GB 'due to injury' yet still playing a full pre-season is rather amusing.
As much as I am loathe to defend Tottenham, playing in an Olympic Tournement and a pre season fitness tour are hardly the same thing and they were right to not let him play for Team GB.
Another in a line of poor challenges by Adam....coward's tackle as Bale says.
Snarling nasty piece of work and wouldn't want him anywhere near my club.
Adam is no more of a thug than our own Sidwell, so I really don't see the problem to be honest.

Why were they right? The Olympics is a major sporting event.
It really wasn't a very bad tackle, just nicked the inside of his heel with his studs. No force involved.
Charlie Adam is a fine player with a professional approach to the game. get a grip people S001.gif. Check his disciplinary record, it isn't bad.
Wasn't even that bad
the tackle when playing for blackpool was much worse. He clearly went for bales ankle the thug. I hate adam, looked good in a crap team and has been found out when playing with better players.

Because the Olympics is a major sporting event and Spurs' pre season tour is just a fitness exercise?
goto 1.07 better view, ps paul scholes does this a lot and gets away with it.
adams is ok by me.

poorly timed, but I dont think it looked like he tried to injure Bale. I thought Adam was a very good player for Blackpool, as well as a fans favorite. Could do really well here at Fulham. :010:

It was nothing. Bale is a whiner (and as thick as treacle). It wasn't even a proper tackle, reached in when he had little chance of getting the ball and caught him. It happens many times in every match. It's football.
Why are we discussing Adam, he does not (and is unlikely to) play for Fulham.

Agreed. I saw the tackle and it was out of order, but Adam isn't a serial offender, and he certainly isn't Michael Brown. Adam is a quality footballer with many arrows in his quiver.
The sainted Danny has picked up a number of red cards over the years. The tackle in Donesk was bad and with intent. Would I have thrown Danny out of FFC? No. For the same reason I'd accept Adam for his footballing ability as I do not see him as a Storey, Hurlock, Brown thug. None of whom I was comfortable watching in a FFC shirt

Totally agree with first part. Footballer trips footballer - sensation. (With the modern essential result that the tripee rolls around hystionically clutching his head. Why do they always clutch their head?)
I thought Adams got more attention than he warrented as a decentish player in a poor Blackpool side that happened to be the media's flavour of the month. Didn't see anything last season to change my mind.
I make tackles like this everytime I play; it's a foul, no more. Get on with it.
Tactical fouls don't merit an outcry like this.
It's only Spurs.

You'd probably be cheaper than Charlie Adam, too. (I'm only guessing here, mind. No inside info.)

I'd be a free transfer, but I'd expect a decent signing on fee. Let's call it £30K a week?
Such a big deal being made out of nothing.
It is just me, or do others on this site think that Bale is a whiny spoiled little bitch?

Seems I'm in the minority...heh ho...still looks an unrequired tackle to me...rivals giggs in the stakes of trying to influence the referee too...wrongun I reckon.
much ado about nothing it looks like to me
Thanks to TheDon for posting the clip. 1st time i've seen it and have to agree it s not the worst foul i've ever seen but I still feel Adam is over-rated. I suspect I'm basing this on the only time I saw him play against us in the home game against Blackpool. Just left a sour taste.
Only brought this up because he was mentioned as part of a swap for Demps.
Well it looks like a foul to me, but a yellow card? Mr Bale must write 100 times:
"I must learn to act better!"
