Title: Walton Casuals V Fulham XI Sunday 12th 2012.. 1pm
Post by: mr-ska on August 09, 2012, 09:17:58 PM
A Fulham XI will be visiting Walton Casuals at the Waterside this Sunday 12th August, kick off is 1pm. Admission prices will be £8 Adults and £5 concessions.

Waterside Stadium
Waterside Drive
Walton on Thames
Surrey
KT12 2JP

Tel:             01932 781070       (Office) or             01932 787749       (Clubhouse)

Walton Casuals Chairman is Tony Gale and Ray Lewington's son Craig is their captain...there are sure to be a lot of old faces down there and it is the last chance to see some Fulham action before the visit of Norwich.

Added to the mix the sponsor of Walton Casuals is a massive Fulham supporter who many people will know (he done all 10 aways on our momentous Europa League adventure)....added to the above my mate Manages Walton Casuals and the weather is going to be brilliant!

Be great to see a turnout. (invite from Travers Barney)

Thanks a lot Mr Ska....quite a few going from Motspur Park....I'll post out more details as I hear it...Mick Sullivan the Casuals Manager tends to leave his team sheet on his desk so I'll publish their line up tomorrow!!!!

Should be a cracking day out in the sun watching (hopefully) some stars of tomorrow.

...yes, the guv'nor's a Fulham fan, on away days it is usually full of Fulham fans and the staff wear Fulham tops - even the filth supporting barman has to..!

Not sure where that is in location to the ground mate but others may know...I think that there is a pub not too far away...they have a new clubhouse since we played them a couple of years back when dear old Johnny Morris was their manager....I'm sure we'll get a warm welcome in there.

...The Weir pub at the end of the lane is right on the riverside, a nice pub with really good food, just head for the Elmbridge Xcel Leisure centre, go down Waterside Drive - turn right and go until you can't go any further for the pub (hard to get parked there as it is very popular). Not sure what the parking is like at the Walton ground though...

...just spoken to S1, he has fishing already planned (reeds cleared, bed churned up and baited - this means something to fishermen apparently) so it is unlikely he'll make an appearance - but you never know...

That's a pity....just got a glimpse of the Walton Casuals line up on a old fag packet but Mick quickly retrieved if from eyeshot....pretty sure that our old Motspur Park keeper Gareth Williams will between the sticks for them!

Apparently they are opening a new bar at their ground tomorrow (open from 11) and there will be hot and cold food available.

Additionally they will be screening the charity shield/other london team friendlies afterwards.

And its gonna be hot.

I thought Dan Burn looked good, very very tall. He must answer to Dan-ger-land
Minkiwitz looks like he has something, as people have said similar to Murphy, he should make the grade
These are the only two who looked ready
Trotta has all the ball conrtol of a eunuch
Kasami was trying too hard
Penkiket lood useful when he came on but not first team yet
Grygera didn't have a lot to do but what he did in the first half looked assured
Ryan Williams should progress

Dan Burn - the lad from Darlington, a very tall defender who plays with the assured style of a certain tall Norwegian player.

(http://www.fulhamfc.com/CachedImage.axd?ImageName=%2fMatchAndTeam%2fPlayerProfiles%2fProfileImages%2fMain%2fRonnieMinkwitz%2fRonnie6.jpg&ImageWidth=631&ImageHeight=325)

Ronnie Minkwitz -a midfielder who as sunburywhite points out in the Danny Murphy mould.

(http://www.fulhamfc.com/CachedImage.axd?ImageName=%2fMatchAndTeam%2fPlayerProfiles%2fProfileImages%2fMain%2fRyanWilliams%2fWilliams1.jpg&ImageWidth=631&ImageHeight=325)

Ryan Williams - a useful right winger

Richard Peniket - a left sided midfielder, finds space and actually passes the ball to other players in his own side (usually)

'Dave' took his goal well but squandered a host of chances, but the biggest worry was Pajtim Kasami, poor decision making, passing awful - unless he intended to pass to the opposition, and shooting when a pass to players in a better position would have been easier and more productive.

The lads pictured made the best impression for me but I think I hoped for a sign of being relaxed and in control against lower league amateurs; Walton Casuals played well it has to be said, but we spent more time passing back and sideways than going forwards and when we were in possession too many white shirted players playing statues, no movement off the ball.

Consolations for a very average performance being a nice sunny day, a good turn out of FoF members, a nice club house and bar and the first time I have seen the new home kit - looks good...

Fair summary LB my thoughts...seen Burn perform better...smith is good shame he went off....banya was neat and tidy....kasami was appalling.

Disappointed with us today on the field but we had a great day down at the casuals.

A most enjoyable afternoon/early evening!!

I seem to remember that there was a game of football played!!

Barney and myself spent a nice afternoon/evening (??!!) in the Casuals bar having one or two glasses of pop, of which quite a few were bought by Tony Gale, who was very appreciative of the turn out by the Fulham faithful!!

A disappointing game, but given that it was played at the hottest part of the day wasn't a surprise!! We were told that Kasami was made to play the whole 90 mins as he had been so poor in the first half!!
