Title: NFR - lyric quiz
Post by: WhiteJC on January 28, 2010, 12:28:34 PM
I think this is quite hard.
Here are a couple of lines from 10 songs, two songs each from the 1950's, 60', 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's
each song was a 'hit' in the UK, I'm assuming that most were also hits in the US

PM me with your song titles, good luck...

1950's
1)
It's rhythm that "gets you" heart and soul
Let me tell you baby, it's called rock an' roll

2)
Try an enchilada with da fish a bac a lab and then a
Hey goombah, I love a how you dance a rhumba

1960's
1)
You saw me kissin' your sister, you saw me holdin' her hand
But if you snitch to your mother, your father won't understand

2)
She said that living with me
Is bringing her down yeah

1970's
1)
But if you love him you'll forgive him,
even though he's hard to understand

2)
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain

1980's
1)
That people are the same wherever you go
There is good and bad in everyone

2)
Dancing around you feel the sweet sensation
We might be lovers of the rhythm's right

1990's
1)
I, sometimes I lose myself in me,
I lose track of time

2)
I see you, the only one who knew me
But now your eyes see through me

2000's
1)
Started a diet, got a manicure
Erased your number from the telephone

2)
My dad's probably had a bloody hard day
But he's been good fun and bubblin and jokin' away

I've had a couple of replies both got 100% however, one reply only answered 50% of the questions  ;D

I will have to cheat and look up the newer ones. Well some of them. Sadly singing to myself gave me a few answers of the oldies.

Wow! I managed to get two and cheated on the rest. The two that I got were from the 50s and 60s - I'm only 33!
