I would bring Kasami, Frei and Briggs into the 18 man squad next week. If we had another striker who was young and scored goals I would bring them in as well.....oh wait we do have but have loaned him out.
I have had enough of the dad's army strollers we have in the team.
Give youth a chance.

Now I await the response that when your in trouble, youth should not play. But what do you do if its the olders pros who have got you in trouble?

Yes, he has been here long enough to get a run in the team to show his worth. Its that bad at the moment he could be exposed and made to look bad but it can't be worse than whats been going on for weeks.

We don't know why he's not being picked but Jol must have reasons.

It's no solution simply to demand that those players that Jol regards as back ups should replace the regulars.

We cant demand anything, but we can make our views known, which as we know no one will take a blind bit of notice about.

I dont think anyone says he's the answer, but are the XI plus subs today the answer?
I say that there are players not getting a chance who given the bad long run we are on deserve a chance to show what they can do.

That's ridiculous. It can't get no worse and sometimes young players just need the confidence. When they see "hey, I get some games", then they will eventually flourish. Kasami is immensely talented and I don't care about Jol's reasons and his current form, just throw him it. The late John Lennon used to sing "It can't get no worse!" - and that's exactly the case at the moment. We're utter shite without Ruiz. And if there's a player in this oldie squad to replace him, then that's bloody Pajtim Kasami.

It's not just down to one player, though, is it?

Kasami won't make any difference. Why do we play flowing football one week, then as if we lack any conviction or confidence, and like a team of strangers the next?

Kasami has been shagging Jol's pet poodle so will not get picked

It's down to his policy. He just refuses to give youngsters a chance when it's required. Yeah, Kaca, Frei....but they hardly featured so far this season. A bit ridiculous to go on about his youth policy and that stuff and not act like that.

Kasami  hasn't been playing as in Jols eyes, and mine, he's not good enough, it's so easy to say bring this player in or that Ayer in when we lose, but the reality he's a not of a headless chicken, we had better players than him on the bench today that should of been starting .
As for sending our young players out on loan, what's wrong with that, let them go on Liam and make their mistakes at someone else cost and come back to us as a better player

Yes, I agree. We desperately need creativity.

Against Norwich, Kasami showed that he can create. It's not as if we have many other options. He's likely to improve with experience so why not try him?

How is he not good enough in your eyes?  He's barely played!!  Had he gone on a 8 match run where he performed terribly yet still played, then fair enough, but he just isn't getting the minutes for the fans to develop a real opinion of his play.

Kasami is the most Ruiz-esque player we have, Ruiz is injured and Kasami isn't getting anywhere near the starting eleven.

Doesn't add up, something isn't quite right. Last season he was on the bench at least and had a few appearances at the beginning of the season, after the Chelsea League Cup game he just hasn't featured.

I am usually on board with Jol not playing Kasami.  I'm not sure his head is screwed on straight, and I trust in Jol to run the team the way he wants.

But today, I would have liked to see him as a late sub.  We desperately needed somebody who would suicidally run straight at the goal, just to see what would happen.  Kasami seems to be that sort of player.

Besides, what would we have to lose?

I'm probably going to write something on my crummy little soccer blog about Kasami, Taraabt, and the "Irrational Confidence Guy" idea that Bill Simmons talks about in the NBA.  We needed an irrational confidence guy late in this match.

I've seen him in first team games AND reserves, never over impressed me, he's like a bull in a china shop, if he's our answer then god help us

Absolutely agree. I too have seen plenty of Kasami. I'm not sure what other people have missed. No where near good enough.

I never said I like Richardson either, I'm a big fan of Kaca and personally would of played him today even though he had a bad game against the Toon.

It's so easy when a player  isn't playing well to say lets get X in to replace him without really having seen enough of X player, Stockdale is a prime example, Schwarzer has a bad spell and all of a sudden Stockdale is a better keeper, one minute we are brilliant under Jol, next were crap and he has to go, think the word is fickle

everyone says bring in players when they are out. Davies is one who has been mentioned this week as well.
I support giving Kasami/Kaca/Frei even Briggs a run in the team. It seems they only are allowed one off game and they are dropped while others play game after game. Some players thrive in first team action more than playing reserve football.
Schwarzer has been going downhill for a while, I think a lot of us are blinded by loyalty to what he has done in the past. Stockdale has had two spells in the team and I don't believe he let us down.

Oh please PLEASE stop that. Kasami has actually shown that he can impress at the highest level, had played more than 25 matches for Palermo in Serie A, hence Jol signed him.

So stop going on about how crap he is. Doesn't add up, you know?

Bull in a china shop might have been better than the timid display we saw today. I'm obviously in the minority but I've also seen him at both first and ressie games I think he could be good. Aggressive, technically capable and still a young'un.

Give him a go over the next few games and see what he's got. If he turns in some decent performances then it eases the pressure for the January window, if not then we've got the window to bring in somebody to do the job
