Title: A loss today
Post by: reillers on January 05, 2013, 12:34:09 PM
In the (hopefully) unlikely event of us not winning today how will the members of this forum react?? Will the Jol out brigade be out in force? Is this the year we really could have a crack at the cup?? :scarf:

We did crap in all of the cups last year so I'm expecting the same again this year.

we perform poorly in the cup year in year out "apart from europa league" soon as we go away for a tough game we lose...will be the same this year, I see no difference

Its all about the luck of the draw. Last year we were put out away to Chelsea in a game we should have won, and away to Everton where we never get anything

i have unwavering confidence in Jol, but yeah we will win, but i dont see us getting anywhere in the cup.

4 home draws in a row then a couple of trips to Wembley would be lovely.

The team were simply not up for it. Jol has been unable to bring the team out of the dull, boring play. After West Brom we hoped they were back to some form. Clearly not. This team is the worst for some years and Jol not capable of reacting to it.

The team can be the best we have had for years and Jol has manged to find the right tactics. Well done Fulham.

A loss would be pretty demoralizing. I'm hoping for a win and a good performance. I expect Jol to play a strong side. I'm not expecting one though, it's a cup game after all.

I think if Jol picks a nice balance if experience and youth - who want to prove themselves we could get on a nice run.

I don't really care either way as long as we get a result against Wigan next week.

We never perform particularly well in the cup.  I'm prepared for a loss today but would like to see us go on a bit of a run for a change.

I think we will win today with 3 of Blackpool's best players being out and then it's all about the draw, if we get an away game then that's the end of that!

GJ seems to think that a blatant Phillips handball was ignored to start the move Blackpool scored from.

I'm not one for knee jerking etc but every time we do the "bring Hugo on to make it two up top", we stop having chances on goal.

(Can I say that I did realize what might happen when i made that post)

Be interesting to see that on the highlights later.  Though if it's that bad I'm liable to put my foot through the TV and rant at length about the cheating FA.

Sounds like a belter from Karagounis to equalise

true....but, it feels slightly 3 weeks ago, in that we couldn't beat a Championship side at home and now we have to travel across the Island in the middle of the week to prove we are the team that beat West Brom, rather than the team who couldn't beat Southhampton and lost to Swansea.....

Happy with our attacking options? Hmmmm...

We need a clear out and some serious quality to come in.

The last time we played Blackpool in the FA Cup at Bloomfield Road?  Wasn't it around 6-7 yrs ago, before their promotion to the PL? We took a beating?

We must be the only premiership club that have not managed to beat a championship club at home in a cup match - EVER!

Well that's what you would think by some of the posts!
God knows what will happen if we lose the replay  fp.gif

Long trip to the North West in midweek Emmmmm.

Last time we were in Blackpool (hardly Fernhurst!!)
Johnny Haynes was involved in a late night car smash and never played for England again.

Not liked Blackpool since then.

Just back from the game, for 80 minutes I wish I had taken a book! we are so slow and Gerge the greek and Sidwell seem the only players really interested in trying to win this game, Jol " fast attacking football", WHEN???Every one around was moaning about the slow pace and  that we fart about with the ball, Berbatov total waste of time today , same with Mick Jagger.

I was satisfied as soon as I saw our starting XI. Jol going for it like this is all I could hope for. Losing isn't nearly as bad as not going for it.
