A lot of people called for Petric to start with Berba, tonight we'll see how that pans out. I'm sceptical, but I hope I'm wrong. Fair play to Martin for dropping Manolev and being more positive.

He has put him out wide but he will drift in. That will make Riether less effective though.

May as well give Rodallega a chance, couldn't be any worse than Petric. Alternatively Frei and put Berba up top.

Ruiz should have scored and got a penalty at the start and end of that half.  Up until Luiz's shot it was pretty even though, real shame Reither switched off at the back post for the second.
Gonna be on of them days from the looks of it... unless it turns into Arsenal earlier this year.  That'd be fun.

Petric has played himself out of a new contract for me. He's literally done nothing. Rodallega on and buy a new striker in the summer.

Ruiz has been quite good for me. Emanuelson outstanding, kara and enoh very good, berba always a threat.

Not sure how we're 2 down really.

i thought we played really well in spurts.  I like the look of enoh, emanuelson, and Karagounis.  Berba has been on the ball a lot and we should not be 2-0 down.  Ruiz was a penalty and Luiz shot was rediculous.  Nothing you can do about that.  I think he we are still in this.
Title: Re: Fulham v Chelsea match thread

Sorry but no great shock. They are playing well within themselves. We have injury to pace players and we are always slow going forward. Playing some nice football but once again have no cuting edge. Not sure Jol is even looking for a striker which is a shame.

Nice bits but no finished article.

He's a decent impact sub but on reduced terms. I'm not keen on Rodallega though. If we can get one really good striker with pace I'd be happy, I think we need it too, we're crying out for off the ball movement.

It's been really quite even apart from the score - although with both Emmanuelson and Ruiz playing wide they are both floating to the middle so, so often.  Could do with Frei on for Petric moving either/or Emmanuelson and Ruiz in the middle.

In that case I agree. Pleasing to see Berba is actually making runs and that Ruiz has discovered this new thing called getting in the box. So yes that would be my preference, Frei for Petric.

I think he just doesn't work with Berba. Only Ruiz has learnt how to fit. But I think we could do with the pace out wide, to push past Berbs & Bryan, offering something different. Urby & Frei could do the business IMO. Petric is only useful when Berba isn't about; both too slow, with Ruiz, to be useful..

At least Enoh has impressed yet again and Emanuelson had a good first half. That's about it really.

Completely agree with this. Enoh is a v.similar player to Ramires, and exactly what we need. If we could keep Urby, I would be incredibly happy; looked great.

Some performances have been ok. But poor overall play with another blunt attack. Still to be convinced by Jol but we have plenty of injury problems and a poor squad which goes back to the start of the season. Another performance that lacks consistancy.

Just wish he would have more of our young players in and around the first team(atleast have a few on the bench) and a starter now and then. But hope to see more of that next season with a few signings and having had this year as transition.

Need MAJOR changes this summer.

Out (just from todays XI):
Schwarzer- still good, but too old
Senderos- awful
Karagounis- too slow, can pick out a pass but getting on
Ruiz- never gonna make it in the premiership it seems. Very gifted player, who i'm sure will thrive in la liga
Petric- today was dreadful and sadly, he has been poor recently.

Get in emanuelson at all costs. Get riether in permanently.

This is the team i'd like to see (unlikely I admit)

Stekelenburg
Riether Amorebieta Hangeland Richardson
Enoh Fer
Dejagah Berbatov Urby
Bony

Another dismal effort on both offense and defense, Senderos typically clueless about marking the main threats at the back, Petric and Ruiz unable to p*ss in the ocean, lots of effort from The Greek, one good chance from Urby...and why was Berbatov playing behind Petric? Sure, the manager told him to, but what was he thinking?

Understood that Chels playing for something and we weren't, but a sorry performance for all the Fulham fans paying good money for those tickets. If the team's not going to show up, why not forfeit and refund the tickets? Bah.

He didn't block the free kick it hit him, and he's done plenty tonight. Played five superb through balls and should've if the ref had been half decent won us a penalty. Not too mention several good interceptions.
He was fine tonight, one of the better performers in fact.

Had a very poor game by his standards. Mind you, a poor game by his standards still involved winning a stonewall penalty and some lovely link up play with Berbatov and Emmaneulson. One of his worst games of the season, and he still looked light years ahead of Petric. Fulham looked at their best when he started playing centrally, but shunting him out wide to accomodate Petric was imho what cost us today.

Hey let's play the numbers game! Can't add wages but let's just look at transfer fees!

Chelsea subs:
£23.5m for £7m
£32m for £20m
£18m for £16m
Equaling: £116.5m

Fulham subs:
£0 for £2m
£0 for £0
£0 for £0
Equaling: £2m

Now, guess who lost 3-0!

Personal attacks for my opinion? I said it was unlikely but is it really that farfetched??

With all the money we've got over recent windows from sales (dempsey, dembele, zamora etc) throw in the wages we will have probably saved.

Then I'm saying to sell Ruiz which should get ~£8m.

Add another 10m that Al Fayed might be willing to put in, and are we far off £25m? no.

Look, I dont think this will happen and will get other cheaper options in, this is what I would like to happen. No need to disregard it so badly, just because you don't agree.
