Pick two, please explain your picks.
As brought up, these players would be in their "prime years"

I went for the very obvious Dembele and Dempsey. Although I did consider Smalling
Dempsey and Gera! (Dembele third)
Smalling by a mile followed by Dembele. The rest are either too old, past it, not good enough or injury prone. There are two who are obvious from the way they threw their toys out of the pram I would never have back.
Yep, go with Grandad.
Long time since we had a good left back. Shorey seemed ok but has faded a bit. But I would go for a left back like Shorey and then would have Dempsey back. Didn't go for Dembele because he is one of those players who should be brilliant but fails in the final pass or shot.
...I've based my poll selections on the players returning at their peak, not as they are now, if age is the criteria then Smalling and Dembele are the obvious choices...
I went for Dembele and Konchesky.
Dembele and Nevland for me, Dembele is pretty obvios but Eric was an impact striker that we now sadly lack

Agree, but Dembele as my first choice.
cant believe I missed Smalling, picked the two Dems but would easily swap Dempsey for Smalling. Could have built a really good spine with those two.
I went with Dempsey and Dembele. Gera was a close third.
As with LB11 I've gone for Gera at his peak and Smalling. Gera was special in that he always gave his all and I remember Goals out of nothing from him. Smalling was only young when he left us and I never saw much of him I saw an acomplished performance from him at centre back alongside chris Baird. I thought that he was one for the future not realising that it was not with us. but he has done well since he left and we got a good price for him and had two decent Centre halves at the time
Smalling and Dembele for me.
Closely followed by Dempsey and Murphy.
I went for Mousa Dembele and Danny Murphy.
Dembele for obvious reasons. I think we underestimated Danny's leadership qualities within the squad. Even if he couldn't offer anything on the pitch, his off the pitch skills, I feel, are vital within the squad and much like Garry Monk at Swansea, he could be that captain in the dressing room once his playing minutes had dropped. Players like that aren't easy to find.
I'll explain
Dembele: one of the most well-rounded midfielders in the division; links the defence to attack with his amazing runs. Him and Enoh would be one hell of a midfield (or a fit Diarra).
Konchesky: consistent, injury-free, quick, and productive. He also supported Hangeland a lot better than Riise does.
LOL someone else voted for Okaka...
Gera and Dembele, Smalling third choice. Zoltan was my favourite player for us, he was brilliant, if he were a few years younger. Dembele is a no brainer really.
dembeleis a true class act and BZ was a really excellent center forward until mr jol alienated him. we need such a player desperately. Of course the BZ I want back is 5 years younger than the current one.
I don't understand how smalling gets so many votes, he was ordinary at best and I don't think he has really come on.
Clearly Dembele and Dempsey
Agree, Clearly Dembele and Dempsey.
An attack if those two, Berba & Ruiz would score, add to the defense and allow for Super K to start.
Hugo & Enoh off the bench when needed and if Diarra makes it back...... 55 points.
If we had to give the money back - Murph and Gera
If we could keep the dough - Smalling and Dembele
Gera and Nevland
This one's too hard for me. There are six I would really want back--at their prime--each for different reasons.
I said Mousa Dembele as he is one of my favourite Fulham players of recent times and it pains me that we have not been able to replace him.
I also went for Smalling as he is young and solid.. he has a great future ahead of him.
Dembele and Etuhu. Although Etuhu was not good with the ball, he scared opponents with his presence. We need someone like that right now
Dempsey = goals / prime
Dembele = midfield maestro

Dickson was massively misused and mismanaged. He was far better with the ball than given credit, but he made mental errors. They were fixable. I suspect they didn't try. He had the physical tools; he just needed more refining with situational soccer. And he had some back luck, too.
Just a quick point about Etuhu. When he was used (twice) I think as a more attacking midfield player he looked the business. Used as a defensive midfielder he never made the grade for me.
I rated Salcido actually in a problem position.
And of course Dembele is a no brainer.
Went with Smalling and Dembele. Didn't twig Murphy, but may taken him over Smalling. We need a Murphy to keep us ticking over, and to give a bollocking when it is needed (leadership).
Smalling and Dembele for me.
Considered Dempsey briefly, but there is a reason those 2 sold for more than everyone else on the list combined.

Smalling -- an England international at CB and RB. W=Exactly what more in the way of explanation do you require?
Salcido -- better than the LB he replaced and better than the LB that replaced him, he is now Monterrey's and Mexico's Danny Murphy.
I was mulling over Salcido. A heck of a player.
Dembele and Smalling; the rest are past their best. There are lots in that list whom I have a soft spot for, but time waits for no man.

The poll was meant for "at their best" ie if nevland were to show back up, it would be the super sub type that we got originally.
Whoops, sorry missed that bit. That makes it a lot tougher due to the number of soft spots.
My heart says Dembele and Gera
My head says Murphy and Dempsey.
(with nods towards Nevland, Smalling, Pantsil, Konch and grudgingly Zamora)

This was my thinking too.
Nevland is perhaps my favourite Fulham player of all time. What a brilliant finisher. Alongside Berba and being supplied by Ruiz he would be superb.
