...Burnley get the fair play place....
And I think we receive about £6.5 million. I think we will see some signings in the summer (superb alliteration there)

That's it? Haven't we earned that much already?
And it will be a small story on page 7 overshadowed by the news that Rafa Benitez will be managing Juventus next year.
The £6.5 million refers just to prize money. Prior to yesterdays game we had amassed about £7 million which was a combination of prize money, ticket sales and TV money. The winner of the final will make at least £12 million when everything is taken into account.

Is that £12 million in total, presumably? (i.e. income from FK Vetra to trophy)
So we get more from selling Chris Smalling than from winning Europe?
Its based on what last years winners Shakhtar made. Given that the Europa has more game and more prize money I guess the £12 million is on the conservative side. What I don't know are the sort of gate receipts and match day income Shakhtar generated compared to us or how the TV money differs from The UEFA Cup.
I believe (as always) Mr WN is very much in the correct ballpark.
As he says what is hard to gauge is the media/tele benefits.
But needless to say, it was a very fruitful economically venture for the club in Europe. MAF has to be very happy with that.

That may well be Finnster, but we will know and we will always remember. Nothing and noone will ever take it away from those that stood up because they still believed.
How Fulhamish would it be if Burnley knock us out next season? :002: .

Well we don't have the best of records up there, do we now?
Turin, Rome, Basel ... Burnley!
We're all going on a European tour!

I would take that because it would mean that we win it this year!!
