LB .................Long ( who isn't long at all , at all ) can leap like a salmon, l love a player who can head a ball ...............Frank Stapleton scored most of his goals with his head  ....or was that an urban myth  ??

.........nicely avoiding  the Senderos trap,  innit !!!!

In all seriousness, that lad James MccCarthy is quite a player. So comfortable on the ball, plays it simple when needed, can drive forward with the ball at his feet and can pick a pass. Can see him playing for a top team in years to come. Hopefully via Fulham.

I cannot believe that there is any other country who could have a commentator who was clearly rooting for the opposition.

Kelly is a lovely lad but a Championship level footballer though.

I would love to see McCarthy with us. I went to both Wigan games last season and was very impressed with him. For a lad who is 22 years old, he has fantastic maturity on and off the ball. Would be a shame to see him playing in the Championship next year, as opposed to the PL.

It is amazing that Kelly can look so good when he's given a start. I remember him dominating the same wing against Brazil a few seasons ago. Kelly's inability to play at a high level is always easier to argue for when he doesn't play.

Of course, he was only playing against English players. The majority of the quality players in the Prem would have troubled him more.

We need to sign the lad again and play him out of position at LB. He'll be next season's Senderos?   :49:

There this was lad who played for the USA early this morning - I think his name was Eddie Johnson - and he didn't look too bad. Maybe we should give him a chance?

I thought this thread was about Kelly not Senderos and just out of curiosity what was his one big mistake against Swansea? and in the beating by Liverpool, oh wait a minute he did not play in that game, i guess it was still his fault though.

When I wrote "He'll be next season's Senderos", I meant he'll take over from Senderos as the whipping boy on this and other forums. I'm sorry if it wasn't clear.

Big mistake against Swansea was a horrendous back pass that would have cost a goal against better shooters

Would it have cost a goal, how do you know that, sometimes Hangeland's terrible misplaced passes could lead to a goal but you never seem to jump on that, and to be fair he generally does at least one in every game.

Sorry but i reckon everyone in the Swansea match made mistakes, but it seems good decent Fulham supporters like yourselves just continuously put the boot in on Senderos, i think it is now a become a habit.

I thought it was firmly established that Sidwell is the mistake waiting to happen, twice in thirteen minutes as it turns out.

No I don't Alfie, you asked what was his one big mistake and I told you, his problem is that he cannot as much as he tries  read the game properly and that is why is he is so rash and cocks up regularly, perhaps he tries to hard some times to impress as sidwell did back after red card and look what happened then

Hahaha. So on a Stephen Kelly is good thread, there is still an opportunity to do Senderos down.

Both players are playing at the level they deserve to be at next season.

fair enough matey, true i did ask that question, but it does sadden me that ok he made a mistake that may or may not have lead to a goal, but as i say some of Hangeland's wayward passes that may or may not lead to a goal never seem to be made a big deal, and he does it every game.

Still onwards and upwards (hopefully)
