Barton for all his baggage really is supremely talented.

Looking at the Rangers side, even having shed a lot of the hangers on from last season, that is a side that should be in the top division, and yet Wednesday are currently playing them off of the park.

On 14th May of this year Barton Tweeted: 'I'll just re-iterate for a lot of the buffoons tweeting me. I WILL NOT BE PLAYING IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT SEASON. Hope that clears that up!'

...Hahahahahaha.

Oh yeah and this on 9th April: 'Some strange people think that I'll be playing in the Championship next season.

What an absolute bell end that man is.

A good footballer, as mccscratch says, but a mighty, mighty bell end too.

gutted  to hear that qpr are playing well,  not a bad game here but still 0-0,  bury missed  an open net  and some great chances,  Chesterfield played so nice passing  football,  second half kicking off now

How is AJ playing? What's his goal like
I see another old boy Darren Pratley also scored  today for Bolton

AJ looked really sharp in the first half,  I've not watched the second so don't know if he is still out there,  but he took his goal well following a good save from Chris Kirkland.

I would have loved to have had a really fit AJ still with us but his injury record was not good so better off our books

AJ was always good when he played for us - or tried his best, anyway, even if out of position, or not getting support.

He is still a very talented player, but  being injury prone has been his downfall.

HD, station BEIN.  It is an additionl sports package which I think my son must have added. Not sure I will keep it once the Prem starts.

My provider told me that if I cancel it, I can reconnect and have a free monthe to decide if I want to keep it. I might do that and if Fulham get a league cup match (they show that competition too) I can connect it in time to see the game.

BEinSport is the English-language sports channel from our friends at Al Jazeera. I have my problems with them. During a USA World Cup qualifying away match, they kept switching to another match going on at the same time. Lots of pissed off people.

No worries!

I'm another that thinks he could still do a job for us, if only he could stay fit.  I would also imagine that if Rangers can keep him and Zamora fit, then they should tear that championship up.

It's going to be an interesting season down there.

I went down today to see Portsmouth v Oxford United as my girlfriends relatives are Pompey fans and despite the result it was a good game very good buzz around the stadium. Have always had a soft spot for Pompey especially as so many of our great players from the past have ended up there (Diop, Davis and even Michael brown ;) ) but in all seriousness since the great escape I've always kept an eye on them good luck to them hope to see them in the prem soon!

Some people laughed at me when I said Wigan for the Championship Title....Look were they are!
ok, only one game in, but 4-0 away is quite impressive.
Lots of goals around today = 98.

I don't know why people said you're stupid for saying Wigan for the title, Bolton, QPR, Wigan, Reading are the favourites.

I have just arrived back from Steven Gerrard's testimonial. Cracking atmosphere at Anfield. Good to see a true striker like Robbie Fowler get another 20 minute run-out as well.

I can confirm this. Liverpool will NOT finish top 4 this year, even if Luis Suarez stays

Sorry fella - the question DOES have to be asked of you

Why on earth are you "rooting" for Derby?

I love the football league! 18k at Fratton Park, Yeovil winning at Millwall, Newport back in the League after 25 years. The Premier League is really good, but it is the support right down into the third and fourth tier of football that makes this Country so unique.
