Title: Norwich (and why we need to play out of our skins)
Post by: Robbie on December 23, 2013, 03:39:58 PM
Fact 1: Fulham has never been in the bottom three at Xmas since promotion in 2001
Fact 2: Fulham have only won one of their 11 Premier League games played on December 26

BUT

Fact 3: Fulham have won nine and lost none of their last 12 games in all competitions against Norwich
Fact 4: Dimitar Berbatov has five goals and five assists in six Premier League appearances on December 26

COYW!!!  (For F*ck Sake Get  A Point, At Least!)

I remember losing at home to WHU under Sparky on Boxing Day and being bottom 3 then.

So we have been in similar situations before.

But I totally agree with your sentiment!

Our season starts with this match... Lets get something from it.

If we play the way we played the last four games, we have evry chance of a good result, I am optimistic BUT we are running out of centre halves and centre forwards... I hope berba recovers in time for this one, he doesn't just play at the front he wins an awful lot of defensive headers at set pieces.

Facts 1 & 2, (number 2 in particular), are a little worrying. Although I like the look of fact no. 3, and history does make a habit of repeating itself, (us at Everton for example). Hopefully we'll continue fact 3 for another year at least.  082.gif

Hughes golden parachute must have been huge for Mo to keep him after that defeat (WHU).

I am sorry it does not matter about facts 1 & 2 or indeed 3 & 4, they are long gone and really has no bearing on the now, what does matter is how they play the next game.

Yes, Southampton springs to mind.

Agree Alfie - these past stats have no bearing on this upcoming game, apart from possible psychological factors, which I'm sure RM will make sure the players don't  have......But we just need to go out there and play our best, and give our all, and, hopefully , have a bit of luck.

A point will be a good result.

We have conceded 10 goals in our last 4 games, lets hope we don't play like this against Norwich but without Hangeland and Sendores we may well continue to leak goals.

Centre forward is not a problem, choose from Berbatov,Bent,Rodders and Tarrabt.

It might be a good thing that brede and sendeross are out as both of them this year havnt been good hughes has been the bst of a bad bunch in my opinion put zthroric in ther he can't b any worse as I'm sure I rad he can play anywhere in th back four.
The next four games I believe will hugely set the standard for the rest of the season .
The form has been good under rene but we still can't defend and untilwe do we won't get enough pionts to stay up.
